Arendel Most of us know not to explore shady abandoned asylums. Well... everyone except you, apparently. Trapped inside the Arendel Asylum, you'll need to search for items, solve puzzles, and gather orbs to escape in this ambitious but rough-around-the-edges game from Selfdefiant.

Must Escape: The Clock Tower Self-Defiant serves up a short and simple but satisfying escape challenge that begins with you getting lost while exploring a clock tower, and ends with you explaining to me how you managed to get lost in a clock tower where the only way to go is straight up or down.

Must Escape the Pet Shop Selfdefiant presents a short and sweet room escape featuring cute critters and simple, direct logic. Use the various clues, inventory items, and your smarts to solve the puzzles sprinkled around each room. The ease and simplicity of the gameplay as well as the cartoony graphics makes Must Escape the Pet Shop fun and accessible for escapers of all ages.

Camp Pine Need a new merit badge to add to your collection? An alien has crash landed at Camp Pine, where your scout troop is on camp. Help the alien repair his ship and get home in this cute point-and-click adventure from Selfdefiant. It's a fun, coffee break sized distraction without the frustrations of illogical puzzles or hard to find items

Spooky Night Escape A point-and-click adventure disguised as an escape, Spooky Night Escape evokes the look and feel of the Halloween season with its nighttime setting, pale moon, and eerie trees. You have run out of gas somewhere on a dark, deserted road and must search the area, find some clues, solve some puzzles, and get the heck away before the inhabitants of the ominous nearby shack return. Don't go into Spooky Night Escape expecting ghosts, ghouls, or jump-scares, because there's none of those to be found. The game merely evokes the feel of the season with its look and unearthly music clip.

Mystic Asylum Spooky rather than scary, Mystic Asylum is an escape game of chills rather than frights. No jump scares here, just a lot of spooky atmosphere enlivened by the standard conventions of a room escape. Stunning to look at and fun to play, Mystic Asylum is also a nice, creepy escape slap dab in the middle of the holiday season, something to cut the treacle and a relief from all of the frantic shopping.

Escape from the 13th Floor Escape from the 13th floor is a fun, involving room escape (or a building escape in this case), and is an amusing way to waste a few minutes, unless of course you suffer from triskaidekaphobia. Lots of fun to be had in a building made spookier by the soundtrack than by the actual inhabitants. The game is enjoyable, but it almost feels like you're just getting going when you find the way out.

Absence Absence is creepy, but not scary. Nothing is going to jump out at you, there's nothing in the rooms apart from lots of trash. Fire it up while taking a few minutes away from other tasks, and just enjoy the spooky atmosphere without worrying you'll have a heart attack. After all, Halloween is just around the coroner.

Kidnapped by Aliens In Kidnapped by Aliens, previously unsung developer Selfdefiant tells the story of a human protagonist who has been kidnapped, and awaits who-knows-what from his captors. By the use of a little ingenuity, our hero manages to escape his cell and explore more areas of the UFO that contains him, with the ultimate goal of returning to Earth... perhaps. The surreal but perfect background sound and puzzles that make sense without being too obvious turn this game into an enjoyable experience.
