Rainbogeddon Nitrome's Rainbogeddon is a retro-riffic, Pacman-esque quarter-grabber updated for the twenty-first century. The addition of power-ups, destructible level, and more varied enemies makes for a surprisingly strategic twist on a familiar classic. Add a very '80s presentation and Nitrome's trademark charm, and you've got a fine modern take on vintage arcade gaming without ever having to go to the arcade.

Poom! Poom! is an action arcade game in which the objective is to bounce a ball, for as long as possible, on a randomly generated platform. The tricky part is the platform, as it randomly changes each time the ball bounces on it. It may even be composed of several missing tiles that the ball will fall through. If the ball falls through or misses the platform completely, the game is over.

Bunny Flags 2 The bunnies are back, and so are the thumbs! In this sequel to 2010's popular defense shooter hybrid, it's your goal to help these harsh hares defend their flags and territory against incoming disembodied thumbs who are covered in snot and drive jeeps and throw hadokens... as thumbs often do, naturally. Place defenses, spend upgrade points, and earn higher rankings across a variety of stages in this wildly silly but creative game.

Blueprint Blueprint is a brand new blue brainteaser similar in concept to the previously reviewed CCL Game and to the Incredible Machine series of games from as far back as 1993. The object of the game is to arrange the component parts on the play field so that when the ball is released it will hit the target.

Tactics Arena Online From Digital Seed Entertainment comes Tactics Arena Online (TAO), a turn based strategy game the likes of Final Fantasy. By commanding an army of characters on a battlefield, your goal is to decimate your opponents team in a battle of weapons and abilities.

Leaf Me Alone The scores have been tabulated and the results are in: the overall winner of the minimalism-themed Ludum Dare 26 72-hour Game Jam is Leaf Me Alone, a retro Metroidvania-style platformer by Mark Foster and David Fenn. Now, "minimalism" and "Metroidvania" aren't two words that usually go together, but Foster and Fenn has put together a wonderful little world for a pixelated-blob-type-thing to explore, if one that could use a little more direction from time to time.

Scarygirl At first glance, Scarygirl comes at you blazing on all cylinders like a triumph in Flash game production values. From the very start of the introductory cinematic sequence, the player is offered a glimpse at what appears to be one of the most fantastic Flash games to ever appear on the Web. In the end, the good outweighs the bad. Players can put up with loose controls, slipping and sliding their way through levels, when the brilliance of the rest of the game is so appealing. Every element combines to lift Scarygirl above the competition, serving to create one of the most exasperating yet fulfilling Flash games available today.

A Small Talk At The Back Of Beyond An experimental text-based adventure game from ScriptWelder that has you waking up disoriented in an unknown place, trying to get information from a source that not too eager to give anything away. Grey How far are you willing to go for someone who doesn't even seem to know you're there? In this short, atmospheric artsy platformer, scour a grim world looking for bits of colour to return to a loved one, even at the cost of losing yourself in the process. Originally featured in a Link Dump Friday article, Grey's simple, repetitive gameplay may not win everyone over, but for others the changing environment and wordless message may deliver an intensely personal experience.

Reachin' Pichin Poor little Pichin can barely manage a jump, and apparently this fills its creator with disgust. In Reachin' Pichin, the debut from Malaysian game makers Kurechii, a sympathetic lab assistant helps Pichin launch up into the sky, grab all the money and gems conveniently floating around up there, and use them to evolve into something that will make its creator proud.

Goliath The Soothsayer An adventure game designed by Ben Leffler (of Exmortis series fame) to promote the upcoming Mars Volta release, The Bedlam In Goliath. The story is based on the experience of the band's sick guitarist, Omar Rodriguez-Lopez, who goes to Jerusalem for vacation and walks into a curiosity shop. Of course, when you walk into a curio shop in Jerusalem you're bound to leave with a demonically enchanted artifact, right?

Flood Runner 3: Armageddon Bored with running games such as Canabalt and Robot Unicorn Attack? You should be, because they don't have giant squids, lava, lightning, oil slicks, and main characters who are on fire. Flood Runner 3: Armageddon, however, does. We mentioned Clockwork Monster's Flood Runner 2 in a previous Link Dump Friday, and this one's got even more over-the-top action to help you feel like a demi-god dashing through the mortal realms.

