Laboratory (001)
  • On the seat of the fancy chair in the attic.
  • In the bottom-right corner of the screen on the stairwell between the attic and the lab.
  • Behind the trashcan on the first floor of the lab.
  • On the same floor as the trashcan, in the room to the right of the stairs, attached a charged coil to the machine and turn the bottom screw.
  • Behind the fallen chair in the room with stairs leading up on the bottom floor of the lab.
  • Behind some pipes on the left in the bathroom.
  • Behind the yellow pipe in the room with the gas burner (where you made AcidiOxide).
  • (Cube 1) - Raise the cube in the room to the left of the portal machine.

  • In the dog's eye on the bottom floor.

  • On the ground behind the pipe in the portal room.
  • Found in the same compartment as the wires you had to cut (very obvious).
  • On the ground behind the lamppost in the top room where you put the turbine.
  • (Cube 3) - Raise the cube in the same room with the compartment where you had to cut wires.

Brick Room (551) - found by reading notes
  • On the floor in the bottom right corner in the room with the portal machine.

Second Tomb Trap (043) - found by looking at the wall in Tomb Trap
  • In the corner in the leftmost room.
  • (Cube 4) - Raise the cube in the leftmost room.

The Lucky Room (728) - found by reading the last note
  • In the "speaker" in the top left corner of the room with the portal machine.

The End (596) - found by completing the statue
  • In the corner of the portal room.

After collecting all 21 secrets, place them in the machine in the room to the right of the portal room in The Lucky Room.

You start off on the rooftops of a house. You can follow the on-screen instructions for the first part. I will restate what they ask you to do...

LABORATORY (001)

  • The Rooftop
    1. Go Right and on the window ledge, pick up the Hammer.
    2. Go Left twice.
    3. Go Down the ladder.
    4. Go Right and use the Hammer on the door lock and click the door open.
    5. Go inside.
  • The Attic
    1. Go Down and click on the white jacket
    2. Take the Naphthalene (white balls).
    3. Click out of the coat
    4. Go Right and take the green Rubbertube from the ceiling in-between the rafters.
    5. Go Right and take the Chimneybrush from beside the grey box.
    6. Take Secret 1 from the chair cushion.
    7. Go Left twice
    8. Go up the ladder and out onto the roof.
    9. Go Left and use the Chimneybrush on the chimney.
    10. Go right, into the window and down the ladder.

I got to the lighthouse dugouts or whatever but now I am stuck. I have whacked the padlock, the loop on the padlock, the keyhole, and the place on the door it locks to but I can't get it open.

Here's how to get the turbine:

You get water by using the test tube that you left be the burner. Then you justuse it like you used the beaker. You open thepipe (the one with the turbine) by hitting it 4 times. But first you must go to the second 'Red room' ( 551). Then go to the left and press the button you see dangling from the ceiling. This stops the water flow as well as the turbine's spinning. Now you can open the pipe and get the turbine.

Hey agian! I don't know about you all but I've been hunting EVERYWHERE for a site that tells you where the secrets are w/o all the other junk. I couldn't find it so I thought I'd just do the bet I could on my own.

- At the lab in the attic by the chimney there is a chair. It is on the cushion.
- Go down a floor from the attic. It is in the bottom right corner.
-Go down another floor and go left. You will see a green computer. Look just to the left of the trash can.
- Go down 2 more floors. It is under the fallen chair.
- Go into the bathroom (far left of the same floor) It is just left of the pipes to the left.
In the 'Ancient Section' ( 104)
- Go all the way down until you see a dog statue. The secret is it's eye.
- Go up on the wooden ladder. You will see a stone horse. Under it is a fragile-looking square of stone. Break it with you hammer and the secret is inside
- To the left of the switch-panel area (you will see the + panel) there is a pile of rocks. It is hidden in the rocks.
At the 'Looping Traps' (690)
- Directly below the chamber you start in ( you must reach it by going over down and over again.) It is on the floor, right next to the right door-post.
At the 'Basement Section' (529)
- Go to the far left of the staring room. It is in the outlet (right below the plug for the coil-charger).
- In the laser room ( bottom center) it is hidden just between the right wire and the laser machine.
In the 'Lighthouse Digouts' (462)
- Go right. You will see a pipe. It is just a little to the right of it on the ground.
- If you have raised all of the cubes ( done by ringing the bells) a panel will be open. It is just inside

where do i put the 21/21 secrets?

on the walkthrough it says that there is a secret and a screwdriver by a yellow pipe. there is nothing there. ive tried going up to where you get the purple vial from the tester stand but you cant see the yellow pipe and it wont let me go right.

I love the Submachine series so, so, so much. The artwork is amazing, the music is perfect (and so chilling!). I love the effort put into every scene. What a great way to use up an hour or so. :D

Hey, great game. Just what are the walkthrough after you find your way to 728? I have found 22 secrets but I still have the hammer, lighter , charged coil, knife, and the screwdriver left after I get enter the secrets in and the gate lifts up. What's the next steps. I have also gone back through all of the sections/rooms and cant' seem to find the conection of the the next steps to continue solving the game??

