What makes a monkey go happy? It's not bananas, and it's not even treats! What really cheers up a monkey is bats, and it's up to you to solve all 22 puzzles in this point-and-click game from Pencil Kids to let the bats fly free!
The monkeys need something a little ghoulish to cheer them up, so in this latest Halloween themed point-and-click puzzle adventure, you'll need to hunt around and solve puzzles in order to gather body parts... hey, it's all in good fun!
It's Halloween, and everyone's out trick-or-treating, including Japanese developer Choko-Chai's trademark three cats. When they visit the wrong house and end up locked inside, though, it's time once again for them to escape. Choko-Chai's games have a charm all their own; the puzzles are neither too challenging nor too easy, there's a changing cursor right where it counts, the cats' animated antics are hard to tire of, and the one time there's a puzzle that requires knowledge of something Japanese, the creator provides a Wikipedia link.
Here comes some Halloween spirit with Headless Zombie, the sweetest gruesome puzzle platformer in recent history. Help Carl, the adorable once-nobleman-now-zombie reach the evil usurper wizard and reclaim his former life. Carl will have to use his head to reach his goal, and we do mean that literally – he can toss his head around like a spooky basketball, which will certainly come in handy.
Habla Kadabla is a short, sweet, Halloweeny point-and-click game by Carmel Games with a crime-solving twist. Which is why she's really upset when someone steals her enchanted cash register, along with all her money. Like your games to be super scary? Or just a little spooky? Whatever your tastes, this week's supersized edition of the Vault has something for you as we feature some of our favourite Halloween-y games from years past, from puzzles to point-and-clicks!
A poor little witch is in quite a kerfuffle. Her entire home and front yard look like the little witch conjured a tornado and every item she owns is scattered all about. It's in her best interest for you to help find all the items that she simply can't spot. There's a small catch, however; You only have a small amount of time to find the objects and misclicking will take away that time. In the interest of a Happy Halloween instead of mean tricks, help the little witch in this cheerful hidden object game!
Haunted Halloween Escape drops you into a room full of spooky features and creatures. TeraLumina knows how to make a good game; the atmosphere is excellent, with the graphics and sound adding perfectly to it without being too distracting, and the puzzles flow just fine. Even the added challenge of making the game Halloween-themed didn't affect its quality. It's an excellent escape, and if you'd like a little Halloween in your day, here it is.
FrozenFire and Jon Sandness are back with a spookified expansion pack to their popular Symphonic Tower Defense. Once again it is time for the master conductor to dust the cobwebs from his baton and take a stand against the awesome power of awesome music in Symphonic Tower Defense Halloween. While the soundtrack is a tad more scary and the aesthetics a bit more orangey, gameplay pretty much the same as the previous installment. That's not a bad thing: those who liked the original will love to have more of it, and those new to the series will find this a perfect place to jump in.
After a long night of haunting and spooking, there's nothing that your average vampire/mummy/witch likes more than going home to the comfort of their own coffin/sarcophagus/cauldron. In Halloween Shooter, a physics puzzler by GameShot, it's your job to blast them all home for a good day's sleep. Very polished in presentation, with some excellently designed set pieces, Halloween Shooter has a cool retro aesthetic and bouncy sound effects.
Spiders. Why did it have to be a top-hatted, web-slinging, physics puzzling spider? Because it's Halloween, sillies, and a fun way to honor the holiday is by playing this whimsically macabre game. But beware! The difficulty curve might just scare you! Definitely a game to tingle the spines of the physics puzzle pro, but even the less adept should give a few levels a try for some spooky fun.
Looking for something Halloween-y but not ghoulish for the little boil or ghoul in your life? Fire up this cute and colourful spot-the-difference game that's big on bright charm and lacking in the spooks department.
Straight from the ghastly hallows of Nitrome comes the hobbling horror of a humdinger, Stumped! As a hopping foot that can only make right turns, can you bounce your way to the exit while dodging piercing spikes, frightening firepits, and eerie eyeballs?
