Pity the poor dude who is in charge of Middleshire, one of the areas of the kingdom we first saw in Royal Envoy. First, he's late to the meeting with the king, then all he can report is bad, bad news about the region. The King is not happy about any of this, so he once again appoints someone (as in you, the player) to go and get this poor place redeveloped so that the folks will be happy in Royal Envoy 2, the latest time management amusement from Playrix Entertainment.
It's always great when Japanese developer, Yoshio Ishii, gets experimental, and this RPG is certainly that. It looks like an Excel Spreadsheet, and plays like a computer hacking scene from a 1980s action movie. Abstract, but very addictive, Parameters won't be for everyone, but those looking for something a little different should find it quite compelling.
Nature is a cruel mistress in this little gem from Ludum Dare 23. Improve tiles, gather resources, and build cities and shrines to stabilize your world against the next eco disaster. To beat the game you will need to build a level 4 shrine and a level 3 city. Easier said than done, as each disaster will destroy or rearrange tiles, and erase whatever you've built there.

While racing the clock, type a word that has the designated prefix or suffix, or for extra height, both. The faster you type, the higher you'll build. Extra points can be scored for typing the letters that appear in Bonus Bubbles, or doing combos of words with same prefix/suffix. Proke is a light kind of game, but it's very addictive.

You know what are always enjoyable? RC Tanks, especially ones that you can use to fire things at your least-favorite sibling. It took Emitter Critter to realize how this universal archetype of fun might translate well to flash form, and the result is the new top-down shooter, Awesome Tanks. Some aspects feel a little rushed: particularly noticeable is how your CPU allies have the kind of AI that flits back and forth between "useless" and "suicidal". Overall, though, it makes for a fun love letter to old-school dungeon crawlers and should satisfy anyone looking for a little fantasy action during their coffee break
Fun, frantic, and addictive, Mushroom Madness 3 is a kicking tower defense game and a great way to vent all of your inner pent up rage and frustration on a wide variety of animals, insects, and birds. Mushroom Madness 3 has added new levels, new scenarios, and best of all many new weapons and upgrades to the mix, including a fantastic "auto-click" feature that saves the gamers' mouse finger from the muscle cramps that ensue when rapidly clicking to annihilate all of the cute and cuddly yet annoying fauna of the forest.

You may know a saying about laying down with dogs and getting up with fleas. Well, adventurers have their own saying: "Get into a fight with a demon, die or become horribly cursed." The hero of this dungeon crawler clearly didn't get that memo, and thus he's forced to journey into the Cursed Dungeon in search of a cure. The game focuses purely on its battle system, stripping away extraneous distractions like equipment management, and thus succeeds in serving up simple battling fun that RPG fans will find addictive.
FrozenFire and Jon Sandness are back with a spookified expansion pack to their popular Symphonic Tower Defense. Once again it is time for the master conductor to dust the cobwebs from his baton and take a stand against the awesome power of awesome music in Symphonic Tower Defense Halloween. While the soundtrack is a tad more scary and the aesthetics a bit more orangey, gameplay pretty much the same as the previous installment. That's not a bad thing: those who liked the original will love to have more of it, and those new to the series will find this a perfect place to jump on.

Sapient Games has created a whole world revolving around this character in their text-based RPG, The Bard's Journey. Using your mouse, choose the options below the text to either take an action in that area or to move on to the next area (which can also be done with the compass). You can compose your own music to play in battle, but balance is the key in order to get the set of bonuses you desire. Even without the music writing, this RPG is fun and the story is interesting, so feel free to pack up your lute and use the default songs for a quick dive into a melodic, mystical world.
Warlight is a feature-rich strategy game along the lines of Risk, Galcon, or Dice Wars. It features single player modes that include user-made maps (such as Mr. T!) and a host of interesting gameplay additions such as cards and fog of war. Warlight is a fabulous gaming experience for fans of the traditional game of Risk and for those who are yet to experience strategic gameplay and the thrill of world domination.
A simulation, adventure game that is an experiment to better learn how to program, but an entertaining one. Create and manage a fantasy city full of fantasy creatures, then recruit and train them to send them into fantasy dungeons and earn you fantasy treasure. There's no save, unfortunately, and the lack of a tutorial may be a bit daunting, but a true leader doesn't need a rule book and counts every painful death of their loyal minions as a learning experience! (Lesson learned: Buy more minions, fewer health insurance policies.)
Sarah Northway's incredibly popular and addictive zombie survival game of strategy and simulation gets a big update in this sequel that adds more skills, more items, and a lot of other tricks and tweaks. Defend one of the sole bastions of humanity left in a sprawling city and slowly work to reclaim the rest from the zombie horde, recruiting survivors, scavenging for supplies, and dealing with hazards like raiders, zombie attacks, and even dissension in your own ranks.
As the Baroness Milena, you command the last of the troops of the kingdom of Emaeron, which has fallen to the forces of a demon horde in this turn-based strategy, tower defense mix, Demonrift TD. Restore the empire and send the enemy back to whatever depths from which they came.

