Blue Don't let the artwork and the colour palette bring you down! Yonashi serves up a short but very sweet escape game that shows you exactly why people love their cute and clever games to break up your day without taking a lot out of it.

To Nothing At first, To Nothing sounds like a misnomer for SuzumeDr's newest escape game. You start out in a somewhat sparsely furnished room with nothing in your hands except a black-and-white sports bag. You dump out the bag's contents and instantly all the slots in your inventory are full. The catch? As you go around and solve puzzles, every object in the room and in your inventory will... disappear, one by one. It's hard to be original in a well-established genre like the room escape, but SuzumeDr is definitely good at his trade.

The Happy Escape 6 Santa has kinapped you, again, because he has lost the happy coins, again, and needs you to find them (and his sack of presents) to save Christmas, AGAIN...Tesshi-e is back with another trippy holiday scenario with The Happy Escape 6.

Escape from the Dining Room Feeling peckish for a tasty room escape? Escape from the Dining Room is Tesshi-e at their best, so pull up a chair, unfold a napkin, and dig in! Gorgeous graphics, logical puzzles, what more can a person ask for?

Escape from Boss Room The latest room escape game from Tesshi-e, Escape from Boss Room is perhaps not that elusive "perfect" escape, but it comes darn close in terms of design, puzzles, and just plain fun. Challenging, beautiful and entertaining, this is the perfect way to waste some time, at work or at home. Put your escaping caps on, guys, it's time to Escape from Boss Room!

Dismantlement: Radio Created by gam.ebb.jp, Dismantlement is a puzzle game like you might find in an escape the room game. If you're looking for a fun five to ten minute break from the everyday and you are someone who likes to tear things apart to see how they work, then sit back, relax, and Dismantle the Radio.

Agent 079 While lesser evil geniuses would be content to tie their nemeses to an assembly line and take an early lunch, this guy knows how to persecute a superspy: Lure him into your funhouse of bizarre puzzles and gadgetry, compel them to collect items, crack codes, shunt entire rooms, and learn to smith keys; then, just as escape seems imminent,...Well, you'll have to play to find out.

Thief A flash design project by Phillip Reagan of Texas, USA, Thief weaves a cryptic atmosphere with captivating puzzles to pull you into a story you didn't even realize you were participating in. Thief is a well-deserving runner-up in our very first Casual Gameplay Design Competition.

Phantasy Quest A throw back to the graphic adventures of days gone by, Phantasy Quest is a welcome and refreshing alternative to the myriad room escape games that plague the Web these days. Using only the items you discover as you make your way around the island, solve the puzzles and the mystery of what lies before you. Can you find the girl and escape?

40x Escape A door, firmly locked. But have you got what it takes to escape? 40 times... 40xEscape is an entry into our 10th Casual Gameplay Design Competition, with the theme of "Escape", that placed 5th by our community of judges. It is what it is: a quality time-waster from a quality designer, and a CGDC #10 crowd-pleaser as all of Barts games tend to be.

Sneak Thief 5: Final Five The long-nosed thief gets out of high-flying situation and falls, rather glides, into the fifth and final installment of the Sneak Thief series. The man's adventures got him stuck inside a mechanical fish, packed in a horde of his clones, and dodging robot laser attacks on a hot air balloon! As the persistent pilferer finally arrives at Prof. Belamy's doorstep via his handy-dandy glider, he is probably looking forward to getting this job over with. With the final invention waiting inside the compound, you know Pastel Game's cunning and comically ingenious criminal will stop at nothing to finish the figh... I mean job.

Emerald Den Escape TeraLumina, who already showered us in rubies, sapphires and diamonds, indulges us once more with its best, and most challenging, escape game to date. All four walls of this lavishly decorated room are filled with clues, useful objects and all kinds of goodies to explore and delight every escaper's whim. You'll be hard-pressed to keep track of heaps of clues for the multiple puzzles, a number of which take on mini-game proportions. With its gorgeous graphics, thinky puzzles and cohesive gameplay, it's safe to say Emerald Den Escape shines amongst the best in the genre.

The Daydream The Daydream starts off with a familiar text message from your son to come play hide-and-seek in his room at the top of the building. "I want you to find me," he writes. But when you get there the room seems different, and he doesn't seem to be around. You turn to find the door has locked behind you(!) Is this a new twist to the game, or something else...?

