Night Rider Turbo

TrickyDriving on a highway at night is always a tricky proposition. But hey, you've gotten yourself a fully-loaded and tuned-up new used automotive demonstration of the best engineering that a country that no longer exists could provide. All you need to do is gently ease off the clutch, places your hands on the steering wheel at the 10 and 2 position and... oh my. That's not a good sign. Night Rider Turbo is a driving simulation game by Sos Sosowksi, given the caveat that what it is being simulated is a driver hopped up on absinthe behind the wheel of a car made entirely out of porcelain. You'll use the mouse to push, turn, and activate the various items in your car, avoiding the other cars in the road, attempting to get as far as possible. However, any promise of an extended road trip would sadly be nothing but the basest of fictions.

Night Rider TurboThere are games out there that you know in your heart of hearts that at their core is perhaps nothing but simplistic gimmickry. And yet, you'll play it twenty times over the course of a week, perhaps without realizing it, just because the darn thing is so unique and so out there. Night Rider Turbo is one of those games. Each playthrough is just an exercise in delaying the spark-filled, explosive inevitable. But you know what? I am inexplicably proud of how the Trickymobile made it 4 km before it burst into its component parts. Let's see if you can do better!

7,298 km on my 5th try. Entertained me for about 5 minutes. Not gonna play this again.

Just because you can get over 2km, kongaroo...

I'm trying to work out if there is a skill to this game. Is there a particular action/order that prevents my car from melting so quickly?
Can I punch my windscreen out to regain vision?

I cannot get over 2km but pulling out the radio changes the music to a better tune to listen to while my windshield is being bashed in.

I think I actually did better once I ripped my steering wheel off. At least, I didn't hit nearly as many as cars as when I was trying to be careful.

And surprisingly enough, I made it to 2.1km...

Reminds me of the same patent absurdity as Surgeon Simulator.

Gatamari Escape 25> SonicLover You blacked out while hiking and woke up in a lab-slash-prison of some sort, and those men guarding the exit probably won't let you by peacefully. As the introductions of Gatamari escapes go, this isn't one of the more elaborate ones, but it certainly serves the purpose of setting up Gatamari Escape 25. Where are you? How will you escape? And just what interest did these men have in you, anyhow?  ...

The Terrible Old Man> Dora There's a frail and senile old man, they say, who lives alone on the edge of town and pays for his groceries with gold dubloons... the perfect mark for a trio of goons in this short but supremely creepy freeware indie point-and-click adventure based on the original tale by Lovecraft.  ...
Mega Man Legacy Collection> Tricky Super fighting robot! Mega Man! Super fighting robot! Mega Man is here again with the Mega Man Legacy Collection! CAPCOM and Digital Eclipse join forces to bring the first six games in the series to the PC for the first time (legally), with all the platforming fun and random difficulty spikes every child of the NES generation will remember. The combination emulation/re-creation is a little shaky in its current form, but overall, this is a museum exhibit of a series that demanded to be preserved for future generations.  ...
