Abyss: The Wraiths of EdenExploring a ravaged underwater utopia sounds like a great idea, right? No? But, think of all the interesting structures, the possessions that were once owned by people slowly rusting away, the great chance of seeing a shark and getting a great picture! Oh, and there are some sinister hooded figures that seem to enjoy causing havoc and destruction and may possibly have intentions to kill you, but that's such a small nuisance. I'm sure you wouldn't even notice it! For the daring protagonist in Abyss: The Wraiths of Eden, the new hidden object puzzle adventure horror game from Artifex Mundi, it's probably a bigger nuisance than she anticipated.

BadlandPah. Tossed out with the rest of the garbage. The nerve! At least you have your freedom, though once you see what's ahead in this surreal world of shadows and machines you might want to go back to the junkyard. Badland is a one-touch action game from Frogmind that's sort of a cross between an endless flying game and a platformer. It tells a charming story without using a single word, expressing a range of emotions using little more than clever level design and plenty of beautiful, beautiful artwork.

Escape the OfficeGood news, clockwatchers! The sun is setting and it's time to go home. The problem? Your ride, the elevator, isn't working. So poke around the office, find clues and helpful objects, and drag them into action in this quick, fun escape from Afro-Ninja. Endless EscapeEndless Escape is a puzzle-oriented mobile game from Mobest Media. It follows the simple but supremely addictive layout made popular by games like 100 Lights and DOOORS, utilizing the room escape formula at its core but confining things to a single space of puzzles presented one after another. Instead of roaming around looking under rugs for four digit keypad combinations, your mission is as simple as finding a key, unlocking a door, then proceeding to the next stage. The methods you'll employ to find that key, however, are delightfully unusual!

Year WalkYear Walk, the latest mobile release from Simogo, is almost the exact opposite of the team's previous release Beat Sneak Bandit. It's a great credit to the studio, however, that such different games can be pulled off with equally impressive results. Structured like a minimalist point-and-click puzzle game, Year Walk weaves together various pieces of Scandinavian folklore to set an atmosphere of cold intrigue and foreboding mystery. It's a beautiful and very meaningful game, and quite the haunting experience if you sit down and let yourself get drawn into the story.

Nano KingdomsWell, would you look at that, another kingdom is in peril and you must defeat the king's power hungry son before it is too late. Nano Kingdoms puts you in charge of His Majesty's forces as you carve a path towards his evil son. Easy-to-figure out click controls make this realtime strategy defense game a nice choice for first time RTS players. The sounds are well-made, the art is wonderfully cartoonish, and the difficulty will leave you satisfied with your micro-managing skills.

Layton Brothers: Mystery RoomLayton Brothers: Mystery Room is a crime solving mystery game from Level-5, the team behind the well-known Professor Layton series on Nintendo DS. Fix My CarIn FireRabbit's unique blend of a hidden object search with an escape-the-room game, you begin with a task list in hand, a garage full of parts and tools, and a classic American muscle car in need of some loving attention. Project AlnilamGet the green shapes to the goal. Avoid the red shapes. Sounds pretty simple, right? But there's a hitch! Star Wars: Tiny Death StarStar Wars: Tiny Death Star is what happens when LucasArts and NimbleBit conspire to steal all of your time. A casual simulation game at its core, Tiny Death Star is essentially a Star Wars-themed Tiny Tower with a handful of new features and some tweaks to the basic gameplay. Despite having an overzealous in-app purchasing system (don't panic when you see the prices in there), it still manages to hold onto that "just one more minute" style of gameplay that will occupy your brain even when you're not playing the game.

PetalsThe simple things in life are often the best, and Green-Eyed Games has managed to turn a simple sliding-block puzzle into a game about flowers, just by arranging blocks the right way. The rules of Petals are as simple as the idea behind it: click to combine like-colored tiles in a grid, but avoid combining tiles of different colors. IQ MissionThe best mobile games are the ones that make us feel smart, are easy to play in short bursts of time, and look better than a Renaissance painting. IQ Mission from Yummy Factory is one such game, taking the very recognizable set-up of a brain training game and turning it into a spy-based series of missions around the world. On a quest for pieces of a map, you'll travel from Rapa Nui to London to Monte Carlo, solving a series of themed logic games with difficulty levels ranging from "no duh" to "...HELP!!!".

