Okay so I was able to beat it but...
what is the Lantern used for?
You needed the lantern to get into the mine.
I love carmelgames. I hope a walkthrough is coming. maybe abf will help us out :)
Hints
Bank
You might need to use a little physics, with some large fruit and something lying around at the carpenter's place.
Saloon
There's something prickly that this dame might like to eat, but you'll have to feed someone dodgy chilli and save the bank to get the right equipment for the job.
Abandoned Mine
Bulls are a little... ticklish. And it might not be obvious at first, but you ruffle a few feathers by shaking the pole the vulture sits on.
The rest is fairly straightforward, there's just a couple of things that aren't as obvious as others.

I have a walkthrough for you all. :)
1. Speak to man at train station. Grab ad for Chili from the board. Go left to get to map.
2. Head to Carpenter Shop. Speak with Jared. Click the broom and solve the puzzle. Click the board by the stack of logs as well.
3. Head to the Saloon and speak with bartender to get chili.
4. Head to Fruit Shop and use broom on the scorpion. Speak with the man and take a watermelon.
5. Go to Bank. Place board on the barrel then place the watermelon on the board. Click the board to knock out the robber. Speak to the teller to get gold coin.
6. Take gold coin to the General Store. Speak to the shop owner to get gloves.
7. Take gloves to Train Station and use them to get the prickly pear off of the cactus. Feed man at the station the chili. Get the lantern.
8. Go to Saloon and give the lady at the table the prickly pear. Recieve Silver Coin.
9. Take coin to General Store and recieve Pickaxe.
10. Go to Abandoned Mine. Shake the pole with the vulture to get a feather. Use feather to tickle the bull. Get rope. Use rope to go down into the mine.
11. In the mine use the pickaxe on the stone with a "X" on it. Get ruby.
You forgot the lantern, so I'll tell you guys how to get it.
The pot of chili you got using the ad? Go to the train station and give it to the guy who is guarding the lantern. once he gets sick and leaves, take the lantern.
