Flood Fill Who knew that the Four Color Theorem would make for such a nice simple idea puzzle game? OneFifth's Flood Fill is a fun and colorful way to fill up a coffee break, even if its 20 levels are over way too quickly. But hey, the background music is catchy.

Hood: Episode 3 The macabre adventure tale of a wolf battling demons, witches and at times villagers' enigmatic remarks continues with all the rich atmosphere and saturated plot lines that you expect from Hyptosis. This third installment is probably the best yet in terms of style and riddling puzzles. It still has a few drawbacks yet they're not enough to diminish the overall enjoyment of immersing yourself in this strange and twisted story.

Monkey GO Happy North Pole The monkeys have gone way, way North this time, and not a moment too soon... Santa's workshop is a shambles! Can you help them put it together in this sweetly seasonal point-and-click puzzle game?

Synapsis 2 Something has happened. You don't know exactly what, but you know that this place doesn't seem right. This place where the doors don't have hinges or knobs and passing through one feels like you're passing through space and time. No, it doesn't seem quite right, but some things seem...familiar. Such is the strange and wonderful world of Synapsis 2, the equally mind-bending sequel to the original Synapsis from early 2008.

Sprinkled with philosophical flavor, this game will have you 'thinking outside the box' as you maneuver your way around 20 levels of obstacles, both physical and mental. The hand drawn black-and-white graphics coupled with Methamphetabear's eerie sythesizer soundtrack are a mighty duo in an intriguing experience.

Homerun in Berzerk Land Okay. Look. If you're reading this, chances are you're on the Internet. If you are, you hate other Internet users. It's just a natural law. That's where Berzerk Studio's new hit-people-with-things simulator comes in. Using elements from their various other games, your goal is simple. Build and create food to customers' exacting orders, unlock secret recipes and daily species, decorate for holidays and much more in this fast-paced cooking simulation.

Sacra Terra: Angelic Night This is one of the best, most elaborate adventure hybrids to come out this year. With the emphasis squarely on the point-and-click adventuring, Sacra Terra: Angelic Night is a mind-blowing throwback to the days of yore in adventure gaming with its engrossing story, stunning visuals, and, most importantly, depth of gameplay. Alawar has created a world which is fascinating to explore and difficult to leave, and the combination of beautiful, otherworldly scenes juxtaposed with the grim, haunting asylum proper makes the entire experience surreal.

Mighty Knight When the king asks you to go kick some demon butt, you can't refuse. So you put together a band of merry henchmen and set out to Doom Castle to defeat an evil overlord. Before you reach him, though, you'll have to go over hill and dale, killing skeletons, ghosts and all manner of supernatural critters, thus improving your skills before you finally face your formidable foe.

Griswold the Goblin:
Islands of Fire — Chapter One Griswold the Goblin: Islands of Fire -- Chapter One is a beautifully compact and well-produced point-and-click adventure game from B-Group Productions. Take the reins of Griswold, a droopy and half-alert fellow with ridiculous posture, as he embarks on a sure-to-be-epic quest, for no other reason than that his TV broke and he's just bored enough to look for some treasure.

Escape from the Restroom Escape from the Restroom is a pretty easy game, befitting something that is there to amuse a restaurant patron for a few minutes while awaiting a dinner guest. The puzzles are fun and challenging but not overly difficult, creating a nice, light, easy escape to whet your appetite and leave you wanting more.

Wallace's Workshop Wallace and Gromit are back with another game, a physics puzzler that will well and truly test your noggin. Tinysasters 2: Rise of the Nexus Get set to make tiny pixel civilizations thrive again! Lucky Crab A crab with the ability to create bubbles around itself? What good could that possibly do? Oh, I dunno... how about just nabbing a boatload of pearls to... spend on... whatever crabs want? (Krill? Novelty t-shirts?) This physics puzzle may feel familiar, but with a gentle difficulty curve, great presentation, and careful crafting is perfect for kids and coffee breaks alike.

Larry and the Gnomes Gnomes are trouble, and after playing this challenging side-scrolling hack-and-slasher, you'll never look at the little buggers the same way again. Take on the role of Larry, a pint-sized knight with a bit of a complex, as he journeys in search of the Gnome King to put a stop to the invasion. Along the way, battle difficult bosses, and pick up a whole lot of weapons to add to your chances of survival.

Flashxed Flashxed manages to breathe a little life into the familiar block-matching puzzle theme with a new mechanic: block dragging. You're presented with a set of bricks with colored orbs sparkling inside. Drag blocks left or right one at a time, and if two or more blocks of the same color touch, they smash and crumble away. It's extraordinarily perplexing at times, but that challenge is what makes it so fun.

Flagstaff: Chapter Three Now that you've defeated that pungeon master, the five-man band is descending into a cave with an even greater threat: humidity. Turns out putting a cave of ice and a cave of fire next to each other isn't that great of an idea. The good thing about Flagstaff: Chapter Three is that it's more of the same, and since the previous games were fun, light-hearted time wasters well received by many in the JIG community as well as myself, more of the same can't go too wrong.

