Clowns in the Face Which sounds worse: tennis or clowns? Ha, trick question! They're both equally creepy in their own way! 10tons totally gets that, which is why the team that brought us the physics puzzle game Tennis in the Face has released the follow-up Clowns in the Face. Now, instead of just smacking things in the face with tennis balls, you're smacking clowns in the face with tennis balls. Neat!

The Naked Alien The Naked Alien is an action platformer by Lucas Paakh that offers players a quirky encounter of the nude kind, as its titular being sets out to map uncharted territory. It's a little by-the-numbers, but The Naked Alien is strangely amusing, and definitely showcases the developers prodigious artistic talents.

Slayin Slayin isn't a game, it's a time machine rocketing from an 8-bit past. Pixel Licker's deliciously compulsive mashup of old school action RPG and contemporary endless runner-style progression is so infused with retro spirit that you might forget you're playing it on a device that lacks buttons.

Dream Factory When Detarou's playing Willy Wonka, any factory you visit is bound to be a little... off. A False Saint, An Honest Rogue A False Saint, An Honest Rogue, and one very cold adventurer. Created by Jeremiah Reid for the Seven Day Roguelike (7DRL) competition, this unusual game mixes survival and roguelike elements in a strange and often confusing way. But that's why we like it! You're out in the cold, you're freezing, you're starving, and you have to survive. Sounds fairly ordinary until you factor in the fact that you're going a bit mad from the chill, and many things you think you see don't make much sense at all. There's just one thing on your mind: go west.

24killers This party is hopping, but it's hard to enjoy it when someone wants you dead, and everyone is strange enough to be a suspect. Created in just seven days, this simple but uniquely stylish little puzzler has you asking questions of 24 monsters to figure out who's trying to kill you before they get to you first. That's... an extreme sort of party game. Couldn't you have just played charades?

Fortunately, Fred's body is a complex system, prepared for both everyday survival and extraordinary circumstances. And you'll be learning how it works, in Code Fred: Survival Mode, a collection of educational action minigames from Chicago's Museum of Science and Industry and Helpful Strangers.

Umiga As silent and weird as a Detarou can be, there is also much puzzle love to be found inside any escape-the-room game from this developer. Umiga is no exception: the puzzles massage your grey matter while surreal and oddball humor keeps a grin on your face. You'll need to do some extra footwork and thinking to put together clues, but it's always the right amount of difficulty to be exceedingly fun.

Anodyne Broom attack! Also, you might be trapped in a dream. Or some other sort of subconscious realm. It's tough to tell, but judging from the strange sights and the cryptic "as legend has foretold" messages from sages and statues, there's definitely something odd going on here. Anodyne from Sean Hogan and Jonathan Kittaka is an adventure through a melancholy world that plays out like a classic 16-bit RPG. It borrows some of the best micro-concepts from games like The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening, Yume Nikki, and even Earthbound, creating a world that's as innocent as it is moving and as dangerous as it is surreal.

Nano Kingdoms 2: Joker's Revenge I told you! I told you not to trust clowns! And now the kingdom is in peril AGAIN because one seriously creepy jester has kidnapped the royal family! In this simple but gorgeously made realtime strategy game, you'll travel across the land besting and recruiting a roster of heroes with unique abilities to defeat your foes in defensive combat and eventually bring peace to the kingdom once more.

Wild Heroes Calling all heroes! It's up to you to defend the castles of the kingdom in Wild Heroes. In this tower defense game you must place your heroes wisely to keep the enemy at bay. Upgrade them to wild status to really do some damage. Show the monsters what a hero is really capable of!

EvoLand Remember when? Nicolas Cannesse's short action-adventure/interactive art piece will have you asking yourself that as you go on a journey through the evolution of games. Made in just 48 hours for Ludum Dare, it'll remind you that there was a time when polygons didn't exist, save points were a myth, and just how far we've come over all.

