Ether Cannon Ether Cannon is a new action shooter from Luke Paakh of Pop Ethos. You control a space ship which is the last hope of... Well it doesn't really say, but it seems urgent. It's a beautiful game, the particle effects in it are just brilliant, and the action it delivers is (mostly) smooth, polished, and pretty refreshing. The game does a great job of delivering lots of fast shoot-em-up fun without ever reaching a plateau.

Garden Door Mateusz Skutnik's picturesque point-and-click escape is much like 10 Gnomes infused with vivid spring colors and sounds then crossed with an escape game. Use your mouse to scan for interactive areas, look for clues and intriguingly useful items. Solve the mystery of the garden door.

Transylvania Transylvania is without a doubt the best point-and-click game about a sleepwalking potato who accidentally drives his car into the depths of hell that I have ever played. The bar has definitely been raised for that particular niche. But be warned: the dangers in this place aren't just of being scared, nor even of being trapped there forever. No, you can expect to die many, many times on your quest to escape back to Miss Potato, often in extremely unfair (but hilarious!) ways.

Cover Orange: Players Pack Aside from an optional "acid" reskin, Cover Orange: Players Pack keeps the same mechanics as its predecessors. That's because this game contains the winners of a level design contest. There were $4000 in prizes, including a $1000 prize for the top level, which is something pretty cool to think about when you're playing it. "This single level cost $1000. Wow. I had better have a really good time." And you will

That said person turns out to be local millionaire Mr. C, whose ailing health has left him in search for a young successor to his empire can only be described as an incredibly convenient coincidence. Still, now opportunity knocks, and if you make some smart choices, you just make make it to the penthouse at 56 Sage Street. A fine financial simulation advergame from Barclays, BBH London and B-Reel that hopes to introduce teens to the world of financial literacy.

Ragdoll Tennis Now you too can hammer desperately at your [arrow] keys while your ragdoll body floats nonchalantly towards the ball in Ragdoll Tennis. Although the game has a definite learning curve, if you stick with it, there's a lot of fun to be had with this one.

Monkey GO Happy Treasure These monkeys need something to turn their frowns upside-down, and luckily the thing that makes them smile makes US smile too... namely fifteen stages of different point-and-click puzzles to solve from PencilKids!

Monkey GO Happy Adventure An evil king has stolen the monkeys' favorite playthings, making them go very sad. Make the monkeys happy again by going on a point-and-click puzzle adventure. Explore the kingdom, gathering up helpful objects and using them correctly to work your way into the castle and rescue the toys. As long as you aren't squeamish about a stinky spider poo, completing your quest quickly should be no problem. Which is a good thing—the sooner you finish, the sooner the simian weeping turns to joyful leaping.

Kodachrome A simple errand takes a turn for the surreal when our hero, forced away from the video game console and out of the house, stumbles down a hole into the middle of the earth where he is, of course, tasked with tracking down magical gems. The same thing happened to me the other day. A little bit retro, mixed with a healthy dose of metroidvania and high-difficulty platforming, and Kodachrome is a weird but appealing little challenge.

Hacker's Escape Pine Games' traps you in a very Hollywood hacker's lair in this stylish escape game, also free for iOS and Android! With codes and equipment strewn throughout the room, will you ever get out before they instagram our firewalls and hack our internets?

Billy Makin Kid Billy is the last man left on the earth after super-evolved apes have taken over, and to defend himself against the hordes of flying monkeys and angry gorillas, he has to spawn children and turn them into defense units, apparently without the aid of a single female. Makes no sense? It doesn't matter, because the game features some great twists on the tower defense genre.

Monkey GO Happy Western Howdy, pardner! Our monkeys are a mite unhappy yet again, and only one thing will cheer them up in this short, silly point-and-click puzzle game! PencilKids delivers another wonderfully executed coffee break of a game, despite some content issues that may rub some the wrong way.

