Untangle All you need to do in this elegant minimalistic game from FRVR is drag the nodes around to untangle the mess of lines in the starry sky so that none of them overlap. It should be easy, but as the shapes rapidly get more complex with piles of lines, it becomes anything but!

Cyad 2 So, you think you're the Sultan of Sokoban? The Titan of Tiles? The Big Cheese of Block Pushing? HA! Let's see how you fare now that James Newcombe has come back with a new release in his popular Amiga-inspired Cyadonia series. There'll be all sorts of things to trip you up: mines, arrows, pushblocks, dissolvers, switches, glue patches, bounce-backs, teleporters, one-way walls, and much, much more. It's Cyad 2, and it's ready to bring you all the pleasures of pure puzzling.

Frantic 3 Polymer Rabbit kicks it up a notch with the next entry in their top-down shooters with Frantic 3. More levels, more bullets (and let's not forget bigger bullets too)... they're just gonna throw everything they can at you. But you can take it cause you're a lean, mean, projectile-avoiding, shooting machine. Seriously, your ship's set to auto-fire. At least that's one less thing to worry about as you weave your way through 15 stages (plus 15 more bonus stages) of bullet hell.

Catchy Orbit Everybody likes explosions, right? In Catchy Orbit, all you have to do is launch some balls into others and see how big a boom you can get. With three different kinds of balls and twenty-two levels to enjoy, this is a casual, yet exciting one-button puzzler.

Pixel Pop A rhythm-based Wario Ware type of game from Nitrome, in which you play colorful mini-game levels with a musical timing element. Destroy attacking fighters and tanks as Godzilla! Stake vampires as they rise in their coffins! Um...eat...stuff. It's all here, with three difficulty levels across four distinct stages, a different song in each level, and a final "mix-tape" stage that surreally switches context between the stages over the course of the song.

Robot Mom Home. It's the only thing E.T. wanted. And to reunite with his robot family is all this adorable mechanical youngster wants in this whimsical point-and-click story from BeGamer. Help him get back to Earth by clicking the right places and in the proper order. Odd-yet-entertaining, although not as strange as Minoto, there's as much fun in watching each scene unfold as in figuring out how to get there.

Serendipity in 2D Serendipity in 2D is an arty game, maybe even an experimental one. You view a hospital from the side, the walls cut away. With your far-reaching cursor you have to orchestrate chains of events that will ultimately lead to three things: someone being saved, someone finding love and someone dying.

Loom Custody Loom Custody is the latest escape game from Place of Light. In it you wake to find yourself ensconced in a grimy, nearly-bare cell. The blue sky glimpsed through a high window grate is the sole spot of cheer in your bleak prison; with a bit of exploration, however, you will find that the room is far more intriguing and complex than it first appears. To have any chance of escape, you must discover clues, solve puzzles and use all of the limited resources at your disposal.

Casual Space Reach for the stars — literally — in Casual Space, where treasure, danger, and secrets are sprawled across two enormous maps comprising over 40 levels of spacey action! Balancing a quirky, kid-friendly presentation with some genuinely challenging gameplay, Casual Space is good casual fun for all ages.

Zipzip: Secret Dimension Our little hero feels out of place and ignored by society, but a new power to manipulate shapes might bring him the wrong kind of attention. A strange and somewhat clunky but silly little narrative wrapped up in a physics puzzle platformer, with some good old fashioned ancient cult business as the cherry on top.

Draw-Play 3 A follow-up to the original Draw Play, Draw Play 3 retains most of what made the original so interesting and introduces a more action-oriented approach to gaming. Like any platformer around, you control a little character who must jump and run to the flag at the end of each stage. The catch is that in Draw Play you create the platforms. Make stairs, hop from ledge to ledge, or use the pen and push yourself up as you move.

Growbox Growbox puts you in control of a hungry little square whose mission is to devour golden dots. Nom them all up, then move on to the next level where you get to do it again! Why? We're never told, but I like to believe that the dots are ninja dots who kidnapped the dot President, and you're a bad enough square to rescue him.

