Challenge Accepted We get you. You're too cool for regular platformers, right? They're so boring. So easy. Then why don't you bring your swagger on over to this tricky puzzle platformer and help one cool cat reach his goal. Can you make it to the exit? How about while only moving left? Without jumping? Within a time limit? You'll need quick reflexes, a cool head, and a dose of patience to proceed.

Monster Corp Werewolves, dragons, and mermaids, oh my! LittleGiantWorld puts you in control of every monster ever, but the goal is less world domination and more sweet moolah. Gather new creature DNA to create and manage a zoo/expo hall/what could possibly go wrong facility for the customers to visit and bring in more money. Despite some repetition, it's a cartoony, appealing little time management simulation worth a look.

Three Cats in Halloween It's Halloween, and everyone's out trick-or-treating, including Japanese developer Choko-Chai's trademark three cats. When they visit the wrong house and end up locked inside, though, it's time once again for them to escape. Choko-Chai's games have a charm all their own; the puzzles are neither too challenging nor too easy, there's a changing cursor right where it counts, the cats' animated antics are hard to tire of, and the one time there's a puzzle that requires knowledge of something Japanese, the creator provides a Wikipedia link.

Alice House No.2: The Pool of Tears Things are getting curiouser and curiouser as we continue our way through FunkyLand's version of the Alice in Wonderland story. This time around it's five dodoes you must find before you can escape-the-room. The room being a stately hallway with lots of doors but no apparent way out. Very strange. Alice may have cried a pool of tears to be stuck in such a pickle, but if you're resourceful, you'll soon find your way through.

Amil Sure, he may look like a footlocker and have unsettling pink bags under his eyes, but if your dog or cat or other pet should ever fall down a mine shaft leading to a subterranean geothermic engineering project of dubious provenance, Amil is your go-to fellow. Created by Robert Stone, Amil is a gravity-switching platformer with retro stylings and just a scintilla of RPG flavor.

What's down there? Cake and ice cream? Play Plumet 2, a simple but addictive action game from Person333 to find out.

Lift For Life Lift for Life is an escape game by SuzumeDr, whom you may remember for Triangle a while back. The game takes place in a room with a somewhat athletic theme, as well as an adjustable glass table that's a little too low, a nice TV hooked to a game console, two strange pedestals that seem to react to one another, and a few other fixings. Naturally, you've got some puzzle-solving and some inventory management to do. It's a splendid escaper that's definitely worth a try to break up your weekday blues, so go out there and get your Lift on! For Life!

Inush Escape 3 Short but oh so sweet, this little escape game by Inush has you working together with a pup simultaneously to solve puzzles in order to get outside! It's cute enough to give you cavities, AND it's got two endings!

Christmas Eve (Escape) Enjoy the anticipation of Christmas Eve year-round with this amusing room escape packed with an astonishing number of puzzles for such a small room. The basic premise of the game is simple: it is Christmas Eve, your boyfriend is on his way over, the tree is not decorated, and you can't remember where you stored the ornaments. Can you decorate before your date arrives? Better hope so!

Escape from the Cake Shop After all the predicaments Choko-Chai's three cats have found themselves in, and escaped their way out of, it's their turn to play purrfect heroes when the baker's apprentice is locked inside but can't find the door code. You can help by solving puzzles, unlocking multiple doors and cupboards, until you've found all the ingredients necessary for a cake shop escape!

Schizo-Phrenzy Schizo-Phrenzy is a surreal platform adventure with an art deco look and a discourteous attitude towards gravity. Guide the mentally unwell private investigator John K. Facey on his quest to confront the titanic Mayor and discover the true extent of his own madness. Schizo-Phrenzy will fill your shoes with spider eggs during the night, and if they hatch, you are in real danger of having your privacy invaded.