P.I. Chronicles: Skull Island One of the delights of Skull Island is that it is hiding what amounts to a whole second game within its confines. Take your time and really explore and a wide range of exciting new vistas will open up, taking the story in wild directions that have absolutely nothing to do with your original rescue mission and turning the whole game into a very surreal experience. Take the chance, explore the jungle (and points beyond), and immerse yourself in one of the more complex and satisfying escape games we've seen this year.

Sort the Court! Running a kingdom isn't as complicated as you think in this super cute and super simple sim made in just three days... all you have to do as the king is say yes or no to the decisions presented by your subjects. With 37 different characters and over 150 decisions, can you raise your population to greatness?

Get Off My Lawn The neighborhood kids are on your lawn again, and it's time to take action. And that action is murder. In Get Off My Lawn, you finally decide to put an end to all the shenanigans, armed with the oversized blades on your trusty, indestructible, probably non-regulation, rotary lawn mower.

Chess Wroom The ability to make theme and mood fit together into an elegant, peaceful escape-the-room game is perfectly illustrated by TomaTea here. Follow the glowing cursor to find clues and puzzle tiles and chess pieces. Then, use logical deductions and mathematical calculations to complete numerous doors and drawers until you find the exit key.

Dirty Room Escape 3 Clean up, and that's an order! In this cute (but messy) escape game from Detarame Factory, you're not going anywhere until this room stops looking like a war zone! Put things away, throw other things out, and, of course, solve puzzles until everything is spotless!

Cover Orange: Journey Knights Cover Orange Journey Knights by Johnny-K is a new installment of the Cover Orange series of physics puzzles that's a return to form for the series. With new puzzle mechanics and interesting integration of hidden-object elements, both fans of and those new to the series will find it quite a-peeling.

Scorching Earth Scorching Earth is an intriguing turn-based puzzle game in which you control the actions of an inferno as it seeks to devastate 50 levels worth of landscape. The levels are composed of square tiles, filled with various types of terrain—grasslands, water, trees, and so forth. Your goal on each puzzle is to destroy the required number of tiles. It's a good, solid, innovative puzzle game, and it's fun.

Spring Celebration It doesn't matter if it's Easter... if TomaTea wants you to escape from a pretty pastel room with eggs, bunnies, and more, you darn well do it! A sweet and satisfying game with a lot of puzzles, despite a few rough edges on some it.

Epos Looking for a fight? Then try on the highly polished, turn-based combat oriented RPG from MINTgames. Former soldier Tradda just wants to live a peaceful life, but his King has one last mission from him and will not be denied. Journey across a massive map battling dozens of monsters and fiends in your quest to bring down a traitor.

Band of Heroes Vertical shooter meets RPG? It's not as far-fetched as you'd think! Framed for a crime he didn't commit (not that he wasn't planning to) Josh the thief finds himself swept up in a battle for a magical gem and forced to gather a group of unlikely allies in this unique hybrid from IriySoft.

Necronator 2 In this sequel to the original strategic tower defense hybrid, the titular dark lord you controlled in the original is back! It's your job to show him what happens to dark lords (hint: it's not tea and cookies.) Your goal is to claim the enemy's castle at the opposite side of each stage from your own, getting cash and building units, while casting spells of your own to help out directly.

Escape from Santa's Room Escape from Santa's Room is not Tesshi-e's best, perhaps, but it hits all the right notes for room escaping fun, and may help a little with the post-Christmas blues that tend to settle in around 7 pm or so, depending on when dinner was served. Cheer up, and join the escape!

10 Gnomes episode 4: Foggy Flat It was a foggy day when Mateusz Skutnik took the pictures for 10 Gnomes #4, and the setting is one of the longest buildings in Europe. Get your hidden object fix with the latest installment of this episodic game in which you must find all 10 gnomes in 10 minutes' time.

Nunchuck Charlie Don't ever let anything come between you and the ones you love. Not even an eight foot pigeon. Mash your way through colourful and quirky stages in this action-packed game that's bizarre, but a whole lot of fun.