Town of Fears Detective Marco is having a rough week. There's a serial killer on the loose, the professor he wished to consult has run off to the spooky town of Kraig Rock, and there's all these friggin' dire wolves on the prowl. Even as a typically hard-boiled Visual Novel action-RPG protagonist, he'll need all of his skills and the support of all of Kraig Rock's mysterious inhabitants if he hopes to unravel all the mysteries of the Town of Fears.

Combat Hero Adventures Simple does not mean that there's any less action, it just means there's more bullets and less to think about. No grenades, one weapon at a time, simple weapon shop and upgrades, it all means nothing but twitchy shooting action, one hundred percent of the time. Some might call it shallow, but I'd call it pure.

Gride Gride is an arcade-style action game in which the objective is to apply and remove abilities to an always-moving little pink sedan at just the right moments to make it as far as you can along the never-ending terrain. It was good enough to take 3rd place in our 5th game design competition, and it earned the coveted Viral award by receiving more than one million views more than the next most played game!

Reaching Finality Don't you just hate it when you're sleeping soundly and a lost soul enters your body and politely requests you help it get back to the afterlife? In Cory Martin's lovely little action RPG Reaching Finality, you're one such lucky person, helping out a spirit by fighting your way through forest and dungeon armed with little more than a pitchfork and a fancy straw hat. Not that the hat does anything other than make you look cool, of course.

Nightmare Runner When you're trapped in a world filled with nightmares made flesh and are out for YOUR blood, your best bet is to... RUN FOR YOUR LIFE! Nightmare Runner puts you in the depths of hell in this run and jump shooting game built with a player level upgrade system and in-game pick ups to aid in your escape. With an ambient choir-meets-action movie soundtrack and an easy one button click interface, you get easily entranced into 2D world that flows smoothly with the music and the difficulty. You have an infinite clip of bullets and finite distance to travel for salvation so this evil can be trounced in a single, well-lit sitting.

Effing Worms 2 The Effing Worms are back? Wait... We're the ones controlling them? Never mind then. Lets wreak some havoc! Effing Worms 2, an arcade action game developed by Effing Games (naturally), has the player guiding the actions of their very own voracious subterranean beast. It can't really be called a particularly deep game, but it has that visceral kind of DESTROY EVERYTHING! fun that will never go out of style.

Mission in Snowdriftland: <br />Indie Games Edition Mark your calendars and set your bookmarks, Mission in Snowdriftland is back to entertain us once again with its joy-inducing classic-style platforming gameplay set against the backdrop of a cheerful holiday advent calendar. Beginning today and continuing right up through Christmas Eve, a new level will be unlocked to play each day as we march closer to that most joyous of holidays filled with presents, friends and family gatherings.

Find the Escape Men 43: EM-taro This week's featured escape game is a new installment of finding those elusive green guys that point the way out in Find the Escape Men 43: EM-taro, No1Game's epic serial about escaping ...whatever room they happen to be in this time around. Think of Find the Escape-Men 43: EM-taro not as a feature film but as a lovely animated short, something to hold your attention for ten minutes or so and provide a lovely mid-week break.

Chromatic Think you got skills? Swap back and forth between colors and test your brains and your fingers in this tough as nails platformer. Despite being insanely hard and none too friendly to the color blind, Chromatic is itself an awesome achievement. It molds together blistering skill platforming with puzzle platforming whilst injecting a unique concept into the gameplay, and it does this with few hiccups and awesome production values.

Forever Samurai Slash your way through monsters of myth and legend in this off-kilter side-scroller where you play as a lone samurai, pursuing a great dragon. Master special moves before they master you, buy upgrades, and drink in the sleek scenery as you race towards your destiny.

Scuttle Buggery Your role in Scuttle Buggery is that of of a lowly beetle, trudging through a grimy, moth-infested world stitched together from burnt paper and rusty typewriter parts. Your burden is to find drops of oil and liquor near the discarded musty bottles from which they spew, and push them into the appropriate drains. The artwork is sumptuously detailed, perfectly matched to the music, full of decadent textures and decay. The liquid transparency effects are especially noteworthy, but everything, right down to the creepy flutter of a moth's wings, has been rendered with sickly beauty and realism.