This is your chance to be the spook, and we don't mean the sort that stare at goats. This simply vibrant and unusual action puzzler by the Super Flash Bros puts you in the role of a ghost who seeks to haunt a house in peace and quiet, but your house has been overrun by a bunch of noisy party guests and it's up to you to scare the living daylights out of all thirty, yes thirty, of them.
In the sequel to smash-hit point-and-click horror game The House, the locals think an abandoned dwelling is haunted for good reason... the entire family committed suicide there. But that's just a legend... right? One of the most stylish and terrifying free online games you'll ever play!
Roly-Poly Monsters is the latest in a series of arcade games from Johnny K. Ghouls are roaming the neighborhood, and it's your job to destroy them! Drop bombs on the baddies' heads in the correct sequence and with the proper timing to send them back to whatever bad Halloween party they came from.
There's a cabin in the woods you should stay away from. A quiet little place where time almost seems to stand still. But if you do ignore the warnings and pay a visit, in that dark place, you might want to do a favour for the cabin's lonely occupant. If you don't, you may find yourself staying a long, long time. A point-and-click adventure of paranormal investigation.
Quest in the Dark is an exceptionally cute and surprisingly engaging point-and-click adventure. Navigate through the haunted mansion, collecting items and solving puzzles as you go. Beware the various ghosts and skeletons that stand in your path (or don't. They aren't that bad, as it turns out), and above all else, don't forget to find the magic potion that will set you free!
In Crypt Keeper, you find yourself plunked down in the middle of a truly spooktastic graveyard. How and why did you get there? Not important. It's the middle of the night, and there are creepy noises and big ominous tombstones and omigosh you need to get out right now!
Ghostscape, a new escape game by Psionic, is just chock full of supernatural goodness. You play a veteran investigator of the occult who, upon hearing rumors of a haunted house, cannot stay away...and what a paranormal gold mine it turns out to be! Chairs and cups move as if grasped by some invisible hand, mysterious diary entries litter the floor, grotesque paintings adorn every room. And then, of course, there are the ghosts.
Thank you for your interest in the the Numbskull puzzle playset from Nitrome toys, the makers of the Twang construction set, Final Ninja combat gear, and In the Dog House sliding puzzle game. This manual will teach you how to use this playset, unleashed just in time for the Halloween season.
Neutral Halloween mini-game is what I'm calling this cute and easy escape game with a Halloween theme (well, it used to have a Halloween theme. The pumpkin has been replaced with a piggy bank now.) It features the same excellent implementation features of all the other Neutral games, along with simple yet appealing and effective graphics. I'm sure you will find this one worthwhile of your time!
The Phantom Mansion: Spectrum of Souls series puts you in control of Hector, a little spiky-haired dude whose mission is to rescue the many spirits trapped in a giant, foreboding mansion. You must guide Hector through rooms of increasing difficulty in order to save all the souls, collecting keys, dodging spooky-yet-adorable monsters and solving puzzles in order to make it through unscathed.
Whether you're going for the gingerbread transmutation or the old fashioned stew, you gotta respect the rights of satanic magick users to extend their lives indefinetly by robbing life from the young. If you're on board with that proposition, you'll like Witchhunt: Nooboo Mary, a time-based defense game where you defend a witch's house from an angry mob of villagers.

Hello, faithful readers, and welcome to a special spookified edition of Link Dump Friday! In honor of the season, I've chosen a few of my favorite previously-reviewed games (including a few new ones) with a spooky edge. We've got ghosties, beasties, sleepy vampir-ies, tentacle monsters and, naturally, Garfield! So get out that bowl of candy corn, put on the "Monster Mash" and settle in with one of these fun titles.
Slingoween combines the rubberband-flicking action of Sling with the familiar climbing theme found in games such as Winterbells. It's a simple game with little more than earning a high score as a goal, but the flying pumpkins, ghosts and Halloween candy help kick off the impending holiday with style.
A short isometric Flash point-and-click adventure game just begging to be played around Halloween time. Trapped inside a haunted house you must hunt for keys to unlock doors that lead outside. The fun part is you get to choose from eighteen different playable characters, each with a unique Halloween costume.
