Deep Combining the visual presence of flOw with a few casual real-time strategy and shooting elements, Deep is an intriguing hybrid game that's friendly to a variety of playing styles. You control a single cell-like critter who can move and shoot in any direction, but you're also in charge of a thriving colony of warriors who want nothing more than to eliminate the enemy. Play it like a shooter, play it like a strategy game, or play it like a little bit of both. Either way, it's an interesting dive under the sea.

Yurius's House of Spooks In this short and silly point-and-click puzzle game from Carmel Games, your nephew's remote-controlled plane wound up inside the local "mad scientist"'s house, and now you have to get it back!

That Gravity Game Don't you hate when lightning strikes your marshmallows and bestows sentience on them, so they go off on a gravity-warping, puzzle/platform adventure to save their squishy kin? I lose more tasty treats that way. That Gravity Game is a simple but fun gravity game experience to put a bit of squishy enjoyment in your day.

Goodgame Empire Designed to be played whenever you have a spare minute, this casual simulation tasks you with building and expanding your own kingdom from the ground up in real time. Though it does have optional microtransactions, piles of bonuses, special events, things to create, and more, it offers a ton of things to do without spending a dime and boasts a gorgeous design to boot.

Saturated Saturated will brighten your world with neon vector graphics and brain-challenging action-puzzles. You'll definitely never forget that red and blue make purple after your failure to apply that principle in time results in your ship being reduced to smithereens. There's a good variety in the levels here. Some levels require frantic speed to outrun a laser, others are mazes requiring exploration and backtracking, and still others are enemy-heavy.

Labscape Help the blocky-headed hero escape in this fun physics puzzle platformer hybrid from bart99. Labscape skews more towards the platform than the puzzle end of the spectrum when it comes to its challenge. While the level designs are clever and frequently charming, with my personal favorite being what I might call "razor blade surfing," it doesn't take more than a little thought to figure out where the missing pieces are that you have to draw. Completing this game won't necessarily turn you into a lithe athlete, but it will provide a fun little break for your day.

The Top Hat Club If you want to join the club, then the titular hat is requisite. It's just that simple. But getting to this millinery accoutrement is not as straight-forward in this platform puzzler by David Durham. Use [WASD] or arrow keys to move about, pick up items, and enter doorways and the [space bar] to jump as you pass by obstacles such as disintegrating tiles and rolling barrels—all while keeping that hat on your head. The difficulty of this feat varies by your agility and timing, yet the production values are consistently excellent. So hold on to your hat and get ready for the fun!

Fluke Ball The goal of Fluke Ball is to throw objects into the mysterious waves of force surrounding the office microwave, and knock out your opponent's objects when necessary. It's essentially shuffleboard, but sideways and with gravity. It sounds complicated, and it is at first, but it feels instinctive after some experimentation. And once you break through the layer of initial confusion, you'll have an whole miniature world of strange physics to explore.

Command & Control Tense, realistic, and gorgeously rendered, this tower defense/strategy hybrid puts you in command of a defensive force in several real world battle zones. Upgrade your units and deploy choppers and planes for maximum strategic effect.

One Man And His Dinosaur Boys and girls, it's Adult Swim time with a delightful yarn of sheep herding from Megadev, an action reflex game. Use your mouse to move the dinosaur (which in turn moves the herd) and click on things that need to be eaten. These do not include the sheep. You will try to eat the sheep, however... the temptation is just too big.

Zomblast Ever heard the expression, "They're more afraid of you than you are of them?" If we're talking about zombies trapped in an explosive physics puzzle game and you're armed with grenades, it's probably true. While it doesn't really offer anything new, the quirky presentation as the zombies chatter at you makes this a simple, silly treat.

Draka 2: No More Christmas Draka, the unsavory spider vampire, is at it again and is out to ruin the holidays for everyone by spreading his creepy curse in this physics puzzler! At just twenty levels, it's fairly short, but the weird premise and silly gameplay makes this an excellent anti-holiday treat.

Elventales: The Arcanery An army of elves stormed a deep and deadly labyrinth, and now you're the only soldier left alive. In this action-adventure RPG, infused with a touch of roguelike, you must brave dangerous monsters, avoid fearsome traps, and find your way to the exit! Forge powerful equipment, master mighty arcane magics, and learn and exploit your enemy's weaknesses to survive the dungeon!

Lost Yeti You play a young yeti who has wondered off in search of tasty treats in this interesting puzzle game. Slide blocks along a row or column to clear a path to the exit, while avoiding enemies and other pitfalls. Collect popsicles along the way for an extra challenge.