Myosotis: Chapter 3 This third installment of Mike Morin's surreally noir point-and-click adventure, continues to chronicle Rick plight to save his wife, Lily. SkullFace If lil' SkullFace is going to make it through the Greg Sergeant-developed action platform game that bears his name, he's going to have to run, jump and duck like a mad-skull, since spikes, enemies and magic portals abound! SkullFace is an engaging, if unforgiving platform with tight controls and that parkour-perfect sense of flow.

Alone in the Park (Amidos & Vartagh) In this adorable little multidirectional shooter, Alone in the Park, you play John the Cook, who after a long day at work, closes down his restaurant and decides to take a shortcut through the park. Big mistake. Because, as we all know, walking alone at night in the park is just asking for a purple multidimensional portal to open up and suck you into a parallel universe controlled by evil mushrooms. In more conventional shooters, you'd have your pick of shotguns, ninja stars, or BFGs. But you're just a cook afterall, so you'll have to make due with thrown cigarettes and pizza cutters, at least until you've earned enough points to upgrade your weapons

OFUROooBa Detarou, Detarou, what can I make of you? There's no sense in trying to analyze the entirely inappropriate weirdness involved in a Detarou escape-the-room game. All that's needed to be known are the puzzles are cunning, the interface is well-designed, it has three endings and there are scenes that only Detarou could pull off to such surreal hilarity. Be forewarned: you may never be able to look at the color green again!

Incursion The forces of darkness are at it again in this tower defense game. They'll send wave after wave against you as you use your soldiers, mages, and archers to hold them back. Place towers in the designated spots to start training your troops. Upgrade your units in multiple ways to find the best strategy for each level. Evil won't know what hit it.

Fluffy Steel In this sliding block-style puzzler by Mibix, a flying squirrel faces off against the natural predator of all rodentia: zombies. The cartoony graphics don't quite mesh with the strategic gameplay, but the levels are well designed and the scream the squirrel makes as he flies off the screen is schadenfreudely hilarious.

Haunted Halloween Escape Haunted Halloween Escape drops you into a room full of spooky features and creatures. TeraLumina knows how to make a good game; the atmosphere is excellent, with the graphics and sound adding perfectly to it without being too distracting, and the puzzles flow just fine. Even the added challenge of making the game Halloween-themed didn't affect its quality. It's an excellent escape, and if you'd like a little Halloween in your day, here it is.

The Visit It's a beautiful day outside! The sun is shining, the crabs are trundling, and it's time to go visit your girlfriend! Nothing could possibly stand in your way... uh... right? A short and very simple parody platformer with multiple endings that makes fun of the expectations we have for these games.

More concept that full game, but beautifully designed for its 48 hour creation period.

Jacksmith Join Jack and his friend Scout on the trail of the dastardly wizard who nabbed the princess, learning to forge increasingly more powerful weapons for the soldiers who are willing to pick up arms for you, and gather new, more powerful blueprints and materials along the way. Despite there being nary a fast food item in sight, gameplay is pretty similar to Flipline's Papa's series of games... only with steel and pigmen.

Death vs. Monstars 2 The monsters, sorry, MONSTARS are at it again, and it's up to Death and his trusty array of lasers, bullets, and special abilities to put things right... one explosion at a time. This sequel to 2009's arcade arena shooter smash hit packs a visual upgrade in addition to more gameplay, bigger challenges, and all the monstars you can handle.

SpellStorm Though not particularly deep, this top-down arcade action game is definitely polished. Unleash devastating magical spells and blast your way up through a tower filled with tons of monsters and massive bosses, snatching coins to purchase upgrades and new abilities with along the way.

Jack Tube, the armless white rabbit from the Begamer game fo the same name, would gladly traverse 13 levels of puzzle platforming madness... with the help of your clicking finger, of course. Although the control scheme and some of the gimmicks in later levels make it clear that Begamer isn't doing a perfect job of disguising its usual point-and-clickery, and it's not exactly a difficult game, this is definitely a clever and interesting departure from the formula-- and if that doesn't grip you, the charming visuals and audio most likely will.

