Escape from the Starship Escape from the Starship is an escape game that uses sound to convey the relative proximity of monsters that you must avoid. The sound you hear, however, ultimately determines whether that tile is safe.

Soap Bubble 2 While we at JayIsGames pride ourselves on featuring the best and latest in casual gaming, we always have time to feature quality works that fell through the cracks. Case in point: Soap Bubble, a, if not the, prototypical avoidance game, was originally released in 2002 and became one of the earliest games featured on the site. The charming and devilishly difficult tale of an ultra-delicate bubble trying to make his way through a cave back to his friends was the start of great things for Anders Gustafsson including the Audience Award winning Gateway series and the coolly claymated The Dream Machine. So it seems that the 2006 sequel which continued the story of the iridescent sphere that could passed us by... until today! Soap Bubble 2 keeps what was best about the original while still feeling fresh.

Cling Next up for your action/physics fix: Cling, a new release from Ghostwriter. In Cling you control Edgar the electric spider. As everyone knows, electric spiders love nothing more than reaching a goal at the end of a level. Edgar's legs reach out and automatically grab pegs on the wall when he gets close enough to them. This "sticky" movement lets you slowly crawl across a stage, working both with and against your momentum to avoid obstacles and leap over pegless chasms.

Treasure Bear A bear falls asleep in a fruit crate and finds himself in a dungeon in Slime Prince's castle. The bear teams up with a treasure chest and they go on a slime-destroying, treasure-hunting adventure. If that's not bizarre enough, wait till you see them bouncing off a huge pig roast amidst a pile of broken plates.

Soluna A dark, moody world bereft of sunlight, this game has you jumping, leaping and fighting your way through your darkened homeland to reunite pieces of a Sun Gem. Use the [arrow] keys and [S] to jump, attack and interact with the noirish landscape.

Dungeon Dice While Dungeon Dice is in many ways a typical RPG, its twist on the genre is that instead of fighting monsters with sword and fang, you fight each other with dice, or "magical numeric cubes." In a way, this is no different from any other RPG, but moving a background mechanic to the forefront makes for a different experience.

Stargazers Stargazers is a minimalist puzzle Ludum Dare entry by Cake and Zeik that's sure to have everyone watching the skies. An interesting variation on connect-the-dots, Stargazers may be short, but it has astronomical amounts of polish.

Boomerang Chang How long can you last against an endless tide of enemies when your own weapon can be deadly to you in this simple but also simply addictive arcade game from Michel Gerard? Toss your boomerang and leap to avoid it and attack enemies behind you, but it's only a matter of time...

Alone in the Park (Amidos & Vartagh) In this adorable little multidirectional shooter, Alone in the Park, you play John the Cook, who after a long day at work, closes down his restaurant and decides to take a shortcut through the park. Big mistake. Because, as we all know, walking alone at night in the park is just asking for a purple multidimensional portal to open up and suck you into a parallel universe controlled by evil mushrooms. In more conventional shooters, you'd have your pick of shotguns, ninja stars, or BFGs. But you're just a cook afterall, so you'll have to make due with thrown cigarettes and pizza cutters, at least until you've earned enough points to upgrade your weapons

Lab Escape Worry not about secret codes or enigmatic messages; Lab Escape simply requires you to take stock of your surroundings and act accordingly. This isn't a bad thing, however; it's kinda nice to take a break from more fantastical situations.

Hold Your Ground What has royalty ever done that was so bad? Sure, there's been a few taxed-in-the-ground peasants and the trifling matter of some wars of conquest causing untold death and misery, but what's a little abuse of power between friends? Certainly it's nothing that deserves having one's castle knocked in on one's head. Hold Your Ground rectifies this situation by putting you in charge of building a defensive structure to guard the royal person. God save the adorable little bearded king!

Balancing Act As the name suggests, Balancing Act requires you to keep a number of balls (and other ball-ish things) balanced on top of each other. Click on a ball and drag your mouse to rotate it, but remember that each action has an equal and opposite reaction! The stylish and humorous presentation and simple control system are to be particularly commended in this worthy game design competition finalist.

Vivid Racers PostBeta invites you to a Tron-like slotcar race, where traffic and obstacles are more of a hindrance than the other racers. Across 6 tracks, race to set the best times possible on densely populated courses that only allow lane changes, rather than traditional steering.

Storm Ops 4 The enemy is laying siege to our base. Their superior numbers will soon smash through our defenses, and all we can hope to do is to stand our ground, put a bullet in as many as we can, and hope we can last long enough for help to arrive. This is Storm Ops 4, a military first-person defense shooter by 3KG Games. The first couple of levels offer a steep learning curve, but shooter fans in the mood for a more realistic edge will find it worth sticking to.

Pee Wee's Nightmare Hamumu's latest creation for Boy's Life is a nightmare... literally! Help Pee Wee escape from his elaborate platforming bad dreams before he has to get up for school... OR ELSE. Run, jump, ninja-roll and soar your way past all manner of dangerous traps and obstacles through three stages of difficulty.