Firebug 2 The Podge's cute, cuddly, and ever-infernoey insect is back to set the world on fire once again in the puzzle platformer, Firebug 2. As before, the gimmick is that the protagonist will set everything he touches on fire, making speed a larger element than in most puzzle platformers. Refinement of the original's already fun gameplay, makes for a game that's a great for burning through a coffee break.

Medieval Shark It seems that Ye Olde Sharke has managed to find Ye Olde Tyme Machyne, and used it to transport himself to a feeding frenzy that only the middle ages could possibly provide. Mausland Entertainment presents: Medieval Shark. a fast-paced action game starring a creature hungry for a little bit more than a turkey leg from the county Renn Faire. Splitman 2 If I were a Splitman, all day long I'd use rotating saws to split myself into multiple copies and make my way through a puzzle platforming world. Mars Commando In the year 2049, all the water on Earth has been depleted. The nearest source of the good stuff is our friendly neighborhood Mars. So... let's go get it, shall we? Mars Commando is a defense game that emphasizes unit placement and strategy over swarms of soldiers, allowing you to earn the satisfaction of eradicating thousands of aliens with half a dozen of your own troops.

Ossuary: The Hodge/Podge Transformer Created as a prologue/demo/companion piece to the commercial indie title Ossuary, this strange and somewhat unsettling adventure will take you on a psychological and philosophical narrative as you unravel what happened to cause your journey to be thrown off tilt on your way to the Place of Bones.

Shy Dwarf (Plachy Trpaslik) Shy Dwarf is a gorgeously animated little adventure where you play as a little black blob with a jaunty red hat. But Shy Dwarf is something of an enigma. Fun, short, and completely baffling. We're not sure exactly what it all means, or if it's supposed to mean anything at all. Whatever the case, we couldn't resist its unmistakable charm.

Cat God vs. Sun King Cat God vs. Sun King is an interesting volley into the defense genre: the enemy is sending waves upon waves in an attempt to build a tower, and you're purely and simply trying to destroy them all. Plus you're a cute little cat. The more you use abilities, the cheaper, quicker and more powerful they will get, up to a max of three levels per skill. Once you kill every enemy, you win the level.

Vampire Skills Aah, to be young again. To experience the thrills of the imagination. To not pay income taxes. To prowl about the night hypnotizing people, utilizing my super strength powers, flying like a bat, and unleashing telekinetic powers that can do virtually anything I desire. While that may not exactly be the childhood of anyone reading this review (or writing it, for that matter), in the point-and-click puzzle game Vampire Skills, you take on the role of a young vampire (is that even possible?) learning to use his skills. And yes, it's about as whimsical as it sounds!

GUI Game by Athletic Design is one of those point-and-click puzzle games that have you blitzing through a series of near-identical screens with a crafty puzzle to solve for each. However, here the Graphical User Interface is what poses the challenges, and you'll need every trick and option you can access to triumph. Perhaps it's a little too aware of it's own cleverness, but GUI Game is great game for shaking the cobwebs from the lateral thinking parts of the brain.

The Little Girl Nobody Liked A nice piece of interactive art, The Little Girl Nobody Liked is a picture-perfect picture book minigame by Deirdra Kiai. Enchanted Room Escape Strawberry Cafe designed room escape games usually contain a luscious mix of reds, pinks, and whites that together evoke images of strawberry desserts, and Enchanted Room Escape is true to form. Challenge Accepted We get you. You're too cool for regular platformers, right? They're so boring. So easy. Then why don't you bring your swagger on over to this tricky puzzle platformer and help one cool cat reach his goal. Can you make it to the exit? How about while only moving left? Without jumping? Within a time limit? You'll need quick reflexes, a cool head, and a dose of patience to proceed.