The ABC Game Despite being short, uncomplicated and an absolute breeze for anyone already familiar with the world of letters, Orgdot's beautiful illustrations and animation make The ABC Game a must-see.

Protector IV.V The Roman Numeral part of my brain tells me that the title doesn't quite scan, but the tower defending part feels nothing but glee: Protector IV.V, an expansion pack for Undefined's popular fantasy strategy series has just hit the internet! It's nowhere near a sequel, but it has a host of new quests and all the exploration and variety the series has displayed thusfar. It's a treat for all strategy-lovers looking for an complicated addictive challenge.

Text Twist The computer game is not the strongest medium for word games. The crossword puzzle and word jumble dominate the papers; Boggle is the board game master. Computer games are often overlooked by the linguistically minded. But then, Text Twist changes all that. I'm tempted to call it the best word game I've ever played.

Monsterland 4: One More Junior Those kids. There's just never enough attention, positive, negative or whatnot, to please them. Quality time is perhaps overrated, at least as far as monster dad is concerned. He only wants to sleep. Which just means more fun for Junior and Jenny as they find ways to wake him from his nap in yet another installment of Alma Games' nap-busting physics puzzle. 36 more levels, including bonus levels plus plenty of achievements, are just the right level of chill and thinky to keep you alert and engaged throughout.

Liquid Colors Liquid Colors is a brilliant idea for a puzzle game and one that works exceptionally well in Flash. It is another creative and original puzzle game entry to our recent game design competition. It was created by DDams of France.

TETRISweeper It's tough to decide between two classics, so FonGeBooN has offered a unique solution: play both at the same time! That's what TETRISweeper is in a nutshell: a unique fusion of the tetromino-sorting gameplay of Tetris and the mine-avoiding tension of Minesweeper. TETRISweeper is an intense game to say the least, but surprisingly fun to fans of both its parent games.

The Alchemist's Apprentice In this entertaining puzzle game You are the alchemist's apprentice left in charge of the alchemy shop while the master is away (probably away on business, but we don't really know for sure; details are sketchy, you see, and therefore we shouldn't jump to any conclusions.) In any event, she left some instructions behind: you must conjure three (3) items before the master returns.

Kreta According to the myth, Theseus goes into the labyrinth to slay the minotaur. Inside, he uses a piece of yarn that was given to him by his love, Ariadne, to mark his trail so he is able to find his way back out in the dark. COATS It's the end of the world... unless you can find a cure, that is. You and a handful of other scientists and survivors are holed up in an underground bunker trying to find a way to develop a cure for the disease turning humanity into mindless monsters. But in this meaty free indie horror game, as the days pass, you'll need to work to keep your facility running smooth, and make hard choices.

It Moves Everyone is always bothered by the unexplained bump in the night. But what if the noise is more simple, like someone rustling in the supposedly empty bunk below you. Each night you are haunted by nightmares, but they are nothing compared to what happens when you are awake.

Pod Panic Pod Panic is a gorgeous little arcade Flash shooter that is simple to play and terribly addictive. Each level presents you with an increasing number of pods, round bumper-like objects that tend to gravitate towards your ship, and a string-creature that is rather hypnotizing to watch. Great old-school arcade fun in a tight little package.

Tug the Table You know what your average tug-of-war game needs? A table instead of a rope. At least that's what Otto Ojola thinks, and he's turned the idea into Tug the Table, a simple yet wonderful fighting game that manages to be reminiscent of Wrestle Jump while still being unique.

Diversity Diversity is more of an escape-the-house game, rather than escape-the-room; in order to finally achieve freedom, the player must exit first a bedroom, then an office, then a nursery and finally a bathroom. This aside, Diversity is a well-executed, if fairly standard, point-and-click game, no doubt inspired by the classic Crimson Room.

But every little boy knows when it is time to explore, and so he will. For better or worse... Blackwood prologue is a platforming piece of interactive art by Blake Mann, that takes you inside the mind of a kid who just might find his future in his dreams. Marvelously atmospheric, even evocative, the dream logic nature of the game means, inevitably, more questions will be raised than answered. But as the title says, it's just the prologue...