Troglodite is a simple action game that's just perfect for this time of year. It's a simple game of collecting gems while avoiding ghosts, with appealing graphics and sound. A lovely little Halloween treat.
Halloween Hangman is a simple, cute, and rather amusing Halloween-themed game of hangman. Choose letters from the tiles on screen and try to guess the mystery word or phrase. Make a wrong choice and the smarty-pants skeleton hanging from a rope will hand you a snide comment or two.
Bill the Demon is an action adventure platformer with a very nice old-school flair to it. In the game you play as Bill, a lowly demon with a voracious appetite for human souls. To prove himself worthy to his peers, Bill sets out on a mission to the Ninth Circle of Hell to fetch the devil's autograph.
From Robotduck comes this delightfully original and fiendishly challenging platformer with a sweet Halloween theme. Run and jump around platforms while avoiding enemies to grab all the candy on each level. And since Villiam is a vampire, he can turn into a bat and fly for a short duration, except that he needs candy to fuel his flight.
Deanimator is an elegantly simple, gorgeous and gruesome shooter that was inspired by one of H. P. Lovecraft's short stories, Herbert West: Reanimator, which is the gruesome tale of an eccentric young doctor with a penchant for experiments that involve reanimating the dead. If you have the stomach for survival horror, don't miss this one.
Soul Master is a decent game and one that fits with the current Halloween theme. The object of the game is to free enough souls within the time limit to make it to the next hell (level). There are ten (10) hells to complete, each requiring more souls to advance than the previous one.
In Translymania, you play as a cute little vampire whom is trying to get some rest. Unfortunately for you, those pesky villagers are up to their antics again and have invaded your castle. They are milling about everywhere and disturbing your sleep. Use your vamptastic powers to turn them all into the undead, and return to your coffin before sunrise.
Enter Jinx to save the day. This gorgeous and adorable Flash game has kids written all over it, including those who are only kids-at-heart. In his first episode, Jinx comes upon the house on the hill that is all lit up for once on a dark and stormy night. Upon knocking, the door opens and Jinx decides to go in and have a look around.
A recent addition to David Thorburn's Teagames.com website, Zombie Romp is a 2D side-scrolling melee shooter the likes of which are beyond this world. The object of this simple shooter is to stay alive by shooting zillions of zombies and battling a battalion of bats.
The Stone of Anamara is a creepy point-and-click adventure game, created by Gabriel Rodriguez, that spans multiple chapters. In this first chapter, you uncover the story behind the asylum doctor, Alexander Graves, and the mysterious illness of one of his patients.
In a mad free-for-all running door-to-door grabbing as much candy as you can, let nothing or no one stand in your way. And when you're all done, come back inside and have some fun with this cute little game from Cartoon Network where you get to do it all over again.
And what would Halloween be without a little gore? Five Finger Fillet, from the now defunct 13th Street website of Universal Studios, is a Shockwave game to test your reflexes and your stomach. Be careful or you'll lose a finger. =p
A very creepy, very scary Flash adventure game from Ben Leffler of Australia. Exmortis begins with you waking up in the woods with a lump on your head and unable to recall how you got there. All you recall are the dreams. Regaining focus, you see a house up ahead and decide that shelter there is better than freezing to death in the woods. Think of the house at the end of Blair Witch and you'll be right at home.
Six Feet Under is a Flash game with instructions in German, so here is my take on the action: On the way to the cemetery, Alex, the hearse-driving coffin chauffeur, has to step on the gas to make it to the burial on time. Help Alex deliver the coffin by speeding to the cemetary and launching the coffin into the graveyard.
Garfield.com has another charming haunted house adventure up featuring Garfield as the main character, of course. The object of Scary Scavenger Hunt II: Donuts of Doom is very similar to the first one: escape the haunted house without getting too scared. To escape, simply find and collect all seven (7) packages of donuts.
Scary Scavenger Hunt is a cute point-and-click adventure set in a haunted house and stars Garfield, from Garfield.com. It is a well-produced adventure with smooth animation, lots of great scary music and sound effects, and plenty of harmless yet frightening situations.