Somewhere in England, 1928 As an investigation goes horribly wrong, William and Thomas must run for their lives. This CGDC #10 fourth-place finishing entry is a classic style point-and-click adventure game. Escape through the mansion before the monster catches up to you. Can you help the investigators escape before it's too late?

Earn to Die It's a vision of the future we've all considered at one time or another: zombies have taken over the world, and the only way we can get to safety is to drive beat-up old vehicles across the barren landscape, splatting undead walkers as we floor it until we're out of gas. Earn to Die lets us play out that inevitable reality in the safety of our own mobile devices, dropping you in a desert and giving you a hefty garage of upgrades and the ability to earn cash by running into the wilderness and stunt driving as far as you can over and over again. Despite being a teensy bit repetitive, Earn to Die has that lovely ability to keep us hooked, probably because we get to crush zombies with sawblades attached to our bumper.

Second Wind Love roguelikes but wish all that permadeath would lighten up a little? This fabulously retro and witty game might just be for you. Venture deep into dungeons and other areas populated by bizarre monsters and strange people as you quest towards one of four different endings and unlock a total of 20 classes. Offering a surprising amount of depth, laughs, and addictiveness, it's a great casual introduction to the roguelike genre, and a lot of fun for fans.

Pheus and Mor Pheus and Mor, a boy and his dog. Best friends forever, right? This puzzle platformer puts that to the test, combining stunning, dreamlike levels with ominous foreshadowing for a flawed but engaging experience. Both characters will have to work together and use their strengths to get to the end, but are they ready for what's waiting for them on the other side of that locked door?

Vivirion An arcade avoidance game by Mortar Games that has you controlling a small. fragile virus, attacked on all sides by the defenses of the host body. The Fishy-styled gameplay little slow going at first, but the eerie atmosphere and a surprisingly affecting final level make Vivirion worth playing until the very end.

Pakkuman's Defense You've got a few minutes before you have to be at work. That means it's time for a game! But what to play, Pac-Man or a tower defense game? How about both? From Tametick, the creator of Cardinal Quest, comes Pakkuman's Defense, a surprisingly superb melding of the classic arcade game Pac-Man and a modern tower defense game. There are ghosts. There are dots to eat. There are towers to place. And yes, you're going to have a blast with this unusual hybrid!

Creatively Complicated Point-and-click your way through a short list of complications to heroically rescue a damsel in distress. Using a touch of clever problem solving and item management, you'll soon reach the end of this creatively unassuming puzzle game. The blend of whimsical sketchwork and mild challenge ensures your left brain and right brain will be feeling quite pleased to have this meeting of the minds.

Kodachrome A simple errand takes a turn for the surreal when our hero, forced away from the video game console and out of the house, stumbles down a hole into the middle of the earth where he is, of course, tasked with tracking down magical gems. The same thing happened to me the other day. A little bit retro, mixed with a healthy dose of metroidvania and high-difficulty platforming, and Kodachrome is a weird but appealing little challenge.

Mission US: Flight to Freedom Flight to Freedom is the second in the series of Mission US educational point-and-click adventure game titles focusing on American History, created by Electric Funstuff under the auspices of New York PBS Station Channel 13. The year is 1848. The tenuous balance that had been struck concerning the issue of slavery wavers in the face of a nation expanding by conquest and treaty. Living in these tumultuous times is Lucy, a 14 year old slave of Kentucky's King Plantation. Lucy must balance her wishes for freedom with the risk of recapture, but an incident on the farm will force the issue sooner than she'd ever thought. What can a slave do? An intelligent and thought-provoking game that should appeal to both its student audience, and anyone with a passing interest in history.