Llama in Your Face Being a llama does have its good points: you have a trampoline to bounce up and down on all day, your fur is soft and durable, and you can spit like it's nobody's business. Because it's not. You hate those intrusive zoo visitors who keep trying to get up into your face. So spit on them! Use your mouse to aim and then click to spit in this engrossing and fun shooter by Peter Sperl and Simon Parzer. Strategic use of upgrades is required as the later levels become quite difficult but the charm of the wooly jumper is also hard to resist. It begs the question, Which is worse: having a llama face or having llama in your face?

dRive dRive is quite possibly the first calculus-themed game to get a review on this site, but don't go fleeing for the high country quite yet; you don't need to understand the math to play the game. At its core, dRive is a simple "catch the falling objects" game, but the unusual, calculus-based method of controlling three games at once turns dRive into an innovative, fascinating game.

Find the Escape-Men Part 139: Convenience Store no1game's latest escape game has a very simple setup... you're in a convenience store, and you can't get out, so track down the ten familiar little green men to help show you the way! Short and very silly, this one is on the light and easy side, suitable for a pit stop of your own.

Sword & Spoon So you can run a war, and you can run a kitchen, but this strategy/resource management title wants to know if you can do BOTH at the same time! You have a finite space in your castle with which to build units to defend it, but you also need to build potato farms to feed the men. Protect your castle... and try to keep everyone fed.

Entropic Space In Entropic Space, no one can hear you smash planets together. It's true, sound does not travel in space, but what does travel are "fun-waves", those mysterious quanta of play that science is just beginning to understand. A submission to our 4th Casual Gameplay competition from Studio Cypher, Entropic Space has you pilot an mega-scale space pod that can bump planets into each other, engineering parsec after parsec into entropy.

Last Robot 2 Launch a bouncy robot into space in Last Robot 2, an action platform game by Karma Team. Dodge bombs, leap from clouds, and continue ever upward to stay alive. Along the way, you can collect coins and purchase up to 24 upgrades to make your robot better - faster - stronger! zOMT If you were looking for a game that gives you a taste of true omnipotence, zOMT leaves something to be desired. But as a defense game, it's a great deal of fun. Being told that your godly might was at the level of "holy toast" was certainly a spur to keep playing. Conquer all fifteen levels and your power will be unquestioned! At least from here to that torch-thing.

Alphabox A game that combines wordplay with Sokoban-style block pushing? Are they mad?!? Arrange blocks with letters to form words by sliding them into place. Luckily, Alphabox recognizes solutions apart from the one intended, so sometimes you can get creative and mix the letters around, saving a few moves. A level editor extends the replay value of this innovative puzzler.

One walking turret stands alone in this fast-paced, Unity-based arena shooter where waves of incoming robots that increasingly get bigger, meaner, and more numerous will keep you blasting away on your metallic toes!

Cathode Raybots Fight the Cathode Raybots, or join their cause in this over-the-top action shooter by Tom Fulp and the Newgrounds crew. Overwhelming surface flashiness hides an excellent boss-battle creation engine, that those in the community have used to great cleverness.

Penguin sports In January, 2004, Chris Hilgert created a Flash game which spread across the Internet like wildfire. The gameplay mechanics were simple and surprisingly fun: Bat a penguin with a Yeti to see how far you could throw him. Since then, Chris has created a trio of games featuring penguins, a yeti and other arctic mammals, and a fourth one is on the way.

Shapist Think Rush Hour mingled with Tetri but with shapes that do more than just slide, and you'll have the basic idea of what Shapist is like. More than just a sliding block puzzle game, drag, rotate, or shrink the blocks in order to uncover the grey block to continue. Don't worry about timers or scores, it's just you and the blocks.

Dots: Revamped Make your score climb by gobbling down green dots while avoiding the green that spawn for each one you eat, but with different characters to unlock and faster, angrier enemies, this little arcade game is simple but addictive!

Mr. MothBall 2: Cotton Carnage Mr. MothBall 2: Cotton Carnage is a charming shooter from Polish artist Mateusz Skutnuk, author of both the Covert Front and Submachine point-and-click series of games. You control a white mothball trying to shoot down evil red mothballs in an adorable penciled world with pastel shading. The game is a spiritual sequel to Mr. MothBall platformer entered in our 4th game design competition.

