SpyParty (beta) In the recently-opened beta of Chris Hecker's SpyParty, one player takes on the role of an unassuming spy, tasked with completing several objectives in a soiree setting. The other player is the sniper, tasked with identifying the spy and taking them out. It's a simple premise, but the action is nail-bitingly tense as both players engage in a sort of inverted Turing test, trying to fool each other until the final pull of the trigger. If you're looking for a gripping but quick challenge, grab a cocktail glass and join the party.

Such is the premise of Seeds, a vibrantly colored game by funstorm that tweaks the launch genre in the most adorable way imaginable.

Monty's Moon Follow your dreams! And if your dreams mean you have to pay a monkey scientist in bananas to reach the moon and a hypothetical lady monkey, well, so be it! Though it could use some more variety, this launch game has style and polish to burn for a simple but fun experience.

American Racing 2 TurboNuke knows how to do follow-ups right, and racing fans should definitely enjoy American Racing 2, the sequel to last year's arcade hit. The engine's been refined, if a little more CPU takes, but overall it should satisfy everyone's daily recommended need for speed.

Lune (Alpha) Though currently only in its alpha demo stage, this gorgeously atmospheric puzzler is still well worth checking out. Wield the power of the moon, and thus the light and the tide, as a young girl exploring a series of ruins and temples, manipulating the moon to change your environment and proceed deeper.

Darktopia Escape from a cursed alien tomb, find your crewmate and — if you're particularly fortunate — come out of it all with the brand new, uh, old fabulous Idol of Tavor as your lovely planetary parting gift. Metroidvania-style action and adventure await you in this sci-fi platformer.

Room Γ Here is a full scale escape-the-room adventure made (near) perfect by Kotorinosu's skillful design. Inexplicably locked inside these space age surroundings, with no narrative or changing cursor to guide you, you're left to your observational skills and ability to make connections between clues, using objects (repeatedly) to break through multiple locks until you are free. It's lengthy enough and challenging enough to hold you captive for most the afternoon, both in frustration and delight.

Ninja Miner When you think of miners, the first association isn't necessarily "ninja". And that's where you're wrong, because ninjas have what it takes: mad digging skills, awesome velocity, and they look cool in a yellow helmet. Ninja Miner is a fast-paced arcade game with some puzzles thrown in, where your goal is to figure out your way around a level, picking up all the diamonds and stars and avoiding spikes, all at breakneck speed.

A Dark Room A Dark Room will run quietly by itself in a tab in your browser with only minimal interaction at first. There's just you, the dark, dwindling wood, and a fire to stoke. But what might that light attract? What could you build if you dared venture the cold quiet outdoors? With gameplay that will remind you of Candy Box! but a decidedly creepier, more intriguing bent to go with simulation and adventure, A Dark Room is well worth checking out.

BackDoor Door 1: The Call What seems like a dream turns out to be reality... a very weird one. You wake up on the floor of a locked room with a voice over the telephone taunting you to find your way downstairs, but once you do, you'll find out your problems are just beginning in this short but appealingly oddball puzzle adventure game with a retro style.

The Night of the Rabbit Daedelic Entertainment's point-and-click adventure game The Night of the Rabbit is the equivalent of your childhood picturebooks: visually and aurally lush, with a cast of charming animal characters and a human boy as the plucky protagonist. It's an engaging companion for an evening's play but unfortunately it can also be a little too long-winded for its own good.

Don't Escape You're inside a tiny, one-room cabin with a ton of tools and items at your disposal. But instead of trying to escape like you'd expect, in this point-and-click puzzle game the object is to try to block off every possible avenue of egress. You're a werewolf, see, and you're determined to keep yourself trapped and the townsfolk safe at night. But it's harder than you might think...

Get ready to party the night away with cute talking bats, chic clairvoyant goth girls and giant malfunctioning robots in tpjh2d's premiere afterlife adventure mystery, Ghost Party!

7 Grand Steps 7 Grand Steps is a new story-driven game from Mousechief, creator of the multi-award-winning Dangerous High School Girls in Trouble. It's a tale of growing and evolving, progress and struggles, families and histories, all told through the lens of a token-operated machine. In practice, 7 Grand Steps is very much like a board game fused with interactive narrative elements. And like any game of substance, just talking about its parts doesn't do justice to the whole. This game will reach out and grab you on a whole different level. It has this uncanny ability to make you feel for the characters, which is surprising seeing as how you're just dropping tokens into slots.

On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness: Episode Four It seemed like Gabe and Tycho's plan to save the world was airtight except for ONE little detail someone forgot to mention, and now their entire party is stranded in the Under Hell. Mainly because the whole world was destroyed. Uh, whoops? To set things straight, you'll need to reunite your party and wrangle a veritable zoo of monsters to do your fighting for you in this wild and weird conclusion to the indie RPG series that gives a new meaning to the phrase "unique".