My Little Army My Little Army is clever strategy fun that wears its real-time nature on its sleeve, made from cutesy graphics and carried forward by purely-for-decoration storylines. You might even be fooled by thinking that this makes the game easy. See if you feel that way when a giant Jason is stomping your Khan Kong's face.

Ghost Hacker 2 There's a ghost in the system, and you're it! But you're not the spooky, chain-rattling kind. You're the rad, hacking, fight-for-justice kind! Zakari Fresh out of their game-making oven, Detarou brings you another surreal escape game in Zakari. Slathered with code-deciphering puzzles and heavily sprinkled with bizarre characters, it's everything that makes their games so yummy. Give it a taste to discover the three endings hiding within. Panda will thank you.

Koi2 In Koi2, from the creators of Kissma, you play a man with blow-dried hair and a terrible sweater, sitting across from a woman who can best be described as "tolerant". The object of the game, as you both slide up and down on hydraulic lifts, is to poke her in the forehead with your finger as many times as you can in one minute. Yes, this is a game about forehead poking.

Once Upon a Life Though it starts off slow, this platforming puzzle is full of surprises and unexpectedly touching to boot, as you play a jetpack-toting old man gathering up photographic memories of his past and going on one last grand adventure.

Plexus: Come Solve the Show In the first of Plexus' circus-themed puzzles, the show is coming to town—as soon as you can find and fit together the multitudes of uniquely-shaped jigsaw pieces to complete the picture. As always, the wonderfully imaginative puzzle designs are a joy to toil over, even if this is just a wee bit easier (taking about 15 minutes for most) than some of the other puzzles in Plexus' repertoire.

Simple Motions In this mellow, relaxing physics puzzle game, the goal is simply to get stars (it is always stars) and get to the flag in each level. Chart a course for the intrepid red ball by placing down tokens that change its movement (or even its size and density) in order to navigate your way through the course. With a friendly difficulty curve and the ability to skip levels, it's a laid-back little game that's perfect for a break in your crazy day.

I've been having a lot of fun lately playing this old-school style, top-down shmup (shoot-em-up) called Hurricane developed by Nuvorm in the Netherlands. Along the lines of the arcade classic Galaga, this one has power-ups to increase shields and weapons with lots of cool pyro-technic particle effects. There is also a downloadable PC version of the game available.

City Siege Sniper: Welcome to Snafu Island Kill the Baddies sniper style in another entry to the City Siege series. The civilians on the island need saving! You get to take the enemy out from afar using weapons ranging from a sniper rifle to a rocket launcer. Keep the civilians safe to earn stars to unlock more areas on your map. Earn cash to upgrade your weapons to cause even more destruction.

Neon Race 2 A fun, pretty and heart-racing forward-scrolling racing game from longanimals, Neon Race 2 is the kind of game you'd be happy to drop five dollars in quarters on at the old arcade. Expect pavement, police cars, turbo-boosts, ramps and random explosions aplenty.

Progression Descend into a dungeon with your brother Erasmus in this strange Twine text adventure, again and again and again and again. Failure is often the only way forward, so explore and experiment if you expect to uncover any of the game's endings, much less the real one.

10 Gnomes in Liege 10 Gnomes in Liege is pretty short, but that doesn't mean that you'll only spend ten minutes playing. Try it and you might get hooked, going back over and over again to admire the stunning black and white photography of the city whilst you try to ferret out every last gnome before time runs out.

Q-Block Q-Block is an extremely nifty graphics editor that runs in your browser. It allows you to build 3D pixel art, just by sticking colorful cubes to each other one at a time. Rotate your artwork in 3D space by clicking and dragging anywhere on the screen. It's just as easy to remove blocks or repaint them a different color.