Tiny Airships In Tiny Airships, you'll use your airship to defend your home against the vile Tyrian Empire and hopefully you'll manage it without plummeting to the earth. The various combinations of upgrades add a nice level of depth, since you can customize your craft to suit your play style.

Morbid Pastel Games has just released a new point-and-click game, Morbid, designed and illustrated by Maciej Palka with programming, animation and puzzle support from Mateusz Skutnik. Although the artwork contained within is well-conceived and the atmosphere is enticingly moody, we weren't as impressed with the gameplay. Hard-to-find hotspots turn this game into a disappointing exercise in frustration. But give it a play and decide for yourself.

D.Slide There's something inherently soothing about sliding puzzles. No wait, hear me out. You're just thinking they're frustrating because so frequently they're the obstacle in your escape or hidden object game, the puzzle that rears its ugly mug when you just want to open up the safe or fix the breaker system. But if you distill it down to its essence and give it a relaxing ambiance, there's something pure and satisfying about sliding some blocks around, and that's just what this game from Ateta Games delivers.

Max Damage Everyone has heard the phrase "Like a kid in a candy store". But how about "Like a kid in a warehouse full of expensive, fragile items. With a cannon. And physics." Less whimsical and more terrifying, isn't it? Max Damage wants you to cause the maximum damage to carefully arranged items across 49 levels using various types of ammunition to rack up a big score. It's a game for the sandbox bully in all of us, with none of the mess to clean up afterwards.

Eternal Elements There's a boulder in your way, but the strange orb in the jaws of the nearby statue may hold the key. But why are you there to begin with? What happened to you? Or... what did you do? Find out in this extremely short but intriguing little point-and-click tale from Rosiana D and her group of talented creators.

Avoid! (The Game) It looks simple, like what computers experience when they practice zazen. And it is, my brothers and sisters, it is very simple. Therein lies the beauty of Avoid! (I bet that exclamation point was jarring), a compilation of short vignettes by Alex Miller that plays off the theme of avoidance.

Strawberry Cafe Escape Sometimes it's nice to kick back, relax, and enjoy the scenery and the truly casual gameplay of a room escape. The puzzles themselves are tricky without being difficult, adding to the relaxation factor. While there is only one way out, there are three different endings based on your methodology. Having trouble getting over the mid-week hump? Then sit down, relax, pour a drink, and spend a little time escaping the Strawberry Cafe.

Tammy Jo Superstar Tammy Jo knows she could do a better job than the hotel's in-house singer, Neel, who's been driving customers away for years, and her boss is finally giving her a chance to prove it in this quirky point-and-click adventure from Carmel Games.

King William's Chocolate Challenge Kanoti's short point-and-click puzzle might be aimed primarily at young kids, but that doesn't mean anyone can't enjoy it! Play as an assistant to the official Hot Chocolate Dude (yes, that's now his official name) attempting to deliver the royal frothing spoon before the King gets his daily cup. Short but definitely sweet, this is one game that's exceptionally easy but also packs in a lot of charm and silliness.

So Happy Birthday 2008!

Yes, you read that right. Well... what else do you use jam for? If you're a fan of the genre, you'll be hard pressed not to like this one; it's silly, beautifully designed, fun, and just like Grandma used to make.

Building Blaster 2 The fun thing about video games is that they let us simulate actions that we would otherwise be unable to experience. Building Blaster 2 is a physics puzzle game from 2DPlay that lets you enjoy all the fun of blowing up buildings, with none of the risk of blowing up yourself. Plus, real demolitionists seldom get to use aliens in their line of work. Gamers 1, Demolitionists 0.

Dinowaurs Dinowaurs from Intuition Games shows us that stone-aged humans were well-versed in the art of strapping large implements onto the backs of dinosaurs for their own advancement. At its core, this is a projectile game in the vein of Worms or Scorched Earth. The goal is not only to destroy your opponent's dinosaur, but also to take over their villages. The art style is fun and care-free, the music is catchy, and the weapons are weird. If you're looking for an escape from the ordinary projectile game, and a chance to interact with actual human beings, give Dinowaurs a go.

So if Blobble Wars, the new action game with a dash of strategy from J. Appleyard, gives you a green blobble spitting tower, then red, yellow, blue and grey towers better watch their backs, yo.

