Prism Core The third installment of the Core series, Prism Core, has just been released by John Feltham of Arcade Cabin. The game is similar in concept to the previous two in that you must figure out how to power the core using the various tools from around the room. This one proves to be somewhat more difficult than the previous games, however.

Ambivalence Instead of walking around a room turning over objects and poking your nose in every corner, in Ambivalence your goal is to unlock a very secure-looking door that sits right in front of you. The fun twist is that you play from both sides of the door, switching views with the click of a button. Items you find on one side do not transfer to the other, creating a unique collaboration-style atmosphere where you are your own partner.

Cube Core Cube Core is an attractive point-and-click, room escape game that recently made the rounds. It's not a very long game and it is quite logical to solve, though in at least one part you will have to be extra observant to catch a clue or you will be looking for a walkthrough quicker than you can say "Area 51".

Escape Series #3: The Phone Booth Escape: The Phone Booth is the third installment in the popular "Escape" series that has you facing off against a phone booth. As usual, there is no plot behind your encasement. All that matters is that you need to escape! The queue of items at your disposal is extremely limited, so you need to make the best of what you can in such a tight space... Ow, my elbow!

Trapped Part 1: The White Rabbit The game is an interesting twist on your standard point-and-click. While you still use found items to solve puzzles and escape the house in which you are trapped, Trapped trades in the standard first person view for a pseudo-3D isometric third person perspective. Use your clicking finger and your puzzling skills to collect items and combine items, and to get out.

Beethoven's Hair Beethoven's Hair is a psychological vignette of a game. The piece is "part of a cross media project based on the true story of a lock of hair that was cut from Beethoven's head and the story of how it passed down through history." Unlock the keyhole and you'll discover a thoughtful and intriguing take on the escape-the-room genre that infuses the usual search dynamic with free-form exploration and historical fiction.

MuseLock MuseLock is a good-looking, highly enjoyable point-and-click room escape game with creative, interesting puzzles that only occasionally venture into the illogical. Surprisingly enough, the player wakes up in a room with no recollection of how he/she got there and an odd collection of objects as clues. A true pleasure for any point-and-click aficionado, this one will have you puzzling for quite a while.

Daymare Town DayMare Town is a strange and oddly deserted town that gives the unsettling feeling that eyes are peering from around corners. It is drab and dreary, not a very pleasant place to be. But now you're stuck, and you'll do anything you can to leave.

Phantasy Quest A throw back to the graphic adventures of days gone by, Phantasy Quest is a welcome and refreshing alternative to the myriad room escape games that plague the Web these days. RGB RGB is another great-looking room escape game by Japanese developer neutral, author of the previously reviewed Sphere. Not only is this game great looking, it plays exceptionally well with several puzzles that will perplex and confound you, though it won't take you long to solve. There are two different ways to escape, can you find them?

Rental House Enter the Rental House and note the viridian green walls. This Japanese-made adventure offers a quality game play experience packed with puzzles that will force you to think logically. It is a straight forward game of its genre with only a couple of minor pixel hunts involved. Easy enough to complete on ones own, and yet challenging to give you about an hour's worth of fun.

O Cofre Fresh out of the game development oven from Brazilian developer Andres Calil, a sequel to O Quarto—the excellent point-and-click room escape game from a couple of months ago—titled O Cofre (The Safe). Expect the same smooth visuals and intriguing puzzles as the first game, but with a darker atmosphere flavored with the promise of danger lurking around the corner.

O-RI-GA-MI The setting of O-RI-GA-MI is made entirely of pieces of folded paper, making it probably the only handcrafted ETR in existence. From the furniture to the code panel to the unconventional fauna, almost everything that you see has been created out of a piece of paper and photographed in position. When you play, don't rush through it like you might some other games; this one is meant to be savored.

Sphere Sphere is a great-looking room escape by Japanese developer neutral. The visuals have a wonderful polished 3D appearance that seem a bit surreal at times, almost as if you were inside a doll house. The challenge level is an almost perfect mix of vague clues and helpful hints that keep you interested without frustrating you.

Escape Series #2: The Closet The second installment in Shawn Tanner's Escape Series has been released: Escape Series #2: The Closet. Each game has no plot, no characters, and no motive, just bare-bones point-and-click room escaping. The first game had us trapped in a car, and now we've moved indoors and are stuck inside a closet. Search the area for items you can use to help you escape!

Dwarf Complete On of Eyezmaze continues to impress and amaze us with his game development skills, and Dwarf Complete is no exception. Perhaps his most ambitious project to date, the game was commissioned for the online RPG, Lineage II, and it even features dwarves from that game. Dwarf Complete is an amazingly good adventure puzzle game with quality, presentation and gameplay that all helped push this title to the top of the Best of 2007.

O Quarto O Quarto is a great looking point-and-click game made by Andres Calil of Me Pixa. Once again you are trapped in a room and must search the area for items to help you escape. The art style of this game is superb and reminds me of an interactive oil painting. The game is also quite mysterious and offers some wonderfully perplexing mysteries that must be solved in order to escape.