It's a great introduction to the series with an easy to pick up interface and a progression of levels which allow you to figure out the finer points before it increases in difficulty. Hey, and if you find yourself intrigued enough after 12 levels, you can always shell out the dough for the full game.

The controls of Crystal Story should be familiar to regular players of RPGs, where your mouse is used to navigate the various menus. Crystal Story isn't innovative, it's just a good RPG with anime style graphics, epic battle music and a story to put a smile on your face.
This fast-paced and addictingly enjoyable new game from Youda Games is sure to provide many hours of fun. Youda Fisherman succeeds in combining a variety of popular time management and simulation elements in a way that makes sense while adding a fresh spin on the genre. I'd like to make fun of the kid in this real-time strategy defense game, but considering I was actually able to give myself nightmares just recently by thinking of the trailer for Insidious before I go to bed, I guess I can't throw stones. Use your imagination and arsenal of toys to defend your young tot against waves of incoming bad dreams in a fashion that will probably seem very familiar, but will appeal to tower defense fans just the same.
A real-time defense strategy game in which you're in charge of a group of aliens invading Earth and destroying major cities. Choose units, make them evolve, and send them into battle. You should already know by now that ET was a lie and aliens only love you for your big, round head; the perfect size and shape to crack open and lay their glistening eggs inside. You'll be playing for their team as you man an alien invasion of planet Earth and send hordes of horrifying beasties to do your dirty work.
The zombies need more corpses for their upcoming undead apocalypse, but the ghosts aren't having any of it, since those are their bodies, even if they have been dead and buried for years. Okay, to be honest, the undead monsters in this turn-based strategy board game are more interest in wiping out each other than they are you. But that doesn't mean you shouldn't still be on your guard! CONSTANT VIGILANCE as my favourite professor used to say.

A fine financial simulation advergame from Barclays, BBH London and B-Reel that hopes to introduce teens to the world of financial literacy.

Well now it's your turn to make them pay (and then some) in Cellar Door Games' quirky, addictive strategy title that puts you on the other side of things in a typical tower defense game.
The second chapter in the Arkandian Legends series, Revenant provides all the enjoyment and adventure of its predecessor plus more. There are endless possibilities for tailoring this RPG adventure to your playing style, including three races of hero: Arkandian, Necretian and even a Demon/Ascended once you've completed the previous chapter. Finding Wizard Tola's House to catch him dabbling in necromancy or rallying your defenses against an army of orcs on the battlefield are just a tiny part of the vast fun in Revenant. Tower Defense games have cast you in many different roles as protector. Symphonic Tower Defense, however, is the first time that a band conductor has been tasked with guarding against nigh-unstoppable attack. I suppose it's justified though, as this time it's music itself that's out of control. And should it escape, terrible unspecified things will happen to us all. Get ready to take some notes and make your enemies treble with bass fear, as you orchestrate the sharpest defense possible! While a few hopefully-soon-to-be-fixed programming glitches make it a little discordant, overall Symphonic Tower Defense has a nice beat that's easy to dance to.
The Papa's Series of time management simulation games goes ice cold in this sweet treat of an installment. Anyone who has ever heard the siren lure of the build-your-own-sundae bar at restaurants across the land knows the appeal of crafting creamy masterpieces, and Papa's will definitely fill that fantasy if you've got steady hands and an eye for ice-cream perfection. This time you're searching for "Crazy Dust" antidote, which is something I would personally love to get my hands on... what? No, not for me! Geez. Rude. While not perhaps the best showing the series has to offer, it still brings to the table all the strategic combat you love, and all the hawt towel fashions you need.
Sort of a reverse tower defense game where you play the vengeful Cat God whose followers have turned to the Sun King, and you're trying to stop the Sun King's temple from being built by killing everyone working on it with various powers... which as everyone knows is the quickest way to win back the hearts and minds of your people. Using powers earns experience, which levels them up and makes them stronger.
The Dude abides in this zombie defense shooter... or a Dude, anyway. When your car gets into a rather spectacular accident on a lonely country road, it's up to you do repair it while simultaneously fending off the waves of flesh-eating monsters headed your way. A miserly checkpoint system and lack of variety hold it back somewhat, but ultimately it's got a winning style and charm that make it worth checking out. Plus, zombie bunnies!