Confined For those who enjoyed the previously reviewed Ambivalence, there's a brand new game, Confined, just released today from the same Japanese developer, FonGeBooN. This appears to be a fairly standard point-and-click room escape game until you dig a little deeper. Running Ink Running Ink, by Spelgrim, is a new paper parkour platformer with an artistic style that is uniquely inky, with drips and smears aplenty. As the work draws inspiration from free-running, momentum control and quick reactions are vital to gameplay. It doesn't have a huge amount of depth and it's a bit short, but Running Ink's visuals and gameplay make for a fun well to dip a pen in for a half-hour.

Putt Base A sort of physics-based puzzler, Putt Base tasks you with holes that would make a mini-putt master balk, and then asks that you complete each with a hole-in-one. Sound impossible? Don't worry, to your credit you get to edit the course to your liking with a limited number of several different blocks that can change the direction your ball travels, give it a little boost, or nullify the bounce while increasing momentum.

Chick Hide and Seek 14 Seek out a half-score of hens and escape the cabin in Yuri's Chick Hide and Seek 14. Interface issues mar the sweetness, but overall Chick Hide and Seek 14 has a comforting familiarity to it that will go great with an afternoon cocoa break.

Spy In Filipe Sheepwolf's stealth game, not only do you need to figure out how to solve puzzles to manipulate the enemy territory, you've got to do it without attracting any attention, and banging into walls or sailing in front of a security camera tends to hinder that. Newton, Newton, what hast thou donest. For fans of the genre it should be even more enjoyable, and the cinematics are quite cool, even if the plot is a little hokey. Elite players, get ready to mock us lesser mortals. The rest of you, grab your favorite sugary comestible and try your best.

Alice House 2 No.01: Looking Glass House Funkyland leads us down the rabbit hole into Wonderland once more with another short but stylish and subtly whimsical escape! Find all five objects bearing the image of the White King if you ever want to get out!

Even it if means strapping a rocket to his back and launching himself to space, ol' Saint Nick will deliver those gifts if its the last thing he does! Berzerk Studios brings you Santa Rocket, and while not particularly innovative for the arcade launch genre, it is a solid holiday work.

White Door Room Escape Another day, another room to find yourself inexplicably locked within. Clever puzzles await you within the mysterious room with the white door, and you'll need to find the three wooden tokens to escape this time!

Bread Duck The star of Kyle Rodgers' Bread Duck is a duck that's a loaf of bread. Who rescues kitties. Do you really need anything else, internet? Well, if you do, it's a fun little retro puzzle platformer, whose chirpy chiptune soundtrack and off-kilter humor will keep you playing.

Magic Safari Magic Safari, a physics puzzler by ConmerGameStudios, is based around driving through levels that you affect with a variety of commands, and it has some unique and original level design. Most importantly though, it stars an ape in an umbrella hat that drives a tiny car.

Danger Dungeon Danger Dungeon is a fun little exploration-based action RPG from InsaneHero. There's a huge world to explore, with some cool pre-rendered 3D graphics to look at and a ton of ways to customize your character to your play-style. Some aspects feel a little rushed: particularly noticeable is how your CPU allies have the kind of AI that flits back and forth between "useless" and "suicidal". Overall, though, it makes for a fun love letter to old-school dungeon crawlers and should satisfy anyone looking for a little fantasy action during their coffee break

The Labyrinth of Keys Calling it "The Labyrinth of Keys" is a bit of a misnomer. Perhaps it would better be called "The Labyrinth of One Key". After all, you only get one key, and you've got to use it wisely if you want to have any hope of escaping in Matthew Rodriguez's action-puzzle-platformer game of the same name.

Lazy Thief Laziness is a matter of pride for the hero of this physics-based skill game. You have to lob various projectiles to knock the precious gems onto color-coded platforms, being sure not to let them land in the lava. Because what else are you going to do? Climb all the way up there? Sounds like work....

Hivex You've only got a few clicks to light all the hexagons up in this simple but stylish puzzle game by Kings Kollege, also free for Android. Click a tile to turn on all the adjacent ones, but watch out! In later levels, some tiles can only be manipulated a few times, or not at all.

Wiclimo Fresh from the Tonypa laboratories, we find ourselves with Wiclimo, a game of experimentation and discovery. Scattered across each level is an array of shapes in varying colors. As you move your mouse across the shapes, you'll eventually find one that will give you a "ping." That will be your starting point.

Creepo's Tales: Friday the 13th Pedro was out hiking, but now he's trapped in a national park thanks to a crazed killer. Outwitting the madman might not take a whole lot of effort, but Carmel Games still deliver a cutely creepy point-and-click game that hopefully gets a meatier follow-up.