Prior You wake up alone and abandoned in a cell, with no clue as to the big W's; Why are you here? What's going on? Who are you? This short little puzzle/platformer is a moody bit of storytelling from KrangGames that shows sometimes you don't have to say a word to tell a compelling story.

Orpheus Developed in 8 weeks as a class project, Orpheus is a puzzle platform retelling of the classic myth of a man's quest to bring his love back from the dead. Players who can look past a few rough edges will be amply rewarded with the lush and abstract yet accessible art.

Monkey GO Happy Tales Some words to the wise: do not trust your little ones to Pencil Kids' band of sad simians for safe keeping as they can't stop losing their own monkey babies. Which means you get to go on another point-and-click adventure, this time in the form of five short, self-contained tales. By exploring each stage, finding and using items, and solving a few simple puzzles, you can rescue the mini monkeys and turn tears into cheers.

Ubooly and Friends It's hide-and-puzzle time with Ubooly and Friends! All twelve of Ubooly's friends are hiding somewhere on the nine-screen map, and the only way to reveal them is to point and click around and solve puzzles relating the the clues they give. If this premise sounds familiar, it should— its author, BenRadish of BeardShaker Games, was also the one behind Tanooky Tracks, which is very similar both in art style and in gameplay, and there's no reason to complain about that. The puzzles are logical and well-designed, the tropical environment is well implemented, and the graphics and audio have a charm all their own.

Papa's Donuteria Flipline serves up something sweet in their latest challenging addition to their addictive simulation series. Neptune Neptune is quite different from GUMP's previous room-escape games. It doesn't begin with an interesting introductory movie in which a pink-haired character does not encounter a huge building and doesn't decide to enter it, not passing an enigmatic red ladies' shoe that isn't resting on the ground outside.

Hood: Episode 4 Come one last time to Hyptosis' fairy tale world of magic and arcane science for the final installment of the atmospheric point-and-click adventure saga as you search for the girl with the read cloak in Hood: Episode 4. Solid plotting and programming uphold a equally eerie and humorous finale, albeit one with some obtuse puzzles.

Ninja-Pi-Ro Control three different characters to help recover a stolen diamond in this latest charming point-and-click adventure from Pencilkids. What do you get when you cross a ninja, a pirate, and a robot? Aside from some prime sitcom material, you get the greatest little team capable of taking on anything. Provided "anything" means, apparently, Romanian vikings.

Evacuation A new retro-styled puzzle game from Ryan Chisholm and Bennett Foddy, Evacuation puts you in control of the fate of a space station invaded by aliens. Click on escape hatches to open them and evacuate the aliens to space without sacrificing any of the human inhabitants of the station. Randomly generated levels provide enough reason to keep coming back to this one.

Monkey GO Happy Eggs When you're that special sort of sad that only one hundred hidden Easter eggs will cure, Pencilkids' monkeys have your back! Click around, explore, solve puzzles, and above all, check under every rock and bush in this short and sweet Monkey GO Happy game.

Charisma In Charisma, you play an orange-jumpsuited, blue-afroed dude who is trapped within what appears to be a combination living room/recording studio. There is a second gentleman inscrutably watching you from behind a glass partition, his hand poised above two buttons. He, for whatever reason, is not going to be of any help (and, in another departure from reality, smashing the glass and demanding he release you is not an option). So, it's up to you to explore the room, figure out what he wants and, eventually, set yourself free.

Cursor*10 [2nd Session] Yoshio Ishii (Nekogames) has just released a sequel to his unique, if no frills, self-cooperative game, Cursor*10. The update, aptly named Cursor*10 2nd Session, offers a whole new set of levels with the premise and objective still the same: You're a cursor in a tower. You have to reach the 16th floor in 10 lives, but your lifespan is rather short. And not only that, all your previous lives are being replayed, in real time, at the same time as you play. You will have to think on your feet and use cunning and puzzle-solving prowess to get through all 16 levels before your lives (and time) run out.

The Haunted Ruins Hop into the Wayback Machine with Taro Ito's dungeon crawling RPG that hearkens back to a simpler time in gaming. How simple? Well, there's an evil witch, a magic orb, a tiny village, and a big, sprawling set of ruins full of monsters just waiting for you to hack and slash your way through. A loving homage to the earlier days of RPGs, The Haunted Ruins has a few surprises and is a simple but enjoyable romp with a lot of classic flair.