Six Feet Under Six Feet Under is a Flash game with instructions in German, so here is my take on the action: On the way to the cemetery, Alex, the hearse-driving coffin chauffeur, has to step on the gas to make it to the burial on time. Help Alex deliver the coffin by speeding to the cemetary and launching the coffin into the graveyard.

I Remain It's the end of the world as we know it, and I feel fine... wait, no I don't! As one of the last survivors of a zombie apocalypse, you've managed to hole up inside an abandoned house. But without any supplies, your safe haven is more of a prison. You'll need to find a means of escaping, and it'll take all your point-and-click, combining skills in this horror adventure to do it.

Dopaminium: The Heal Journey The human mind is a very complex thing. A very complex, bizarre, fragile thing which sometimes malfunctions and starts creating all manner of horrors. What horrors, you ask? Step right into Dopaminium: The Heal Journey and see for yourself. In this surreal point-and-click experience, you'll go through different departments of the mind, try to mend an ailing psyche and get utterly creeped out.

Occasional Sunny Break Not terribly complex, but a fun five to ten minute room escape game with logical and surprisingly original puzzles. As the title implies, a perfect break in the clouds of humdrum and a few minutes in the sun, a perfect theme for our Weekday Escape!

Quietus After dancing the hemp fandango you are greeted by the Grim Reaper and offered an interesting proposition: run the gauntlet of Hell and be resurrected with a happier life. Run, jump, and dodge a host of deadly enemies and traps for a second chance in this challenging platformer.

Quest in the Dark Quest in the Dark is an exceptionally cute and surprisingly engaging point-and-click adventure. Navigate through the haunted mansion, collecting items and solving puzzles as you go. Beware the various ghosts and skeletons that stand in your path (or don't. They aren't that bad, as it turns out), and above all else, don't forget to find the magic potion that will set you free!

Chikarou 5 A bite-sized escape puzzler from Dghgbakufu that drops you in the middle of a cross-shaped five-room dungeon and dares you to solve its puzzles and escape to the surface. Bakufu shies away from the complicated clichés like using screwdrivers to pry open panels and finding power cords to plug in computers. All the keys and doors are symbol-coded, and there's no pixel-hunting, either; what little challenge this developer's games contain lies in deciphering the simple yet clever little clues to open the safes, which is fine for someone wanting a quick and easy escape but not so much for a challenge-seeker.

Moonlights Moonlights gives you World of Goo-like building tools, a simple star-speckled background, and soothing music. Then it asks you to build a tower to the moon. With several different kinds of building surfaces, an accessible level editor, and a meditative tone, this is one of the most laid-back construction games around.

[Together] Ah, another perfect day. Sitting on a cliff. Letting the breeze blow through your bright pink hair. Then you hear the distant rumble of some kind of black hellspawn chasing your boyfriend. Well, just put out your hand and fly away with him in [Together], One Mr. Beans's entry in our 8th Casual Gameplay Design Competition that took third place overall. It's an experimental game of exploration and heart gathering with a loose narrative threading it all [together].

Escape from the Room with 10 Safes Hottategoya presents a math lover's dream escape: a room full of ten safes, nine of which remain locked until you arrange the proper algebraic equation to get them open. One by one, you'll gain the buttons needed to solve each numbers puzzle until, likely in a matter of mere minutes, you've earned the key to the exit door. Whatever your attitude toward algebra, you should feel happily liberated once you succeed.

The Way the Gingerbread Cookie Crumbles George is throwing a Christmas party, but nobody is going to be satisfied until there are gingerbread cookies. Too bad his oven is broken and there's a blizzard out! Search the house to try to come up with a solution in this short and silly point-and-click puzzle game from Carmel Games.