Escape Series #1: The Car Escape Series #1: The Car is a point-and-click room escape game that does everything it should do without venturing beyond the scope of the genre. Regardless of its normal appearance, The Car provides a great room escape experience that's both fulfilling and free from random pixel hunting. Short and sweet, and with more installments to come.

New Mystery of Time and Space (MOTAS) rooms! MOTAS is continually updated with new rooms to find your way out of, and this latest update puts the level count to 17. Can you solve them all?

Purgatorium Purgatorium is a short and creepy point-and-click escape-the-room game with some rather horrific graphic visuals nestled inside. If you have played either of Ben's other horror-genre interactive narratives, Exmortis and Exmortis 2, then you may already know what to expect. Created especially for Casual Gameplay.

Out 2: Out of File Out 2: Out of File is the sequel to the room escape game Out File #01 by Isomura Kai of Tonakai Interactive. The story picks up after escaping the room in the first game and walking through a long winding cave. Now you find yourself in an underground complex filled with computers and machinery with no way to make it to the surface.

Dona Room 2 Dona Room 2 is the second room escape game from Japanese flash designer Noaki Nakashima. The game is every bit as quirky and amusing as the original Dona Room and offers more great point-and-click gameplay. The entire game takes place in your kitchen where a note from your mother says you must find a snack before you can leave. Unfortunately the potato chips and cake are locked away, so you must find items and solve puzzles in order to get to them. The game has a little Japanese text but is completely playable without knowledge of the language.

Thief A flash design project by Phillip Reagan of Texas, USA, Thief weaves a cryptic atmosphere with captivating puzzles to pull you into a story you didn't even realize you were participating in. Thief is a well-deserving runner-up in our very first Casual Gameplay Design Competition.

Developer Code Developer Code is a series of six (6) point-and-click games of the escape-the-room variety, brought to us by IBM in China. The gameplay is the usual for this kind of game: For a reason unknown to you, you find yourself in a locked room with no apparent way out.

The Bonte Room 2 Bonte Room 2 is the sequel to Bart Bonte's first room escape game we featured back in December. The game shares a lot with its predecessor, including simplistic art style, room layout, and a strange animal that's integral to solving the game's puzzles.

JeuOnamis is a short room escape game perfect for a coffee break. It takes place in a single black-and-white room that appears to be in the depths of a nuclear power plant (cue Mr. Burns). There is no narration or story, just the implied goal of trying to leave through the big locked door in the center.

Magneto Syndrome Magneto Syndrome is a point-and-click room escape game created by Juliana Reina. The main character has been infused with the power to control metallic objects. He regains consciousness and his first thought is to escape. It's going to prove a little difficult, seeing as how he's stuck inside a water-filled tube. Using his powers of magnetic manipulation, it's your job to help him make his run for freedom.

Firewall A Flash point-and-click game of the escape-the-room variety, Firewall is an advergame to promote this week's release of the new Harrison Ford film of the same name. Although fairly straightforward for a game of this genre, the team at Pod Digital Design have crafted an enjoyable interactive experience and injected a bit of randomness into it so that items are not always found in the same places.

White Chamber Created by Toshimitsu Takagi, the mastermind behind several of the very best escape-the-room type games available on the Web today, the White Chamber follows the same compelling point-and-click formula that made its predecessor, Viridian Room, so successful and enjoyable to play. Not to be missed.

The Dark Complex The Dark Complex builds on the brilliant puzzle work of the first game, The Dark Room, by creating an entire complex of rooms, each with its own unique puzzle inside. This is a game that will keep you busy and mesmerized for hours. Be sure to bring a paper and pencil with you, you'll need them to find your way out of this dark, complex game.

The Unforgiven Room The opening scenario of Unforgiven Room is a nod to Takagi-san's original escape-the-room games, Crimson Room and Viridian Room, in which you wake up with a headache and can't remember a thing, nor even where you are. Such is the begining of a classic escape-the-room adventure.

Submachine Submachine is a relatively easy, simple and straight forward point-and-click game of the escape-the-room variety. It will engage your puzzle-solving skills for about 10-15 minutes, and if you haven't played this one already you're in for a treat. So very popular that it spawned a 'remix' and a sequel.

Alien in the Room games Two different light-hearted and cute, point-and-click adventure games to offer up today, and both feature the same extraterrestrial main character. And while the first has been available for a couple of months, the second game has just been released.

My Diamond Baby My Diamond Baby is a single-room point-and-click escape game. You start off as someone on a motorcycle on his way to give an engagement ring to his girlfriend. On his way he is involved in a motorcycle accident. When he regains consciousness he finds himself locked in a room without the engagement ring. This is by far the most challenging point-and-click game I have ever played. Imagine Crimson Room, Viridian Room, and the Blue Chamber all rolled up into one.

Dr. Stanley's House Dr. Stanley's House was created by James Li and is a point-and-click adventure game. It has a mysterious plot with some twists and turns that is very creepy at times. The lush colored graphics provide a striking contrast to the moody atmospheric soundtrack, with several cut scenes that develop the story as you play.
