The Bucket Nitrome wants to know how far you'd go to save a raccoon in this silly, tricky little physics avoidance game about a fish with a plant growing out of its head, and a bucket full of raccoons. Microbe Kombat Play as a weakly little microorganism in a big world (a Petri dish?) filled with other microbes and bacteria, and it's survival of the fittest in there. This is Darwinian fighting style at its most primeval. Binding to proteins, self-replication through division and eating other microbes... these are your signature moves.

Gravity Hook HD The mystery of the ages has been solved! Today we can get a robot to move up a vertical plane using his grappling hook to attach to floating spheres! And it is terribly addictive too... How high can you go? The original game was fun, but hellish in its expectations and difficulty. Gravity Hook HD is MUCH easier to play. It is also prettier, has a better soundtrack and no doubt hides other gameplay enhancements.

Spin-n-Match Spin-n-Match, by Jess Hansen, is a simple puzzle game that will torque your brain to its limits. On the left, you see a grid of jumbled up balls. On the right, you see your target formation. Your task is simple: Make the left look like the right by rotating 2x2 clusters, similar to Bejeweled Twist. You can try to simply beat all 40 levels, or you can go for the developer's target scores. Either way, Spin-n-Match is a nifty little puzzler that'll keep your head spinning. (Fifty bucks says you saw that coming.)

Electro Combo Ready... set... KABOOM! KragSoft delivers a lovely and engaging little chain-reaction arcade game that involves placing bombs to clear the screen. The catch? All those little icons you see drifting around explode in different ways, and figuring that out AND how best to use them is part of the strategy. A simple idea with a clean presentation that makes for an engaging little snack of a game rather than a main course.

Petals The simple things in life are often the best, and Green-Eyed Games has managed to turn a simple sliding-block puzzle into a game about flowers, just by arranging blocks the right way. Lofty Tower Have you always wanted to be an architect? Well, this colourful physics puzzle game about using Tetris-style blocks to reach your height requirements probably isn't the most realistic example of architectural design you'll find. FranknSplit Someone apparently didn't read up on their Mary Shelley novels. There's not just one green-skinned monster shambling around in the dungeon, there's two! In FranknSplit, you've got to mind two reckless monsters and make them jump just in time to avoid the (re-)death of one, and a shameful "what were you thinking" glare from the other. Seriously, when a monster glares at you like that, it stings. A lot.

Game One Escape Chacha delivers an escape game that makes you use your brain, as you're faced with such devilish conundrums as codes of all kinds, locked doors, comfy couches, and... horror or horrors... a coffee maker!

Desert Hike EX Bro, Burning Man is like so awesome! But you know what's not so awesome? Having to hoof it through the desert back home because someone stole your car and Bitcoins (yes, Bitcoins). Thus begins your Desert Hike EX, in the form of a hilarious text-based adventure full of geeky references and nerdy shenanigans.

Bomb Diver Dodge bombs, grab balloons and keep the city safe in this multifaceted arcade shooter. Any of this game's three phases wouldn't be all that great individually. Putting them together, though, makes for a fantastic mix. You're not stuck doing one thing for long enough that it becomes stale. Variety is the spice of life, and Bomb Diver just might be your paprika, so all you daredevils out there owe it to yourselves to give it a shot!

Dragon Age Legends: Remix 01 EA2D and Evan Miller of Pixelante Game Studios combine forces to create this fun, frantic side-scrolling hack-and-slasher set in the Dragon Age universe from Bioware and EA's popular RPG series. As one man against a seemingly unending tide of demons, beasts, madmen, and more, do you have a chance to make your way across hostile terrain to victory? Master four different combat styles, topple massive bosses, and indulge in a little wholesome face-stabbing in this straight-forward but very fun action title from both Industry and Indie talents.

New Who Am I? Robamimi rarely disappoints and the New Who Am I? is no exception. A little shorter than usual for Robamimi's work, but nonetheless lots of casual gameplay fun is here to be had. Perfect for a short break, most gamers will find themselves out in ten minutes or less. It's worth playing just for the final puzzle. After all, how many room escape games (spoiler alert!) require you to bribe your way out?

Mallet Mania Mallet Mania is Nitrome's newest production, a Marble Madness-type puzzle game. By using what appears to be a wireframe croquet mallet, you whack your ball with varying direction and power to guide it through maze-like levels to the goal. Stating the obvious but still worth noting, Nitrome once again stays with its tried-and-true pixel graphics and vibrant color scheme.

A short escape game that relies more on observations than puzzles, but provides a giggle or two along the way.

Gifted Trapped in a strange futuristic prison, you'll need to keep your wits about you to find the clues you need to solve the puzzles that keep you trapped. Despite a baffling story wrapped around it, Gotmail provides a solid and entertaining escape game that'll give you a mental workout.

Soom 2013 Although Soom 2013 isn't long at all, particularly compared to Place of Light's earlier works like Loom Dawn and Room Marine, it's good while it lasts. The room and its puzzles are very well designed, and although the lack of any sound can be a little disconcerting, it doesn't really get in the way. As someone born in the year of the snake myself (...er, not this year of the snake, the one 24 years ago), I consider myself qualified to recommend Soom 2013, and I do so eagerly.

Terrace View If you're looking for an escape game that's neither too long or short, nor too easy or hard, this sunny title by Vitamin Hana gets the job done, with some cryptic clues for sneaky coded locks you'll need to use your brain to unlock.

Pike Club Platinum It's a memory matching game with a twist! In ShadeMemory's clever spin on an old style of gameplay, you've been invited to join the Pike Club where you test your memory for cash and upgrades. Sporting a gorgeous and slightly creepy illustrated style, it may wind up somewhat repetitive but is proof that a little ingenuity can go a long way.