To get the right key for the door: go to the right, to the furthest room....On the far right of the room, on the floor, there is a sort of gray-looking bottle brush with a little ring attached. in the tomb trap, I enter coordinates I find on the wall, and flashplayer goes half-frozen, and I can't complete the game.
Very annoying.

ok im not joking but i found the 22 scerets but out of no where i find another 10!!!! i dont know if its a glitch or something ok i found the key to the door on the roof of the lab where you find the hammer!!!!! dont ask me how oh and there is a way to get passed the bars on the lab level next to the portal type this into the portal:

Finding the 10 secrets out of nowhere was a glitch because it did not happen on my computer. Plus the numbers that you gave me did NOT open the gates near the portal
(check them because I think you made an error).

and getting the 21st secret would put me out and I will miss the views of the cameras as i read later in the hints given by previous players. If only I had known ... I am back on the first screen to play again...ALAS!! And now I am thinking of playing it all over again to view that which couldn't I MUST SAY SUBMACHINE games are great only submachine 3 was beyond my league but rest all I have played and won so I am intelligent too....loved it man loved them all !!! kudos to the creator! keep it up and bring out 5 soon. WOOHOO!!! beat with 22/21 secrets!! 22! here's how:

when you get to the ending room, go right. secret(21) is in the bottom right corner of the room. enter 728 into the portal. press the grey button to teleport to the Lucky Room. secret(22) is in the top left corner of the room. go right, and put all 22/21 secrets into the machine. if you put less then 22 secrets into the machine, the metal bars won't go up. go to the right if they DO lift up.there are 4 rooms.each one has a camera in it. if you look through any one of these cameras, there will be a secret extra.when you want to leave the Lucky Room, go all the way to the left (you should be at the portal). enter 596 into the portal and press the grey button. you will be back in the ending room.go left twice.click the lever. you will be back at the main menu. YOU WIN!!!!!!!! =D

first get all the stuff you need to get to the portal in the lab(with the CD).Now type 595 into the portal.Click the note in the room,click it again and go to the room to the left,then click button.Now start a new game and WHAT?????You start out with the CD.If you like, do this over and over again until you get a gazilion CDs.Enjoy the glitch!

Where do I find the coil you need at the basement?

You find the coil in the ancient section above the portal.To get the brick ladder, you need to make the button appear at the room with the dog statue(all the way at the bottom).To do that,you must find the A,B,C and D tiles and place them in the slot.

I loved this game. This one was truly a challenge. I needed walk throughs more than I'd like to admit. Usually, I only get stuck once but this time I was stuck practically THE ENTIRE GAME.

I can't get the soap and stuff in the beaker

I just finished Submachine 4. Woooow! I played them all, I was a little angry that the 3 was made that way, but after I finished it, I realized that I like it very much!
Perhaps some of you are not as delighted as I am, but let me explain: my first escape game was The Bar (2-3 months ago), I got hooked immediately. These games are awesome!
And thanks to all brave and smart people for posting comments! I would never get through the last Submachine without them.

I simply love the submachine series (probably all the people who have commented here like it too), but this one was a surprise. When I got through the first location (the lab), I thought: "Wow! Now that was easy!". Twenty minutes of point-and-clicking later, I realized how complex the game was. Congratulations, Skutnik!

ive found 3 tiles already in the ancient section but i cant find the 4th one please help!!

on the top room you'll see a tile with a string. Cut the string with ur knife and voila... heres the missing tile

I got all the secrets without help, but I wasn't so lucky on the main game.

I didn't know I could put the beaker on the grate, or that you could cut the wires behind the panel on the first floor of the ship (I didn't even know they were wires, I just thought they were lines on the wall.) I also didn't realize the shapes on the wall were coordinates. I couldn't figure out you had to put the water on the glowing lump, either. Other than that, I found everything myself. Woo-hoo!

Wow! Just finished it. That was a totally excellent game and very well made ... perhaps the best browser-based P and C adventure I've seen. This was the first of the Submachine series I've played though. Can't wait to check out the others now.

I really love this game but for some reason I'm having trouble placing the orb on the pillar in section 529? Where exactly is is supposed to be placed? I've tried all around the room.

I was wondering, in the tomb trap section, 770 i think, there is a circle, square and triangle on the right side, half way up the wall. Is this significant in any way, or no?

Circle - Has no sides , so its '0'
Square - Has 4 Sides , so its '4'
Triangle - Has 3 Sides , so its '3'
Put them together and it means - 043

I've made it all the way to the acidioxide in the lab without help, but I can't figure out what to do with it! Can someone please help?

The "make your own note" function, and the note from sunshine_bunnygirl7, made me spend half an hour trying to figure out how to leave my own note for others to find, before I realized that wasn't possible. I felt kind of silly. ^_^;

That day so long ago began like any other day. When I got up that morning, I never dreamed that by the next day I'd find myself crossing dimensions searching for the trail left by an enigmatic psychic. That day, I stumbled into what I later learned was called a Submachine, and found a diary written by someone called Murtaugh. A man who described a way of moving between worlds, across dimensions. I was just another person then, one who didn't believe in such nonsense. How naïve of me. I don't know how much time has passed since then. Time and space seem to flow differently inside the Submachine net. But all I know is that after all my travels, I have finally reached location 0,0,0. I know that the answers I've been searching are here, I can feel it. I'm not surprised to find the lab protected by security measures, but after all I've gotten past to get this far, I will not let a few more tricks stop me.

Just a little in-character roleplay I dreamt up. ^_^;

you have to use the screwdriver on the valve on the roof, then put the valve on the other hole on that pipe. Put the beaker on the floor grate, knock off the pipe, then turn the valve.

Just started the submachine series tonight, and i finished the first 4! i need some sleep now, but i will conquer 5 tomorrow!!!

in ancient section. after moving lever three down. i can't go up two times. just once. apparently i have to go up twice for another piece and secret but i can't. is this a glitch or is there a certain place i have to click??? thank you- chevon

up the ladder when you get the purple tube of irontrioxide click on the very right corner of the floor and you will go over to a table with the screwdriver on it