The Organ Trail The internet loves nostalgia! The internet loves zombies! What do you get when you take these two great tastes that taste great together? However, this time your Conestoga is replaced by a station wagon, there are no buffalo, and, oh yeah, there are legions of the undead just waiting for a good ol' fashioned brain chomping. Haunted Halloween Escape Haunted Halloween Escape drops you into a room full of spooky features and creatures. TeraLumina knows how to make a good game; the atmosphere is excellent, with the graphics and sound adding perfectly to it without being too distracting, and the puzzles flow just fine. Even the added challenge of making the game Halloween-themed didn't affect its quality. It's an excellent escape, and if you'd like a little Halloween in your day, here it is.

Room Fake Room Fake is just one of those games that makes me smile: a good-looking, nicely thought out room escape game with difficult but not confounding puzzles, a save feature(!) and not too much text to exacerbate the language barrier. It is also somewhat reminiscent of Japanese developer Neutral's offerings with its clean, pre-rendered 3D model surroundings.

Love's Cadence In this short yet beautifully artistic puzzle platform adventure decisions become turning points after two basic choices: evolve or destroy? Guide Cadence, the title character, through a series of decisions, each determining how the story continues. Love's Cadence is as much a thought-provoking poem as a game and should be appreciated for how its graphics, narrative elements and game play coalesce into a melodious composition.

A devious puzzle-platformer with a sleek style that serves as a prequel to 2009's The Company of Myself.

Pirates of the Undead Sea: Rise of the Ribcage While zombies are perhaps over-common, and pirates are getting there, casual gaming doesn't have nearly enough zombie-pirates. Captain Black Sam has spent years sailing the seven seas plundering and pillaging. After a night of too much rum, he wakes up to find his ship at the bottom of the ocean... and after fifteen years of decaying and trying to figure out why he isn't dead too, a chance mermaid-sighting convinces him the time is nigh to set out on another grand adventure. By using the keyboard, you can fling your hands to nearby grips, moving one arm at a time to ascend the wall. If you played QWOP, you know this isn't a game of slow precision. If you're astute, then you could probably assume from either the game's title or from the developer's name that this trading card game is one steeped in H.P. Lovecraft's Cthulhu mythos.

Hide Snowman We all know the life of a snowball is short and packed with excitement. But it's not all high flying arcs and battle cries, as Godvil Games shows us in the festive Hide Snowman. What are you waiting for? The snowmen are counting on you!

Blocks & Lots Get in the zone and get ready for a zoning challenge! Blocks & Lots is a nifty educational puzzle where you've got to reallocate the lots of the city of Solano Heights to make everyone happy. But the city's stakeholders aren't easy to please! Tulip wants more parks, but Everett wants more big apartments, and JT wants more manufacturing space. There might not be a way to please everyone, but the fun is in trying to craft solutions that gets you darned close.

Tau'ri Bedrock Tau'Ri Bedrock by Luca Deltodesco is an unusual and original platformer. In Bedrock you play a... slime? blob? that has been tasked to roll a boulder through levels upon levels of verdant terrain in order to return it to its parent rock. It's a lot like a simplified version of Loco Roco melded with the indie title Gish.

NFH Propaganda NFH Propaganda is a creepy point-and-click adventure game created using a combination of Flash and a series of HTML pages. The result is highly reminiscent of the 99 Rooms, and as equally artistic: just replace all the graffiti with ghoulish animation and weirdness.

Wogger Created by Bernd Mattiebe of Germany, Wogger is a multi-level, point-and-click surrealistic adventure in the same vein as the venerable Samorost. While much of the game is finding the correct click spot to move the story forward, there are a couple of puzzles that will pose a challenge for some.

Use Boxmen In Greg Sergeant's aptly titled puzzle platformer, Use Boxmen, you, believe it or not, use boxmen to collect boxes. It sounds fairly simple and straightforward, but it's not, really. Some puzzles require you to think outside the box to reach their oftentimes very clever solution. Solving puzzles is only half the battle, however, as Use Boxmen takes its platforming element very seriously.