Monster Corp Werewolves, dragons, and mermaids, oh my! LittleGiantWorld puts you in control of every monster ever, but the goal is less world domination and more sweet moolah. Gather new creature DNA to create and manage a zoo/expo hall/what could possibly go wrong facility for the customers to visit and bring in more money. Despite some repetition, it's a cartoony, appealing little time management simulation worth a look.

Three Cats in Halloween It's Halloween, and everyone's out trick-or-treating, including Japanese developer Choko-Chai's trademark three cats. When they visit the wrong house and end up locked inside, though, it's time once again for them to escape. Choko-Chai's games have a charm all their own; the puzzles are neither too challenging nor too easy, there's a changing cursor right where it counts, the cats' animated antics are hard to tire of, and the one time there's a puzzle that requires knowledge of something Japanese, the creator provides a Wikipedia link.

Alice House No.2: The Pool of Tears Things are getting curiouser and curiouser as we continue our way through FunkyLand's version of the Alice in Wonderland story. This time around it's five dodoes you must find before you can escape-the-room. The room being a stately hallway with lots of doors but no apparent way out. Very strange. Alice may have cried a pool of tears to be stuck in such a pickle, but if you're resourceful, you'll soon find your way through.

Amil Sure, he may look like a footlocker and have unsettling pink bags under his eyes, but if your dog or cat or other pet should ever fall down a mine shaft leading to a subterranean geothermic engineering project of dubious provenance, Amil is your go-to fellow. Created by Robert Stone, Amil is a gravity-switching platformer with retro stylings and just a scintilla of RPG flavor.

What's down there? Cake and ice cream? Play Plumet 2, a simple but addictive action game from Person333 to find out.

Lift For Life Lift for Life is an escape game by SuzumeDr, whom you may remember for Triangle a while back. The game takes place in a room with a somewhat athletic theme, as well as an adjustable glass table that's a little too low, a nice TV hooked to a game console, two strange pedestals that seem to react to one another, and a few other fixings. Naturally, you've got some puzzle-solving and some inventory management to do. It's a splendid escaper that's definitely worth a try to break up your weekday blues, so go out there and get your Lift on! For Life!

Inush Escape 3 Short but oh so sweet, this little escape game by Inush has you working together with a pup simultaneously to solve puzzles in order to get outside! It's cute enough to give you cavities, AND it's got two endings!

Christmas Eve (Escape) Enjoy the anticipation of Christmas Eve year-round with this amusing room escape packed with an astonishing number of puzzles for such a small room. The basic premise of the game is simple: it is Christmas Eve, your boyfriend is on his way over, the tree is not decorated, and you can't remember where you stored the ornaments. Can you decorate before your date arrives? Better hope so!

Escape from the Cake Shop After all the predicaments Choko-Chai's three cats have found themselves in, and escaped their way out of, it's their turn to play purrfect heroes when the baker's apprentice is locked inside but can't find the door code. You can help by solving puzzles, unlocking multiple doors and cupboards, until you've found all the ingredients necessary for a cake shop escape!

Schizo-Phrenzy Schizo-Phrenzy is a surreal platform adventure with an art deco look and a discourteous attitude towards gravity. Guide the mentally unwell private investigator John K. Facey on his quest to confront the titanic Mayor and discover the true extent of his own madness. Schizo-Phrenzy will fill your shoes with spider eggs during the night, and if they hatch, you are in real danger of having your privacy invaded.

Llama in Your Face Being a llama does have its good points: you have a trampoline to bounce up and down on all day, your fur is soft and durable, and you can spit like it's nobody's business. Because it's not. You hate those intrusive zoo visitors who keep trying to get up into your face. So spit on them! Use your mouse to aim and then click to spit in this engrossing and fun shooter by Peter Sperl and Simon Parzer. Strategic use of upgrades is required as the later levels become quite difficult but the charm of the wooly jumper is also hard to resist. It begs the question, Which is worse: having a llama face or having llama in your face?

dRive dRive is quite possibly the first calculus-themed game to get a review on this site, but don't go fleeing for the high country quite yet; you don't need to understand the math to play the game. At its core, dRive is a simple "catch the falling objects" game, but the unusual, calculus-based method of controlling three games at once turns dRive into an innovative, fascinating game.