Harmony Keeper Ah, the cosmos. It contains the whole of everything that is, was and shall be. It is filled with the awe-inspiring beauty of the nebulae, the quasars and the familiar stars. Science cannot know how big the universe is, nor can it count the number of planets or star. Every time we get close to an exact figure, a giant space whale, dubbed Harmony Keeper, starts devouring celestial bodies. Or at least, that's what this latest action/arcade title from Mofunzone teaches us.

Alice House 2 No.09: Alice's Dinner Party What kind of a dinner party is it if you don't use pictures of yourself for decorations? Find the five items bearing the image of Queen Alice to find a way out of this short and whimsical escape game from Funkyland.

Nosobow Your job in Nosobow, the newest creation from Tonypa, is to eliminate the non-matching tiles from the screen, while clicking a member of a pair puts you in jeopardy of losing the game. Behind the brilliantly simple design lies a intricate psychological game of self-pacing and concentration that will have you groaning in anguish every time you have to start back at square one.

Wondermind Do you think that art and science enhance each other? That's the basic premise in Wondermind, a set of four mini-games that are not only fun to play, but also serve to illustrate the fascinating ways our brains work. The mini-games are all of classic type: a card matching game, a pipe connecting game, a path drawing game, and a light angling game. The game is aimed at kids, but while adults might find it a bit easy, it's certainly beautiful enough to reel anyone in, and the facts taught about the mind are, well, yes, wondrous.

Galactic Commandos You control three different characters: a hulking heavy weapons master, a stealthy ninja scout, and a shield-bearing defense specialist. They are the Galactic Commandoes, and they're here to solve a series of platform/puzzle levels using their unique strengths and abilities! Yeah, teamwork!

Mosaic Mingle Jump in the line, rock the mosaic in time! In Mosaic Mingle, you've got to rebuild a picture one tile at a time, but you've got to use the tiles in the order given to you. The tiles are slid in from the edges, so you've got to be careful you don't block yourself out! This is one puzzle that looks easy, but has a surprising edge of trickiness up its sleeve... Its ruffled, multicolored sleeve. Conga line!

Kamikaze Blocks Fire off your green kamikaze dude towards a series of colored blocks in Kamikaze Blocks, a multi-level physics puzzle game. Watch as green om-nom monsters devour your geometric offerings in the clouds below. Earn achievements and challenge yourself in Puzzle or Arcade mode.

Bubblequod 2 Help save your brother from a labyrinthine rubber duck factory in this quirky physics puzzle platformer from Garbuz Games. Oh, and beware the pools of deadly acid. Those can really put a damper on your day.

Keep An Eye So, don't ask too many questions, but someone needs an eye and we're going to get it to them. What do they need the eye for? That would be a question, wouldn't it? In Keep an Eye, a cute little physics puzzle by Dim Light and ArcadeHero, you get to manipulate a variety of cute little telekinetic creatures into doing your bidding. It's engaging, entertaining, difficult, and probably much nicer than throwing a real eye around.

Find the Escape-Men 58: in the Studio How can you win the woman of your dreams? Well, if you're a painter, it's by buckling down and creating a masterpiece in your studio... right after you track down all the little green men hiding throughout the place, of course. Another short, simple, and sweet escape from no1game!

Rmvblls Rmvblls is a goal-based action game in which the objective is to remove the required number of balls from play. It represents designer Eduardo Omine's first entry into one of our competitions, and hopefully not the last! The CGDC4 Ball Physics theme is implemented in a fairly straightforward manner, with four kinds of balls bouncing around the screen like they're on a pocketless pool table.

Pakkuman's Defense You've got a few minutes before you have to be at work. That means it's time for a game! But what to play, Pac-Man or a tower defense game? How about both? From Tametick, the creator of Cardinal Quest, comes Pakkuman's Defense, a surprisingly superb melding of the classic arcade game Pac-Man and a modern tower defense game. There are ghosts. There are dots to eat. There are towers to place. And yes, you're going to have a blast with this unusual hybrid!

Kidnapped by Aliens In Kidnapped by Aliens, previously unsung developer Selfdefiant tells the story of a human protagonist who has been kidnapped, and awaits who-knows-what from his captors. By the use of a little ingenuity, our hero manages to escape his cell and explore more areas of the UFO that contains him, with the ultimate goal of returning to Earth... perhaps. The surreal but perfect background sound and puzzles that make sense without being too obvious turn this game into an enjoyable experience.

Tumaru Detarou delivers once again in this challenging yet surreal escape game that also holds a weird sort of logic if you know how to look at it. With five endings to uncover, a depressed man stuck in a wall, accusatory children, and an ineffective superhero, it's every bit as strange as you might expect, and a welcome bit of escaping for your brain.
