BulletHell Adventure

Lori.h Any hero should know better than to hang out with his/her love in open spaces. It's just bait for any ill-tempered bad guy. Our kid hero tests fate by bringing his princess girlfriend out into the jungle for some lovey-dovey eye staring only to have her quickly nabbed by an alien in a spaceship. Thankfully though, he has plenty of dino friends to give him a lift and shoot the alien bugs out of his way in order to save his dearly beloved. But these bugs didn't go to the stormtrooper school of shooting and so he'll have to dodge all the madness they throw at him, in BulletHell Adventure. Frozennnn's action shooter is played with either the mouse or keyboard, whichever one you're more suited with as you'll need high skill to swoop in between all the bullets flying towards you, while at the same time shooting even more right back at them.

With all the gold for the upgrades, stars for the collecting, dozens of bugs and their shots filling the screen there is a lot going on in each level. Most of the time you won't even have a chance to aim as you're too busy trying to live. But since the shots are done automatically you don't really have to worry about that. You don't have to kill all the bugs on the screen either to pass the level. In fact, I'm not too sure what causes the level to end... whether it's time, or distance the levels just sort of stop. Except for the boss battles which only are over when the boss is killed, but other than that you and any bad guy left on screen just fade away when it's time to be done with it. It doesn't really affect the gameplay, but sometimes it would be nice to know how close you are to your goal. Especially when you replay a level for more gold to get those great, great upgrades. But there is a small balancing issue with those upgrades. If you get the right combination the game is pretty easy. If you don't... then it's really hard. Still, BulletHell Adventure is just a lighthearted romp with some cute graphics, fun music, and lots and lots of bullets flying every which way.

Hilariously, by the time I got to level 15, the biggest problem I had was killing the boss before I got all 5 stars. It would generally only last two stars...

I had the same issue. Maybe it would be better if a dying boss would release the rest of the stars at once?