Cube Escape: The Mill Things are getting weird. ... well, weird-ER in the popular escape series by Rusty Lake. You find yourself in an old mill full of strange machinery that isn't working, and a lot of secrets too. Though some puzzles aren't as intuitive as you may like, the plot takes unexpected directions, and things are just as creepy and startling as ever.

Dismantlement: Mouse It's Dismantling time yet again! Gam.ebb.jp is back with another dismantlement, and this time it's personal! Well, this time it's a mouse, at any rate. Fun, logical, and it appeals to that little part in all of us that revels in just breaking something down to its basic components. What are you waiting for, start dismantling!

Escape from the Quiet Room The setup's a tried-and-true one, and one many can sympathize with: the protagonist is worn out from days of work, and is invited by a friend to a quiet room. It's a masterpiece of escape, with soothing guitar music, photorealistic graphics, and puzzles that make sense if you think about them just right. Come, escape the chaos of your day for a little while thanks to Tesshi-e.

Dharma Doll Dharma Doll is a highlight of Petithima's rapidly growing oeuvre. More complex than the last one we featured on Weekday Escape, showing a progression of more puzzles and more difficult puzzles without losing the charm and design that make the games so great. Sort of an appetizer, where Choc-Mint was an amuse-bouche. Dig in!

Room 39 It might be billed as a five minute escape, but depending on how easily you find and decipher clues in TomaTea's latest lovely trap, that might not be so true! Regardless of how long it takes you, this one is every bit as clever and satisfying as you'd hope.

The Freewill Cycle: Volume II There has been a crucial time fault. But you can escape the cycle. The Freewill Cycle: Volume II is an entry into our 10th Casual Gameplay Design Competition, with the theme of "Escape", and our community of judges awarded it with the 3rd place prize. It is the kind of innovative game we at JiG hope for when running these competitions, and it well deserves its place near the top of the rankings.

Dismantlement: Burger Dismantlement: Burger is still a fun way to waste 5 minutes and hey, maybe it'll make you think twice about reaching for a calorie, sugar, fat laden lunch. How about something a bit healthier and less bomb-filled. Like a salad. Unless they've got that planned for later down the line. Remember, Junk food bad!

It is a rare game that manages to soothe and relax you even as it challenges your mind. Although not particularly difficult, nor is it very long, Charger Escape contains puzzles that are well-executed and creative.

Cube Escape: Seasons
Cube Escape: The Lake These two escape games from Rusty Lake are the start of a chilling new series. It begins in Seasons, as you travel through your memories inside a quiet house with its share of secrets, and continues to the deceptively serene fishing cabin of The Lake. These strikingly surreal games are also free for iOS and Android, and with more to come, an extremely promising start.

The Great Attic Escape The sixth installment of Mateusz Skutnik's Great Escape series. By now you should know what to expect; beatiful cartoony backgrounds, quirky music, and improbable contraptions you must build to make your unlikely escape. Oh, and bats. Sunflow Welcome to a room washed with sunlight and decorated with that symbol most associated with it, the sunflower. Whatever the time of year, or time of day, check out Sunflow and bask in the glow of a room escape done right, the Tomatea way.

The Dark Complex The Dark Complex builds on the brilliant puzzle work of the first game, The Dark Room, by creating an entire complex of rooms, each with its own unique puzzle inside. This is a game that will keep you busy and mesmerized for hours. Be sure to bring a paper and pencil with you, you'll need them to find your way out of this dark, complex game.

Lo.Nyan's Room Escape 16 Lo.Nyan goes swanky and high-rise with this escape game set in a cushy apartment with a skyline view. A reliance on colours may make some puzzles awkward to solve for players with certain difficulties, but Lo.Nyan still delivers a smart and clever experience.

OFUROooBa Detarou, Detarou, what can I make of you? There's no sense in trying to analyze the entirely inappropriate weirdness involved in a Detarou escape-the-room game. All that's needed to be known are the puzzles are cunning, the interface is well-designed, it has three endings and there are scenes that only Detarou could pull off to such surreal hilarity. Be forewarned: you may never be able to look at the color green again!

My Diamond Baby My Diamond Baby is a single-room point-and-click escape game. You start off as someone on a motorcycle on his way to give an engagement ring to his girlfriend. On his way he is involved in a motorcycle accident. When he regains consciousness he finds himself locked in a room without the engagement ring. This is by far the most challenging point-and-click game I have ever played. Imagine Crimson Room, Viridian Room, and the Blue Chamber all rolled up into one.