City Wizard You know the old saying. It takes a bunch of flowers to raise a village. Or... something like that. In this simple yet clever match-3 based hex puzzler, place and combine different tile types to turn them into new ones and keep the board clear for as long as possible. Watch out for zombies!

Miracle Witch Miracle Witch is the bright, fast, colorful, hard-as-nails story of cute little witch Polfe and her quest to defeat the evil king Yeah Walusa, which is the best name for an evil king ever. Find secret treasures, slay monstrous bosses, solve obscure puzzles. Like a mouse-controlled Legend of Zelda,

Symphonic Tower Defense Tower Defense games have cast you in many different roles as protector. Symphonic Tower Defense, the new music game by FrozenFire and Jon Sadness, however, is the first time that a band conductor has been tasked with guarding against nigh-unstoppable attack. I suppose it's justified though, as this time it's music itself that's out of control. And should it escape, terrible unspecified things will happen to us all. Get ready to take some notes and make your enemies treble with bass fear, as you orchestrate the sharpest defense possible! While a few hopefully-soon-to-be-fixed programming glitches make it a little discordant, overall Symphonic Tower Defense has a nice beat that's easy to dance to.

How to Escape? What do an aquarium, a potted plant, a missing door, and questionable artwork have in common? They're all in this short and sweet escape game by Vitamin Hana that will give you a handful of simple, but well designed puzzles to brighten your day.

Space Arcade: The Game I appreciate the specificity of Space Arcade: The Game's subtitle. I was seriously worried for a couple minutes that I was going to have to deal with Space Arcade: The Hit Broadway Musical. However, as much as I crave toe-tappin' hits and elaborate choreography, I enjoy Galaga-inspired pixel shooter action even more. This appears to be music-meister Matt McFarland's debut game release, and it's so much fun that maybe he should consider quitting his day job.

Immortal Souls: Dark Crusade Immortal Souls: Dark Crusade is a browser version of the downloadable strategy-RPG by Comic Book RPG. You play John Turner, a reluctant vampire armed with guns, claws, a baseball bat, and a sense of vengeance. But it's not as easy as it seems, and whether you are human or vampire becomes a complex issue as you move from floor to floor in the Golden Krone Hotel.

Bowmaster Winter Storm It's been five long years. You're ready to play the newest action release by LostVectors. It's Bowmaster Winter Storm! For fans of the previous BowMaster Prelude, you'll see a lot of familiar aspects of the game was carried over. Nobuyuki Forces 4 Nobuyuki Forces 4 is a remake of 2003's Nobuyuki Forces 3, and feels similar to arcade rail shooters like Time Crisis and House of the Dead. Super Treadmill Super Treadmill is yet another prime example of interesting Nitrome fare. It takes a not-so-simple run-and-jump game and gives it an added twist: it's an allegedly old game emulated on modern technology, bad connection and all. If you're willing to see the game through to the end, then go ahead and hop on the Super Treadmill!

Sunken Room Escape From the imagination of MyGames888, enter a dreamlike aquatic abode full of enigmas. If you want to escape—and avoid a permanent case of prune skin—you'll need to find the answer to many questions such what does that turtle have on its back and why is that fish behind bars? Put together clues and creative tools to solve puzzles and find your way out to one of the funnest "Congratulations!" screens in the genre.

Super Big Gun Adventure You are a pariah of the Gentlemen's Council, who became jealous of the length of your gun, which doubles as a sort of jetpack, immediately after giving you said weapon. Make your way through their headquarters, past lava, spikes, and enemies with much smaller guns in this physics based platform shooter game.

Hitonchi A ninja protecting himself with bubble wrap? Check. A strange line of leaping dancers? Yep. Some dude with a green face peering at you through a hole in the wall? Okay. Small blue men doing...something to a vase? Yeah, Detarou's back with another surreal room escape.

KernType It's always intriguing when a game developer takes a technical, even mundane, activity and makes it into a competition. KernType, a unique puzzle game developed by Mark MacKay for edutainment site Method of Action, charges you with dragging the middle letters of a given word for a given font to make it aesthetically perfect. Your result will be compared against a professional typographer's, and you will be given a score based on how close you get to their solution. It's not a concept that survives multiple play-throughs, but it's quirky fun.