Sword & Spoon So you can run a war, and you can run a kitchen, but this strategy/resource management title wants to know if you can do BOTH at the same time! You have a finite space in your castle with which to build units to defend it, but you also need to build potato farms to feed the men. Protect your castle... and try to keep everyone fed.

Entropic Space In Entropic Space, no one can hear you smash planets together. It's true, sound does not travel in space, but what does travel are "fun-waves", those mysterious quanta of play that science is just beginning to understand. A submission to our 4th Casual Gameplay competition from Studio Cypher, Entropic Space has you pilot an mega-scale space pod that can bump planets into each other, engineering parsec after parsec into entropy.

Last Robot 2 Launch a bouncy robot into space in Last Robot 2, an action platform game by Karma Team. Dodge bombs, leap from clouds, and continue ever upward to stay alive. Along the way, you can collect coins and purchase up to 24 upgrades to make your robot better - faster - stronger! A handful of achievements and an easy learning curve make for an addictive adventure into the cosmos.

zOMT If you were looking for a game that gives you a taste of true omnipotence, zOMT leaves something to be desired. But as a defense game, it's a great deal of fun. Being told that your godly might was at the level of "holy toast" was certainly a spur to keep playing. Conquer all fifteen levels and your power will be unquestioned! At least from here to that torch-thing.

Alphabox A game that combines wordplay with Sokoban-style block pushing? Are they mad?!? Arrange blocks with letters to form words by sliding them into place. Luckily, Alphabox recognizes solutions apart from the one intended, so sometimes you can get creative and mix the letters around, saving a few moves. A level editor extends the replay value of this innovative puzzler.

Cathode Raybots Fight the Cathode Raybots, or join their cause in this over-the-top action shooter by Tom Fulp and the Newgrounds crew. Overwhelming surface flashiness hides an excellent boss-battle creation engine, that those in the community have used to great cleverness.

Penguin sports In January, 2004, Chris Hilgert created a Flash game which spread across the Internet like wildfire. The gameplay mechanics were simple and surprisingly fun: Bat a penguin with a Yeti to see how far you could throw him. Since then, Chris has created a trio of games featuring penguins, a yeti and other arctic mammals, and a fourth one is on the way.

Dots: Revamped Make your score climb by gobbling down green dots while avoiding the green that spawn for each one you eat, but with different characters to unlock and faster, angrier enemies, this little arcade game is simple but addictive!

Mr. MothBall 2: Cotton Carnage Mr. MothBall 2: Cotton Carnage is a charming shooter from Polish artist Mateusz Skutnuk, author of both the Covert Front and Submachine point-and-click series of games. You control a white mothball trying to shoot down evil red mothballs in an adorable penciled world with pastel shading. The game is a spiritual sequel to Mr. MothBall platformer entered in our 4th game design competition.

Six Feet Under Six Feet Under is a Flash game with instructions in German, so here is my take on the action: On the way to the cemetery, Alex, the hearse-driving coffin chauffeur, has to step on the gas to make it to the burial on time. Help Alex deliver the coffin by speeding to the cemetary and launching the coffin into the graveyard.

I Remain It's the end of the world as we know it, and I feel fine... wait, no I don't! As one of the last survivors of a zombie apocalypse, you've managed to hole up inside an abandoned house. But without any supplies, your safe haven is more of a prison. You'll need to find a means of escaping, and it'll take all your point-and-click, combining skills in this horror adventure to do it.

Dopaminium: The Heal Journey The human mind is a very complex thing. A very complex, bizarre, fragile thing which sometimes malfunctions and starts creating all manner of horrors. What horrors, you ask? Step right into Dopaminium: The Heal Journey and see for yourself. In this surreal point-and-click experience, you'll go through different departments of the mind, try to mend an ailing psyche and get utterly creeped out.