Forever Lost: Episode 3 By turns spooky and funny, moody and dark, Forever Lost: Episode three hits that sweet spot known to every fan of classic adventure gaming, a perfect balance of exploration and puzzle solving whilst telling a grand story, this is an adventure that is destined to become a classic in the field.

Samsara Room A clock. A telephone. A mirror. A chest of drawers. This room looks ordinary... but it's missing a door, which would seem to be important to the whole "escape" focus. But this stylish and surreal point-and-click game from Studio Maarten will surprise you with its clever concepts and unique approach, even if the ending is a bit of a let down.

Alice is Dead: Episode One The first in a creepy new point-and-click series set in a Wonderland a few degrees off from the one you may recall. A gruesome sight greets you when you open your eyes in this fractured fairytale... but just who are you, anyway? To find out, first you'll have to find your way out and dig a little deeper into the mystery. Provided you're prepared for what you may discover on the other side of the looking glass.

Crazy Doors of Rainbow Colors A rather unusual escape game that allows the player to temporarily detach from in-the-box thinking; in order to escape you must find and follow a new sort of logic, one that is strange yet intuitive. That quality, along with the game's simple and colorful appearance, made me feel like a little kid. When I finally finished I had a huge, silly grin on my face.

Ghostscape Ghostscape, a new escape game by Psionic, is just chock full of supernatural goodness. You play a veteran investigator of the occult who, upon hearing rumors of a haunted house, cannot stay away...and what a paranormal gold mine it turns out to be! Abacus A four-walled room escape game with simple, gradiented graphics and plenty of puzzles, most of which center around a particular theme. In this case, the theme is the blue enigma machine over on the cabinet there and the circular tumblers that it uses. Solve puzzles all around the room, get everything figured out, and eventually get that door open. The puzzles show a bit more variation than Otousan's games typically do, and the game as a whole is a bit longer and more substantial (it must be, there's a save feature this time!), which is good for those of you who found the developer's past games too easy.

Team Escaper: Escape Castle Escape Castle consistently defines fun. Although some puzzles may leave you feeling you've been there, done that, Escape Castle's final "puzzle" is a welcome twist on the genre, elevating it to a new level while harkening back to an age-old gaming tradition of the final boss battle.

Being One:
Episode 4 - Moonrise The fourth and final chapter in the Being One series. Taken separately, each chapter of Being One has been a little gem of horror-filled casual gameplay, combining all of the above elements into an interesting, mysterious, serialized tale. Now that tale has come to an end. Was it worth the journey? That is up to the player to decide.

Escape from the Scenic Room You're in a room with a beautiful view of the horizon. An Escape from the Scenic Room might be the last thing you're interested in doing, but in Tesshi-e's latest escape game of the same name, that's exactly what you're tasked with. The bouncy accordion music somehow fits the atmosphere quite well, the visuals are realistic but not overwhelmingly so, and the puzzles are well-designed and flow perfectly.

Being One:
Episode 5 - Infection We thought we had seen the last of Being One. Now he's back, though, and he's looking for vengeance. But nothing is as it seems in Being One: Episode 5 - Infection, the newest in Psionic's series of horror adventure games. Awesome atmosphere and twisty plotting is hampered by a lack of documentation and an abrupt ending, but all fans of sci-fi horror should love it.

Lodger New developer SARAMEYA has entered the scene with Lodger, a curious black and white room the likes of which no ordinary house would contain. As delightful as your company may be, you'd really like to leave the room, so get your thinking cap on and keep an eye out for clues that could lead, directly or indirectly, to your egress.

House It is a classic horror scenario: the car broken down in the middle of the road, the swirling snow and biting cold, the beckoning light visible just over the hill. A house! Oh, thank goodness. Two Blues is very, very Tomatea, with intuitive puzzles, masterful graphics and sound, clues that can be hidden in plain sight and yet still baffle you just enough, and a few classic puzzles.

Prism Core The third installment of the Core series, Prism Core, has just been released by John Feltham of Arcade Cabin. The game is similar in concept to the previous two in that you must figure out how to power the core using the various tools from around the room. This one proves to be somewhat more difficult than the previous games, however.