Orbox B Orbox B by GameBalance is a game of striking simplicity and compelling puzzle solving, and is the sequel to the original Orbox game previously reviewed here. O Quarto O Quarto is a great looking point-and-click game made by Andres Calil of Me Pixa. Once again you are trapped in a room and must search the area for items to help you escape. The art style of this game is superb and reminds me of an interactive oil painting. The game is also quite mysterious and offers some wonderfully perplexing mysteries that must be solved in order to escape.

Tower of Moai With simple gameplay and an almost frantic feel, Tower of Moai is as entertaining as it is... weird. The goal is to save scrambling moai statues stranded on top of a wobbly tower. As the moai statues move the tower bends with their weight. Use the mouse to guide the platform and try to keep it beneath the swinging ladder.

Good Night Mr. Snoozleberg Expert diplomat Mr. Snoozleberg has a busy schedule: bullet-train inaugurations, movie awards, alien invasions, theme park visits. He can handle everything, though, as long as he's gets a good night rest... and his sleepwalking makes that difficult. Good think he has you to point and click all the obstacles out of his platforming path! Good Night Mr. Snoozleberg's first chapter was released back in 1999: practically ancient in internet gaming terms. It may be an oldie, but it's definitely a goodie.

Bermuda Triangle Escape A smooth inventory system, environmental components that are fun to play with despite their lack of function, and puzzles rooted in logic. Yes, it's a brand new point-and-click adventure from Pastel Games! Despite an abrupt ending and a fluctuating difficulty level, this is a fine game to eat up fifteen minutes of your time.

Imagia 1: The Tower You find yourself in the ruins of a strange tower, with rubble at your feet, and only the sounds of the night to keep you company. Where are you? Why are you here? And what is the significance of the paint you find splattered around? Not all your questions will be answered in this first short installment of a new point-and-click series, but Part 1 serves to challenge and entice with some great atmosphere while you're there.

The Great Living Room Escape What do a hamster, an umbrella, and half a pair of glasses have in common? I'm not telling, but The Great Living Room Escape just might. The just-released follow up to The Great Kitchen Escape from Pastelgames.com (the site Submachine creator Mateusz Skutnik calls home) is filled with brightly-colored art, zany items, and excellent point-and-click room escape gameplay.

Upgrade Completer Two years ago, Antony Lavelle released Upgrade Complete. A mix of shoot em up and space invaders, the games main purpose was to unsubtly parody one of the more obnoxious aspects of modern gaming: the inclusion of unnecessary and convoluted upgrade systems. Everything came at a price and had to be bought: weapons, graphics, music, buttons... even the pre-loader and Armor Games intro animation. However... it turns out that the developers weren't quite done... After all, what is an upgrade system without a sequel that requires you to restart your progress from the beginning? Thus comes Upgrade Completer, a game that advances the original's premise as much as its humor.

Little Red Riding Hood: A Post Apocalyptic Adventure A spot-the-difference game that turns your childhood on its head, Little Red Riding Hood: A Post Apocalyptic Adventure is a short but sweet story about... well, you know what! Featuring a smart hint system, gorgeous visuals, and loads of character, it's just the thing to brighten your day in this dystopian future.

Nuclearoids Nuclearoids is a chain reaction arcade game that will remind you a little of Boomshine. A collaboration between GameBalance (Warp Forest, Orbox) and Alexander Samarin, expect a whole lot of smooth color changes and great visual effects to go along with your physics-based orb collisions. It's a game of not-quite-controlled chaos that takes a big step in the webtoy direction.

Gold Door Escape Gold Door Escape is a rollicking good escape the room game. Most of the fun is had in anticipating the bizarre, hilarious, or surreal scenes that await the player as they make their way through the strangest building in existence. Fun, slightly scandalous, and surprisingly logical, Gold Door is the perfect mid-week escape, especially for anyone who appreciates the outlandishness to be found within.

Postal Panic If you've been itching for a new, fun side-scrolling shooter, Postal Panic is a game you don't want to pass up. It takes the side-scrolling action of an arcade shooter and throws in some upgrading, a wacky story line and an even wackier set of enemies. Instead of the typical outer space setting, you play the role of a postal worker (in some crazy alternate dimension) who pilots a fully-armed, mail delivery ship.

Author Dan Russell-Pinson set out to create a game with wider appeal than the Tipping Point series of adventure games he is known for, and the game's redeeming qualities certainly don't end there.

Bloons There is something inherently gratifying about smashing or destroying something, even watching a building be demolished is good fun. So it should be no surprise that we see the concept come up a lot in games. Stephen over at Ninja Kiwi claims that his latest Flash game, "is based on the very simple fact that popping balloons is fun". And you know what? He's right! In Bloons you get to pop a lot of balloons!

