Moirai

JohnBMoirai is a short, experimental-style first person adventure game created by Chris Johnson, Brad Barrett and John Oestmann. By most appearances it seems to be a straightforward exploration game with a few characters to talk to and a cave to explore. But Moirai has one key feature that makes it worth several minutes of your time... you'll just have to play it yourself to figure out what it is!

MoiraiUse the [arrow] or [WASD] keys to navigate the 3D world of Moirai, tapping the [spacebar] to talk or interact with objects. If you want to get fancy, use [Q] and [E] to strafe. Speak to a few of the townsfolk before heading to the cave, then grab your gear and start exploring. After a few moments you'll encounter someone in the tunnels, and decide their fate based on the questions you ask them. Simple, right? Yet on your way out, after encountering something unexpected, you'll be intercepted and have to do something unexpected, and finding out what all this has to do with everything else is part of Moirai's unique charm. After, you enter your name and e-mail address so you can see the results of your little surprise. This twist at the end is the only trick Moirai has up its sleeve, but for a free download and a few minutes of playtime, you'll be surprised how many times you want to go back to it.

Wow. Huh. Okay.

It's really hard to comment on this without giving any clue as to the gimmick.

In fact this game feature many secrets, tell me if you find more.

So far I found about killing sheep and the many dialogs it changes, the room with, for real, a line for each previous players and the list of the 6 previous players, that if you let pass the farmer and don't kill the woman you have blood anyway.

Tried some things just in case but it seems that the door locked stay locked and the "shiny" thing in the hole can't be reached, if someone found something about it please tell.

Anybody else getting the error "Cannot Connect to Database. Game requires an internet connection to play."?

Reply

It happened for me playing without internet. If you have internet, your firewall must be blocking the game.

Reply

I have an internet connection & specifically went into the firewall & gave the executable permission.

The developer got back to me. The firewall on my router wasn't letting me through.

Potential technical difficulty

I'm not getting the email about my results. Has anyone else had this problem?

No troy

I received an email, like 2 hours after though, depending on the time you have no one or a lot of people playing.

This is a great advertisement for the sort of things that video games can do in a way which no other medium can.