Colour Blind It may look cute and simple, but Nitrome's latest puzzler has some serious teeth to its challenge. The Happy Escape 5 When out on a stroll through the park, you come across a relaxing-looking cafe and decide to have a little repast. In the ordinary world, you'd order some food, eat and go. This is Tesshi-e's world, though, and you're inside an escape cafe. Now you have to search around for clues and useful items, solve puzzles and gather up ten happy coins before you can get the heart-shaped key and unlock the exit door. Mushbits 2 You thought they'd had their fill of cupcakes, but Z3lf's blue and purple bunnies are back for more puzzling goodness in Mushbits 2. More of a level pack than a true sequel, this game offers the same puzzle elements of the first with the addition of a few abilities. Oh, and giant, ground-shaking cats in the background. If you enjoy wracking your brain to the tune of cute graphics, get the bunnies their sugar-high in the fewest moves possible to earn your stars toward puzzling greatness.

Dark Dimensions: City of Ash Once again seek out Dark Dimensions, this time a small town destroyed by a volcano (and a father-daughter relationship gone terribly awry), and attempt to heal them in Dark Dimensions: City of Ash. Easy on the eyes and challenging for the brain, this is definitely something to look for in the hybrid adventure genre.

Save the Date! It was just supposed to be a simple dinner date with your friend Felicia. How did things go so horribly, horribly wrong? All you can do is try, try again... and experience the clever twists and mechanics this little gem has to offer.

A Duck Has An Adventure A duck may want many things. A simple life? An education? High adventure? Clearly there are choices to be made, and you're just the one to help! A Duck Has An Adventure is a humorous piece of CYOA interactive art by Daniel Merlin Goodbrey, and while it has more art than gameness, it's a quacking good time.

GeoGuessr Where in the world are you? Moon Waltz You are the master of weather! You control a werewolf! You can terrorize the town! Or you can help the werewolf go buy cigarettes! Mono The winner of the minimalism-themed Ludum Dare 26 game jam, Mono, a Java game by Timtip Games, is a uniquely artistic top-down mix of puzzles and skill. In it, you must guide an eye through a series of eight levels. It's over far too fast, but it's densely packed with interesting ideas and a well deserved victor.

DefEndless It never ends. Literally! This tower defense game will keep going until you die, as you place and combine gems around the field to keep enemies from reaching your loot. But when the game is over, you can start again with a brand new map and keep all the upgrades you bought, for a surprisingly clever twist on the defense genre, albeit without a lot of depth.

The Yawhg The Yawhg is coming... but nobody knows it yet, and in the six weeks leading up to its arrival to your cheerfully oblivious town, you'll guide up to four people in their daily lives. The choices you make and the skills you have them learn will come into play when the time comes, but more than anything else, this gorgeous and surreal fantasy visual novel/choose-your-own-adventure indie game is a fantastical piece of narrative work with tons of replayability.

Sinjid It has been seven years since Sinjid was thrown into prison, framed for the death of Master Fujin. Now he has a chance to clear his name in this action-RPG by Krin seven years in the making. A beautiful game with impressive ninja action, though with taxing loading times.

Lucky for her, there's all sorts of stuff lying around waiting for her to pick it up and put to good use as she tries to crack the case and catch the thief.

Monsterland 3: Junior Returns He's baaaaaaaaaack. Junior wants to play, and Senior wants to sleep. This time, in addition to a bunch of precarious physics puzzles, Senior's set up some traps to remain undisturbed. But Junior's not going to let that stand in his way, and he's even got a new trick... wings!

You Must Escape It's dark. You're lost. You have to rely on sound to find the exit in this maze while avoiding the traps laid for you... but something else is using sound to find you. Created for the Ludum Dare "minimalist" theme, this simple game that tasks you with finding your way out before something finds you. Though slow and repetitive, the formidable atmosphere of tension the game creates with sound and simple lines alone is truly remarkable.

Obsolescence Ever been attacked by a giant doily from outer space? At the very least, that's how we're choosing to interpret Connor Ullmann's bullet hell shooter Obsolescence. You'll face ten waves of kaleidoscopic bosses with lots of guns and shields to destroy as you blast your way to their cores. Your laser is always firing, so you can focus on moving around and staying alive... if you can.

Watergate 8-bit-lovers worldwide having been searching for the next lost retro work, and Watergate: The Video Game, could very well be that. Now some may claim that this point-and-click adventure game, was only recently developed by Samuel Kim, which is why things get so hilariously surreal. A wry combination of video game parody, pop culture riffing, and political satire, Watergate tries to be a lot of things, and it generally succeeds.

Lost Fluid Short but sweet, this little platform puzzle game stars a ball of blue alien goop that crashes into a strange and sterile place. You'll need to explore and solve a puzzle or two to find your real purpose, and though it's almost more concept than full game, is still worth the few minutes it'll take you.

Gorgeous, clever, and visually unique, the Queen of Snakes is a fantastic point-and-click adventure more than worth your time.

Castle: Never Judge A Book By Its Cover When a New York City book critic is murdered, dressed up to look like Frankenstein's monster, and hooked up to an electrical current, it's time to call the one detective who actually prefers the really weird cases: Kate Beckett. If she brings her "consultant," a mystery writer named Richard Castle, along with her, so much the better. Such is the premise of Castle: Never Judge A Book By Its Cover, a tie-in hidden object game that was written as a companion to the television show Castle. It appeals to more than just fans of the show, though, and blends hidden object scenes and puzzles seamlessly. Can you find the Hardcover Killer before it's too late?

a2 Developed in just one month, a2 is a remarkable achievement of a visual novel that packs a serious punch in its narrative.