Pakkuman's DefenseYou've got a few minutes before you have to be at work. That means it's time for a game! But what to play, Pac-Man or a tower defense game? How about both? From Tametick, the creator of Cardinal Quest, comes Pakkuman's Defense, a surprisingly superb melding of the classic arcade game Pac-Man and a modern tower defense game. There are ghosts. There are dots to eat. There are towers to place. And yes, you're going to have a blast with this unusual hybrid!

CavesweeperIt advertises itself as a mix between Minesweeper and a roguelike dungeon crawler, but Quikding's Cavesweeper isn't quite either... it's something all its own. In it, you're tasked with exploring a single, linear cave, equipping weapons and armor you find within, collecting gold to spend on various goodies, completing various quests, and slaying all sorts of monsters.

Clowns in the FaceWhich sounds worse: tennis or clowns? Ha, trick question! They're both equally creepy in their own way! 10tons totally gets that, which is why the team that brought us the physics puzzle game Tennis in the Face has released the follow-up Clowns in the Face. Now, instead of just smacking things in the face with tennis balls, you're smacking clowns in the face with tennis balls. Neat!

Adventure Bar StorySiela's family restaurant is having trouble staying afloat, and her sister is considering selling the whole thing to someone else. With no choice but to seize management herself in a last-ditch effort to turn the business into a success, Siela and her friends must cook and serve food made using ingredients they hunt for in the wild in this simple but addictive blend of RPG and simulation for iOS and Android.

Lost YetiYou play a young yeti who has wondered off in search of tasty treats in this interesting puzzle game. Slide blocks along a row or column to clear a path to the exit, while avoiding enemies and other pitfalls. Collect popsicles along the way for an extra challenge.

Shadow Snake 3And if 2013 is the Year of the Snake, well, then there's absolutely no reason why it can't be the year of the Shadow Snake 3, the new arcade game from Play Panic, also as a free download for iOS and Android. Snake gameplay is as familiar as it is difficult to mess up, but this is a very soothing and fun interpretation.

Dismantlement SUSHIAt first, all you have is a screwdriver. Tap away to remove the first screw and you're presented with a delicious sushi dinner which innocently hides another series of puzzles. Tapping and tilting your mobile device, find clues and decipher codes until your true dismantlement mission is revealed.

AdriftAdrift is a stylish logic puzzle game from Tack Mobile. It follows the gameplay outline of classic browser games such as Hyper Frame and 3D Logic II, eliminating the rotating cube in favor of a fixed isometric viewpoint, simple touch controls, and a sweet-as-candy visual presentation. Don't think that just because you only have three sides of a cube to worry about that things are going to be any easier to solve, however!

Escape EternityPsionic Games is back with another horror-themed point-and-click adventure, and this one's rendered in full atmospheric 3D with Unity! You find yourself locked within a grim tomb, a giant stone door barring your only exit. Luckily for you, some helpful soul has left you several notes to help you escape! 100 Doors of RevengeWith a title that practically demands a dramatic pause before the final word, 100 Doors of Revenge is a new single-screen room escape game from Gipnetix Games, creator of 100 Doors 2013 and 100 Escapers. Once again, you find yourself faced with a series of locked doors, and the only logical course of action is to start solving your way forward!

You Are Still a BoxMonths after discovering You Are a Box, Games Northwest is happy to report that You Are Still a Box. And you've got some work to do. The remarkably brain cell deficient Nabbles need to get to the exit, but since their only ability is walking and turning around when they hit a wall, you've got to help them avoid stepping into traps. As a box, you're just the moderately-animate object to do it, though you're going to need a little help along the way.
