Weekday EscapeIt's Wednesday and week's dose of fun is here, the new Weekday Escape has arrived!

Spring is far ahead, spring cleanup too, but Detarame Factory locked you in extremely dirty room and you have to deal with it, willingly or not. Oh well. Luckily, cleaning virtual room is much easier than the real one, and you have more rooms to tidy up! Amajeto's bedroom is pleasant, or precisely, would be if there weren't pesky green creatures with red eyes flying around and disturbing. You must do something about them otherwise you won't fall asleep. With Funkyland you get to luxury Beauty Salon and it's a unique chance to see such a place - normally they won't let you in unless you're movie star!

Have a good time and enjoy!

Weekday EscapeHello loyal, long-time users and readers of JiG, (Yes I like to begin my posts with the same good words!)

Since my last post 'We need you!', 4 months have passed.

We heard you - if you look at our recent reviews, we're covering more indie games and will continue.

We want to see JiG more dynamic in 2018 with more reviews!

If you like games and if you think you have the skills to write about them, why not join the team?

As you know, our funds do not allow us to pay the reviewers, but you can write one or two reviews per week (or fewer if you don't have time).

If you are interested please send an email to: [email protected]

In your email, please mention categories of games you would be able to review. (for example: indie games, Steam games, mobile games, PC/Mac games only, etc.).

Obviously, all our old reviewers are still welcome to join again and to write whenever they can.

Thanks in advance.

ExtractionYou've woken up in some strange places before, but this time your surroundings are something new. Are you trapped in a room, or an underground bunker? Or perhaps on a spaceship of some kind? Perhaps there might be someone else to help you uncover your whereabouts, if you know where to look. It appears there are more rooms hidden away, but they're locked behind some sort of key card access. And checking your pockets, it seems that yours may have picked a particularly bad time to go missing in action...

Apple WormDo you remember the story of the very hungry caterpillar, who was so hungry he was set on devouring every food-related object in his path? Although the protagonist this time isn't exactly set to transform into a beautiful butterfly at the end, this worm needs your help to eat, eat, eat, and grow in length. But this word of gluttony also has hazards such as spikes, gravity, and a snake-like twist of accidentally eating your own tail! Can you navigate the worm successfully through all of the levels?

1998Welcome to the world of Audrey Bhatt, entering her final year of high school in her small, sleepy hometown. For most of her life she's felt only bitterness and contempt for others, and she's finally started to realize it's been dragging down her childhood the entire time. Associating with other people feels useless to her, and she avoids interaction with nearly everyone, having no real friends, much to the despair of her mother. But when someone new moves in, some of her cynicism starts to melt away as she realizes he may not be so bad. Will this be a start of a friendship, or will her fears and habits destroy any chance at that?

Klepto - Space ThiefA kleptomaniac, as those of you in the field of letters may know, is someone obsessed with collecting and hoarding things. The aptly named Klepto is character in our focus, preparing himself to steal...something. The developer and game don't provide much backstory, so the natural assumption is that Klepto the pig was bitten as a piglet by a radioactive spider possessing artificial intelligence. This gave him the ability to be sentient along with an appendage enabling tasks like grappling and gliding like a propeller. What's that you say? Don't believe me? I invite you to come up with a better theory!

Weekday EscapeHow about your New Year's resolution? Everyday in a gym/pool, right? You should get some rest, too. The new Weekday Escape is here!

Tototo Room locks you in their room which haven't changed much from your last visit. Apart from minor changes, things are on their places and all the blobs grey again. After you turn them orange and happy you go to Neat Escape's ramen shop for a snack and look! They are offering live escape experience - which true escapist would resist? And then are coming two short games from promising newcomers, SBK Man and Hild Soft!

Have a good time and enjoy!

2000: 1: A Space FelonyYou clicked on this review here on JayIsGames to learn more about a game called 2000: 1: A Space Felony. You were intrigued by the title and the genre, mixing both detective and science fiction. You scan the page, wondering what kind of adventure awaits you. After reading this review, you scroll down to check it out further...

Weekday EscapeAnother week is over and another Weekday Escape is here. Three cute games are waiting for you!

You start with "not so simple as it seems" game by Flatsan followed by "longer, and more complicated than it seems" game by Yonashi. Finally comes time for some rest in kids room, but Neat Escape doesn't let you play there; locks you inside and puzzles you have to solve are definitely not childish, even though you use toys!

Have a good time and enjoy!

UnalignedIf a picture can be worth a thousand words, the graphics and charm highlighted in Unaligned may well be worth a million. Built with a custom graphics engine, a team for the Videogame Creation Master of the Barcelona School of Management put together a thrilling adventure where action carries the day more than dialogue. Your faithful companion by your side, you leap through vividly colored areas and solve puzzles, each becoming more intricate than the last and building on previous mechanics. In the end your guide is to escape the mysterious temple in which you wake, with no particular rhyme or reason other than being trapped... "again."

The Lost Strawberry PoofyThere's moment when you just... crave something. It can be a drink, it can be a fruit. In this particular case you're after strawberries, which is not a very odd request. It is when you need to platform yourself through different kinds of levels. It get even harder when the background visuals start to interfere more and more with the actual game assets.

Knights of GaiaThe world of Gaia is certainly a strange one, but also one where there are few dull moments. The story begins introducing us to Jhet, a lonely farmer who is but a boy, yet has inherited the massive responsibility of his father's farm after his father's death. We're not given much information about the untimely nature of these circumstances, but instead jump straight in to try and help Jhet find his footing in a world where he has big shoes to fill.

Weekday EscapeThe new Weekday Escape is here to brighten year 2018 from its start!

Oh, did I forget to mention that you're also some kind of flying creature that lives in a flying house that's filled with lethal spikes and such? Yes, it's not easy to go outside as this little metroidvania game proves.

Tsure Game 10Welcome back in Lutaru's world and prepare for good escape adventure!

From excellent, more or less standard escape Tsure Game 7 via Tsure Game 8 (WE N°152) and Tsure Game 9 (WE N°162), with growing feeling of alienness, we get to a very Myst like world to explore ruins of lost civilisation! Alien or not, luckily for us these ancient builders knew achievements of mankind like Roman and Arabic numerals and used them so we players are not completely lost.

PalettaOnce upon a time in a land not so far away, there was a King who wore a crown of many different colors, who ruled over the land and its people. The King was benevolent, prosperity abounded, and everyone loved him. But one day someone got a little too jealous for their own good of his crown, an artifact passed down to him by the gods and only befit for one true ruler of the people. A would-be thief intended to steal the crown and use its powers for their own nefarious purposes. Unfortunately, the robber-to-be dropped it in the ensuing chaos and it shattered into a number of pieces that become scattered across the kingdom, ultimately coming into possession by different people. Without its magical powers, the King withered away, along with the color and joy of the land. The princess fled after his death, leaving the kingdom in shambles and no leader. The shards were bartered and grabbed by different humans, harnessed individually for their still great power, but with far less benevolence than the previous wielder of the crown. This leaves one question...who will save these dying lands now?