Sienna Room A room where the surroundings are so lush and comfy looking that in real life you'd be kicking back and enjoying living the good life. And Sienna Room has some pretty fun puzzles to distract us with during our stay. So, kick back and enjoy the zen calm of one of Tomatea's early room escape efforts in Sienna Room, a place so comfy looking you might never want to actually leave.

Color Tanks The colours, THE COLOURS! FunByJohn delivers a bouncy, riotous arena shooter about blasting other tanks with blobs of deadly colour across a variety of fun-house landscapes. Chaotic and charming, though not without its sticking points, its a vibrant way to blow up a coffee break.

Calabash Bros Place and upgrade towers of all types to defend against the incoming monster horde in this cute tower defense game that will appeal to fans of Kingdom Rush and Demons vs Fairyland! With multiple difficulty levels and even the option to let a stage randomly select and place your towers for you, it's a solid and satisfying addition to the genre.

Dirt of the Dead Certainly we know about the immediate dangers of the undead: the biting and the clawing and the infecting and the whatnot. What about the larger environmental concerns? I mean, a zombie claws his way out of a shallow grave... who's going to be re-sodding that ground? A vampire explodes in a fiery cloud of dust... someone needs to sweep that up. And don't even get me started on what can happen when a werewolf gets in your flower bed. 3kggames's new action looper Dirt of the Dead shows that the clean-up can get just as intense as the confrontation.

Cubes move by rotating in the direction of travel, and as a cube is only truly home when the colored side is face-down, you must assess not only the means of delivery, but also the approach. Not every orientation will do, and part of the solving is in adjusting the cube's orientation so that it can arrive home properly.

Scribbland In a sketchy, notepad world, a doodled character moves with ninja-like precision over the landscape and deadly terrain. Under birds, over spikes, avoiding pitfalls and collecting floating clocks en route to the exit is a lot more difficult than it seems in this tricky one-button platformer.

Chompy Chompy, the star of the puzzle platformer by Wolve, is a crocodile who loves eating, coins, and eating coins. While the tutorial levels give the game a slow start, it is a game that will win you over with its sense of joy and a level of shine to the mechanics that distinguishes it from similar works.

Artillerize Space invaders and Lincoln logs mixed all into one! Build your fort, collect your gold and save the city from alien invasion in this fast paced strategy shooter. Artillerize is a great strategy crafting game that overcomes some of its more frustrating aspects with its entertaining and innovative gameplay.

One Screen Hero In this Ludum Dare title, you're a knight fighting your way through an ever-shifting dungeon encompassed entirely by one screen. Scamper about, doing battle with skeletons and collecting treasure before the timer hits zero. You'd better make sure you're on the right portal when it does!

Space Walker A simple jump-and-run platformer with style, Space Walker shows that a very simple concept paired with simple graphics can be made into an enjoyable and very pretty casual game experience. Nothing earth-shattering or all that innovative here, just a well-designed package from tip to tail.

Spy Bear Gleefully pick off a roomful of unfortunately-placed nefarious henchmen with just a few well-placed billiards-like trick shots in this embarassingly-safisfying physics projectile puzzler. With everything from grenades to insane Tesla guns, you've got a lot of tools for the job.

Waiting Room Don't let the game's charming trappings deceive you, Waiting Room has real substance and some formidable puzzles. The Time Capsule An escape game that is heavy on story and light on escaping, since the goal is not to leave the room but to find a time capsule left by your now deceased wife to celebrate what would have been your 10th wedding anniversary. Let the soothing music clip relax you as you solve puzzles that range from pretty simple to head-banging-hard and enjoy the mid-week escaping challenge.

Waste From long-time casual game creator Terry Paton, Waste is a simple but highly-polished puzzle game featuring every child's two favorite things: monsters and goopy green sewage! The undeniably cute release combines quick-action puzzle solving along with a little bit of old fashioned error-driven pressure, forcing you to make snap decisions that are not only efficient, but economical, too. It's an easy game to pick up and play, no matter what mood you're in or how long your "coffee break" happens to be!

BALANZZE Simple, modern, addictive. These are the adjectives this physics-puzzle game uses to describe itself. Click the blocks to make them move, fall, or disappear, so you can guide the green circles and squares onto the blue blocks. An infectiously fun time waster.

Greedy Pirates Yo ho ho and a treasure chest of physics puzzle levels! In this much improved revamp of Totems Awakening, you'll need to be quick with your mouse to toss a gold coin safely back to the treasure chest, with some help from your pirate chums and your friendly neighborhood bombs and teleportation devices. Teleportation devices are in ALL the best pirate movies.

Hell On Duty The underworld stinks, mostly because all the demons do, and it's your job to clean them all up in this ghoulishly endearing physics puzzler. Using a special ragdoll cannon, not to mention dolls with unique abilities, fire and knock each demon into the boiling cauldron to make them squeaky clean, but with new puzzle elements piled on throughout the game, it's harder (and more fun) than you might think.