Krome Looking for a stylish arcade challenge? All you have to do to play Krome is to keep lapping the center circle as long as possible without running into the trail of squares you leave behind, but changing colours and explosives makes this harder than it looks. How high is your score?

Fishy Waters When her father is swallowed whole by the kraken, our heroine vows to get him back in this cute but simple arcade style fishing simulator! Travel the seas, catching different fish and selling them for the upgrades you need to take you farther.

Kveendolnitza Help the charismatic and musically-talented Triton in his search for the legendary magic of the ancients in this surreal point-and-click adventure by Jacek Szleszyński. Very similar in concept to Samorost and Hapland, although unique in its artistic style, there's much here to explore, discover and delight in. Gazing at the fantastic art as enjoyable as the gameplay itself. Some will find Kveendolnitza their first time through, some may need to try again. Either way, the journey is the best part of the adventure!

Dynamic Systems Dynamic Systems, created by Lorenzo Nuvoletta, is another in a long line of games first made popular by The Incredible Machine, where you must fabricate an overly elaborate system of simple machines to perform a task that would hardly impress a toddler: putting a ball in a bucket.

Crossblock Crossblock is a simple and rewarding puzzle game with a sublimely deceptive difficulty curve. Your goal is to eliminate all the blocks on a level by dragging a line across them, one horizontal or vertical group at a time. It's hard to believe that such straightforward, honest-looking piles of blocks can hold so many baffling complications.

Monkey GO Happy Ninjas What would make you happier than anything right now? If you're a monkey in the latest Monkey GO Happy point-and-click puzzle game from Pencilkids, the answer, of course, is finding 70 mini-monkeys clad in ninja gear hiding around a temple of sorts and the surrounding area!

Bit Dungeon KintoGames serves up some challenging roguelike retro action in this squishy, slashy dungeon crawler. Battle your way through hordes of enemies, gain powerful weapons and armor, find power-ups, and try to stay alive... all with the click of a mouse. Some awkward controls keep it from really feeling as sleek as you'd like, but with a great sense of style and tons of baddies and bosses, it delivers a solid dose of arcade-style hack-and-slash action.

Anbot 2 Anbot 2 is short and sweet, but so totally jam-packed with action and excitment that it's much more than just a mouthful of gaming goodness. It might not take long to help Anbot through his second adventure, but you'll definitely feel like he owes you one for helping him out this time.

The Fabulous Explorationsland Who wants to go on a treasure hunt? Everybody? That's what I thought! Wake Up The Box 2:
Office Edition Wake Up The Box 2 is a physics puzzle that has you attaching various wooden pieces to objects in order to wake up the tie-wearing Mr. Box. The game includes interesting contraptions, new gameplay elements, and a few surprises along the way. It's a solid, casual game that fans of the series and physics-aficionados should enjoy. The title feels even more refined and smoother than its predecessor. Give it a try!

Bloody Fun Day Bloody Fun Day is a refreshingly original turn-based strategy game from Urban Squall, built around the character of a cute little nihilistic, selfish grim reaper. Your objective is to score as many points as possible by reaping the Cuties, who populate their hexagonally gridded island like dense, colorful game pieces. Their crime is incessant happiness and adorability. Their punishment is a gratuitously violent death. Deceptively well-crafted and deep, Bloody Fun Day is a bloody good time.

Killer Escape 3 After the events of the first two games, you thought you'd finally escaped the crazed killers after you, but things are only going to get stranger in this latest chapter in Psionic Games' bizarre and entertaining point-and-click horror escape series!

Loom Above Loom above is the latest room escape game from Place of Light, one of our favorite room escape game developers. It's not nearly as long or challenging as previous releases we've seen by this developer, and there are far fewer items to find. The puzzles are all fairly straightforward and the game is a joy to play because of how well everything fits together. See for yourself.

Minim A gorgeous puzzle game with an impeccable user interface, Minim sets the standard for browser-based casual games. Minimize molecules to nothingness by combining atoms with digits on them, according to a few simple rules. Despite the references to chemistry and some light math, Minim isn't an educational game. It's more like a comforting hug followed by a knuckle sandwich.

Pick and Dig 3 If the hero of Pick and Dig 3 could jump and actually bothered to use the mace on his back, there'd be no challenge to the puzzles in this platformer, and therefore no fun. The levels in this game are nonlinear, and unlock based on how many you've completed and your own ability to maneuver around the level select screen, so if you get stuck on one level, you can always try some others to get coins to upgrade.

Plexus Puzzle: FlutterBy The masters of the jigsaw at Plexus certainly weren't bundled up for winter when programming their latest mind-bending picture puzzle: FlutterBy. This time the subject is bugs and blossoms, drawn in a softer, more childlike style than we usually see from the developer. But don't let the big noses and sproingy antennae fool you: This is a puzzle that will take all your visual acuity to resolve into the final big picture.