Now that you've defeated that pungeon master, the five-man band is descending into a cave with an even greater threat: humidity. Turns out putting a cave of ice and a cave of fire next to each other isn't that great of an idea. The good thing about Flagstaff: Chapter Three is that it's more of the same, and since the previous games were fun, light-hearted time wasters well received by many in the JIG community as well as myself, more of the same can't go too wrong.

While it's fairly similar to the original, particularly because a lot of the art assets are recycled, Book of Dead Names helps update the Necronomicon formula and add a lot of much-needed depth. The difficulty might turn some players off, especially since as a card game it's possible to lose matches by simply not getting the cards you need, but it's still worth a look for card game and Lovecraft fans alike. Just try not to unleash any dark powers. It's a pain to clean up after that kind of thing.
In Bug Tunnel Defense, bugs are in fact our deadly enemies after an atomic war has laid waste to the rest of civilization, and they're coming for what is left of humanity. So, not much different from the present day, really, minus the radiation and the end of civilization. With 5 levels of tutorials and 40 levels of gameplay, Bug Tunnel Defense is short but entertaining. If you enjoy tower defense games, then try out Bug Tunnel Defense with its fun new twist on an old classic. And for heaven's sake, get those darn bugs before they wipe us all out.

The newest in the growing series of restaurant sims puts you in the managing shoes of a taco joint. Take customer's orders, grill up the right kind of meat, stuff the tacos, add the toppings one by one, and present each order to the customer for their evaluation. Make neater tacos, rake in bigger tips, and outfit your restaurant with the best equipment available as you work your way to a taco-making master!
Being an avid reader of certain articles over at Cracked, I've come to learn that the animal kingdom, while wonderful and vast, is also horrifying and disgusting. Ducks are no exception. Thankfully, this little simulation is merely entertaining and weird, despite featuring some potentially freaking genetically modified duck hybrids. (Ewww.) Once again you're training a hapless duckling up to compete against other ducks by managing its stats and playing a bunch of little minigames. The ducks at Universal Studios aren't quite as rigorously trained, although they are quite skilled in the art of "begging for Cinnabons" and "being loud and smelly".

Kevin Glass' retro roguelike is currently in continued development, but don't be afraid to dip your toes into this top-notch casual experience designed to be picked up and played at any time by anyone. Sharped your sword, fletch your arrows, and... uh... spark your fireballs? There's adventure to be had!
Take up the mantle of Gem Keeper and protect your glittery hoard from all comers in this official level pack from tower defense maestros Iriysoft. Make strategic use of three different terrains and towers, upgrading your offensive capabilities to stand firm against hordes of powerful enemies, each with their own unique abilities. Just remember, when the going get tough, the tough rain down a fiery hail of massive meteorites.
Flagstaff remains more about the silly story and casual pace than about seriously challenging veteran RPG players, but the design is cute and distinctive, the heroes all have interesting and balanced powers, and the pace is perfect for a light bit of dungeon crawling. Chapter Two builds on the promise of Chapter One, and tantalizes for the next installment of the Flagstaff series.
Fans of the original Castaway will find much they like from the first game, plus many improvements. Castaway 2 isn't the deepest RPG around, but it's perfect for casual fans of the genre. The Isle of the Titans has a lot to do and a lot to see, and will keep casual RPG players well occupied. Just don't let it suck you in too much, or you might find that you suffer some light amnesia of your own.