Quietus 2 In the sequel to the original high-difficulty platformer, you've squandered your second chance at life, and your miserly existence has earned you yet another boot back down below. But the Reaper's not quite ready to give up on you, and if you can escort an innocent soul safely out of the infernal depths, you'll earn your place in heaven. Provided, of course, you have the reflexes to survive.

The Haunting of Magnolia Manor No one respects the rights of ghosts these days. Wether it's a bunch of drunken teenagers with a Quija board or wannabe "ghost hunters" from no-name basic cable channels, no self-respecting ghost can find a moment's peace. Well, for the undead and their sympathisers, the moment of catharsis has finally come, with Kelly Weaver and Jimmy Hinson's action-packed little real-time strategy game, The Haunting of Magnolia Manor. It may have a simple premise, but it manages to do what all the best realtime strategy games can: provide a fast-paced, action-packed, knucklebiting good time...at least, if you still have knuckles to bite.

Platcore Platcore, an avoidance game by Chris Jeffries, pushes you to achieve perfection by threatening to destroy you with lasers, guns and the laws of physics. These are surprisingly good motivators, as it turns out! Platcore is definitely worth a look for action and avoidance fans.

Handheld Video Game Trapped inside a classic Gameboy, help an anonymous little 8-bit character to escape his world in this retro platform game from Folmer Kelly. Or don't, and take him through an endless gauntlet of spikes and platforms. It's short but worth the 5 minutes it takes to beat.

Route 401 Motel The fatal flaw of many adventure games is that they are too complicated, or seem to think you have days and countless Friday nights to spare in the completion of unintuitive or unfair puzzles. Well, at least Ori Brusilvsky understands your pain and created Route 401 Motel, a fun little point-and-clicker that most of us mere mortals can finish and enjoy in the span of a couple of coffee breaks.

Drift Runners 3D The newest installment of the racing series by LongAnimals and Biscuit Locker is out, and that means it's time to strap on your seatbelt, pretend your automatic is a stick shift, and start doing donuts in the supermarket parking lot. Or you could just sit within the safe confinues of your comfy home office with the speakers turned up and enjoy the virtual fun.

Planet Juicer Space mining comes with certain dangers. Top of the list is the constant threat of attack from natives, who just don't seem to appreciate your need for the minerals on their planet. There's a constant need to defend mining operations that many people never see, and in Planet Juicer, a side-view tower defense game from Yellow Bouncy Ball, you're in charge of keeping the mine safe.

Stable Boy Stable Boy is a charming little retro throwback to the good old days of adventure gaming, featuring some great pixel art and humor that's more Monty Python than King's Quest. The controls are simple, as is the premise: get out there and explore, try out different endings, and try to help out villagers, and don't forget to chuckle at all the Ren Faire tropes.

Legend of the Void 2: The Ancient Tomes A day in The Void just wouldn't be complete without some bandits, skeletons, necromancers and wolves attacking you. Following the first Legend of the Void game without skipping a scene, Legend of the Void 2 by Obelisk Games is an intense, item-heavy browser-based role playing game that takes a very serious approach to the genre, aiming to emulate the experience of a full-fledged console or PC RPG without all the overhead. The result is a great sequel that continues right where the first game left off, dumping you in a world packed with monsters on a quest to, well, just stay alive.

Flood Runner 4 Carnivorous plants. Lava. Rising tides. Fire. A Tyrannosaurus Rex. You know... maybe this cave wasn't such a great place to hang out after all? Run for as long as you can to stay one step ahead of certain doom, earning achievements and upgrades along the way, in this latest installment in the popular arcade action series.

Nobushi This wonderfully weird escape-the-room game has all the characteristic surrealism you expect from Detarou. The puzzles are quite thinky but never unfairly difficult. That doesn't mean Detarou won't try to trick you so keep your eyes open, and do your best to avoid, the "bad" end. Collect all ten Saito figures and find the red stamp if you want the very best ending. You might have to jiggle a pudgy belly to get there, but the fun you have along the way makes it worth it.