RSVP Billed as a "candle-lit rendezvous between Erno Rubik, Dorothy Parker, and Milton Bradley," RSVP puts you in charge of arranging guests around a table such that each is surrounded by compatible people on either side.

Seen on Screen Seen on Screen uses a computer monitor theme to present a variety of puzzles that you must solve by figuring out what to do for each. Sometimes the solution is straightforward, and others you will have to apply a little logic to derive the answer; and yet none of them are very difficult at all.

Earn to Die 2: Exodus Toffee Games is back for more with a new installment in their wildly popular zombie action series! Once again, you're trying to upgrade your vehicle and drive across the country to reach evacuation... sure is a shame about all these explosions, zombies, and destructible items in your way.

Shadow Drifter The shadows and your wits are the only things keeping you alive in this clever stealth-based physics puzzler. Navigate your way through a series of increasingly challenging (and deadly!) obstacle courses, avoiding lasers, turrets, and more, by figuring out how to use the environment, moving shadows, and even the light itself to your advantage. Originally a simple prototype back in 2010, Shadow Drifter shows how to expand on a much-loved concept and provide a polished, engaging finished project without losing anything from the original.

Cadence Compose an eternal melody by joining music nodes together in an arrangement with no beginning or end in this sleek abstract three-dimensional music puzzle. A pleasingly 80's futuristic look with refreshingly comfortable New Age feel, and fundamental precepts which have been very effectively crafted into a game that isn't just soothing and enjoyable, but absolutely engaging.

Wild Heroes Calling all heroes! It's up to you to defend the castles of the kingdom in Wild Heroes. In this tower defense game you must place your heroes wisely to keep the enemy at bay. Upgrade them to wild status to really do some damage. Show the monsters what a hero is really capable of!

TCB Museum From the creator of Treasure Box—an engaging and clever interactive Flash puzzle that showcases the author's artistic talents—comes another such piece with a clearer objective than its predecessor. It is an imaginative work of art filled with sights and sounds that include various puzzles to solve. The objective is to find all 5 stars and then place them onto the wheel of fortune.

Dona Room Dona Room is a game that has been around for just a few weeks, and yet I have received many suggestions to include it here. It is another of the 'escape-the-room' variety of point-and-click Flash adventures, and it is very good. As with other games like it, look around the...

Keys Keys very nearly placed among the winners in our game design competition, and if we had but one additional prize, it would have. This mysterious and charming little puzzle game fit the theme perfectly by closely resembling a puzzle you might find in Click Drag Type. In fact, there weren't many other games that came this close to exactly what we were looking for.

One-Off R Enjoy a remixed version of GotMail's recent One-Off game, and this one (like their previous efforts) is sure to please point-and-click fans everywhere. As in true escape-the-room style, the objective is to get the motorcycle out of the locked garage by looking for clues and combining items you find to solve puzzles.

Replicator Brent Silby has created one of the coolest arcade games I have played in a very long time. Think retro-cool as in Galaga, Defender, Centipede and Robotron, and you'll be close to what the action is like in surely one of his best games to date. Replicator captures the essence of arcade action fun and delivers it lovingly in a browser window.

Diamond Penthouse Escape 2 TeraLumina has created a short, but fantastic escape game with one of the best fake-out endings we've seen. You won't see puzzles with the complexity of, say, Neutral, but what is there is fun and involving and perfect for a quick escape. It's time to go treasure hunting!

Epic Battle Fantasy 4 The gang is back... plus one! Our heroes from the last game have been helping themselves to everything not nailed down and on fire, but are they to blame for the theft of a village's prized jewel? In this quirky, cheeky turn-based RPG, bow-wielding Anna joins the team to conquer more enemies in challenging, strategic battles and face down even more weirdness than ever before.

Shapik: The Quest Point-and-click your way to rescue your sister in this charming adventure game. You and your bee team together to get your sister back from the bad guys who whisked her away. Experiment on each level until you discover the secrets to continue on to the next. Short and sweet, Shapik: The Quest is a wonderful way to spend a little time.