The LaCoGeSSta Research It's time to eat or be eaten. Or at least, that's the simulation we need you to run in this cute and clever logic puzzle. Ensure that only one critter remains at the end of each level by mastering their unique movement patterns.

Fluffy Steel In this sliding block-style puzzler by Mibix, a flying squirrel faces off against the natural predator of all rodentia: zombies. The cartoony graphics don't quite mesh with the strategic gameplay, but the levels are well designed and the scream the squirrel makes as he flies off the screen is schadenfreudely hilarious.

Tiny Wizard In Tiny Wizard, an inventive new arcade shooter by Hannes Rahm, your lovely castle has been invaded by all manner of ghosts and ghouls and if you want to see peace again, you'll need to conjure up all your best magical powers (and your snazziest wizard hats) to beat them back.

Daymare Invaders Daymare Invaders, an arcade shooter, isn't a particularly complicated game. Essentially, it's Space Invaders with a Daymare skin. But you know what? The hand-drawn art of the Daymare world is as hauntingly beautiful as it was when we first saw it. If you go in expecting anything more than a clone, you'll be disappointed. If, however, you approach it knowing what it is (a classic minigame and a tantalizing preview of installments to come), you'll find a very tasty piece of eye candy.

Hordes of Hordes Undefined's chibi-cute new tower defense title Hordes of Hordes features an interesting variety of traps, spells and towers in a build-your-own-path style game. Just make sure you think very carefully about your plan before you place things, and you'll find this a pleasant game play experience.

Space Paranoids Even though it inherited the title from the original Tron, Space Paranoids is very aptly named. Because your advantage lies in speed, not firepower, the game encourages a lot of running away and waiting for enemies to come to you. Space Paranoids is not just a good advergame or a nice taste of nostalgia; It's also a fine game in its own right, and a great example of what the Unity engine can do when done well.

Bear in Super Action Adventure Shoot your way through the odd assortment of invaders in this exciting action game. Blast your way through enemies and collect coins to upgrade so you can blast through some more. Can the bear defend the Earth? It's up to you!

Inner Demon: Soul Trader Possessing humans and stealing souls is all in a day's work for one demon. Too bad there's a human wizard trying to stop him from doing it! Now he'll need to gather enough souls to have the strength to challenge the wizard in battle! As a demon, you'll be zipping along the ground and finding the best path to get to the humans. But once you enter a human body, you'll be pushing blocks, potions, and buttons and collecting gems on your way to the exit!

Demonic Flower A tower defense game without the tower. Plant your units on the field of battle, upgrade them, and watch them do battle with wave after wave of tiny, adorable monsters, all to get a series of trinkets for some princesses who have rather unique desires.

Snake Squad I don't know, but I've been told! But Snake Squad, an action-packed arena shooter by Yzi Games, has just gone gold! There's not much of a story or depth to the gameplay, but it does have a bunch of viciously adorable looking soldiers snaking their way around blasting enemies and collecting cash, and it makes for a fast-paced good time.

Putt More Base Like your mini-golfing streamlined and mellow? This slick physics puzzle by Jayc Santos might be the offer. Ballooner This physics puzzle may be low on challenge but it's big on adorability. (Yes, that is now a word.) Rocanten has imprisoned helpless yet placid balloons and it's up to you to set them free (or destroy them) by manipulating the environment. The colourful presentation and easy gameplay makes this more one for the kids or a coffee break, but it's a perfectly casual little game anyone can enjoy without straining the old gray matter.

Raiders Took My Dog Life is hard in a post-apocalyptic wasteland, but as long as your rustbucket of a dog is by your side you know you'll make it through anything. In Raiders Took My Dog, life is good until the unthinkable happens or well really it's pretty thinkable as it's the title of the game. Fight back and save your dog in this action packed shooter.
