Megadev's addictive match-3 puzzle game series is back, and this time it's also for iOS and Android! Make matches of three or more coloured blobs to increase your score and advance the game, but watch out for skulls, bombs, and more!

What makes a good puzzle game? Over the years, we've seen literally thousands, and some of the twists on the genre the talented indie community has come up with may surprise you! From a reverse escape game to a factory filled with robots and much, much more, here are 12 of the best puzzle games you might not have played.

On the first week of Christmas, my readers I give to thee... one nightmare of a camping trip, two doomed-from-the-start robots, a whole bunch of kingdoms that need sieging, and a bunch of green dudes in a snack bar!... well? When do you think Mariah Carey is going to get back to me about that duet, eh?

Ten seconds isn't a lot of time, but that was the theme of the most recent Ludum Dare competition! This week's Link Dump Friday features several of my favourite entries that played with the theme in some unique ways.
Do you like puzzles? Do you like Tetris? Do you like BUTTER? Megadev's Big-Time Butter Baron combines all three of these in a tricky challenge of block placement set in one of the craziest factories you'll ever see. However, we don't recommend rubbing your toast on your monitor. It's not real butter. It's e-butter.
More arcade avoidance action to be enjoyed in this sequel to the 2009 cat nomming adventure original. Considering how simple yet lovely the original was, it's impressive that Time 4 More Cat manages to improve on it without piling on so much that you lose the addictive ease and simplicity that made it popular to begin with. The art is beautiful, soft, and surreal, while the soundtrack only adds to the dreamlike atmosphere.
Boys and girls, it's Adult Swim time with a delightful yarn of sheep herding from Megadev, an action reflex game. Use your mouse to move the dinosaur (which in turn moves the herd) and click on things that need to be eaten. These do not include the sheep. You will try to eat the sheep, however... the temptation is just too big.
Run, leap, stab, shuriken, and bomb your way to the bottom of a massive, ancient tower filled with deadly enemies and strange environments as you seek a legendary treasure... and die a whole bunch. Megadev and AdultSwim combine to deliver a fast-pasted and challenging arcade platformer with randomly generated items and layouts that will take a lot of skill (and a lot of lives) to beat.
Vanilla, jeans, thunderbolts - there have been many variations and 'improvements', but nothing that beats the original. That also goes for many puzzle games and while people are less inclined to meet an old favourite during an adventure game, on their own they hit the sweet spot. That, more or less, summarises my opinion of Bomboozle 2. It might not break new ground or usher in the new era of 'pop the colors' puzzle games, but this take on a classic isn't broken either!
Play Knight or Princess in this third installment of the Knightfall series. Destroy groups of like colored blocks to help our heroes slay monsters, collect keys, and get safely to the exit. Survive long enough and you may find out what happened to your stolen loot, and what's behind this mysterious "Taxman".
The hams are on the loose! The cutlery is on the march! AND THE GIANT TURTLES ARE STORMING THE BEACH! No time to ask questions, every able-bodied sloth needs to load up his hot-air balloon with unsafe amounts of explosives and strike back! Super Sloth Bomber, from Megadev, is a short but relentlessly cheery, fasted-paced game of bombs and reflexes.
This crazy mash-up of RPG and color-matching puzzle is gorgeous, fun, and addictive. Destroy groups of blocks and rotate the puzzle grid to fight monsters by falling on them from above with your drill lance spinning. Bigger and better than the first Knightfall in every way, with a fleshed-out story, creative boss battles, and more ways to build your character, Knightfall 2 is what a sequel should be.
A mash-up of casual gameplay from the match-3 and RPG genres, Knightfall plays like a cross between Mr. Driller, Same Game and Puzzle Quest. It's a well-balanced and well-executed game with a fun story mode and an unlimited purgatory mode to keep you coming back for more. Achievements add to the addictive quality that Knightfall will bestow upon you.
Time 4 Cat is a mouse avoider game in which your movements also control the enemy, so you can make everyone stop and start, or go faster or slower. Your goal is to hustle through the big city and scoop up all the food that is dropped. Each piece of food has a count-down timer on it, the faster you collect the food the higher your score. What makes this game stand out is the fact that you can slow everything down and go at your own pace.
