Adventure of Cat

Adventure of CatJohnBJust released from Dofi blog, creator of the World of Sand games: Adventure of Cat, a sequel of sorts to Cat with Bow Golf. In Adventure of Cat your goal is to guide a hapless gray kitten to the end of the stage. Your only mode of transportation is an extendible stick that you can use to push against the ground, propelling the cat forward.

Everything you see in the game, including clouds and the "goal" signs, is solid and can be used to push yourself forward. You have precise control over your angle, but the physics are wobbly enough to add a little unpredictability to the mix.

Adventure of Cat consists of only one stage and will take you just a few minutes to complete. Just like some of Dofi's other recent releases, it's a simply-made and compelling game idea to help you get through the day. Play Adventure of Cat.

Cheers to videogamefreak for sending this one in!

Haha, this is fun.

5 minutes, 51.2 seconds

4 minutes, 47.1 seconds, my first time it took me a minute to figure out the physics.

5 minutes, 15 seconds. Muahahaha!

I found a little bug, if you have your stick extended and move your mouse out of the play area, it stays extended until you click.

SWEET!! I rock at this game! 2' 17.3" on my first try!

1 minute, 39.4 seconds!!!!!

I found a BIGGER bug...

MEGA SPOILER:

If you hold down the mouse, and flap the stick like a fan, you can fly!

I finished it legit too, 5:53

Hi, long time watcher, first time poster.

Beat this thing in 1;03!

There's a trick to do with the stick to get to high places quickly; Bash the stick into the ground overhand, as you would swing a pick. The stick will slam into the ground and you'll polevault up!

This game is great! Highly reccomended for any short / long break you get XD

So good....

Haha. The cat has the same kinda crown as the fabled Monkey King, and that pole looks awful familiar too......

10:48.7 that first steep hill killed me. I think i found a bug too. I got sucked into a piece of land and it elevated almost to the goal. I'd hate to see my score without that.

I must say I'm not as impressed with this game as I was with cat golf. The use of the stick isn't as intuitive as the bow... it can be both awkward and uncomfortable.

Though the idea of an extended challenge course is great and I applaud Dofi-blog on the return of Cat.

I find it awesome that a game with no sound, narrative or enormous graphics can be so involving and tactile and intriguing and spur one on to keep going for the sheer joy of being involved with it. Do you think Nintendo and so such are just embarrassed to ask Dofi Blog to develop things for them or do yo think that they just don't know about them?

POWER POLE, EXTEND!

^_^

Also, 5:54.2 on my first try.

this reminded me a lot of a game I found through TIG, Sexy Hiking. Infuriating physics...
http://www.gamemakergames.com/?a=view&id=276

the stick keeps going crazy! thats why i gave up

Whos the monkey king

2:09.2!

but that was using the pole as a fan, or spinning it around to act as a wheel (very effective with clouds). plus if you fan yourself up into the next level, you can go right through it.

I don't know if anyone else knows this....or if this is just part of the game, but if you go on the first few clouds....then you'll see these blue bars that you can climb to a piece of land....its faster to get to the goal!

SHORT CUT!!!

If you look at the clouds near the very begining, you will see 2 light blue lines. You can scale those lines with your pole. ( |/ | Like that I guess.) all the way up, and then use the fan to get to the right and there will be the goal. (fast people should only take 30-45 sec.)

i cant start!

I believe the staff is the Nyoi-bō, from the legend of the Monkey King. It's an iron rod that can shrink to a needle when not in use, or extended long enough to plumb the ocean's depths.
That would also explain the stylized crown the cat is wearing -- depictions of the Monkey King often wear that sort of crown.

40.8 seconds using the

fan method

(thanks mtheminja)

52.2 Seconds!! Flying cat of course!

How do you start? :( Stupid question, but it needs an answer :)

Also, when cloud jumping, you can bend physics a bit.

If you hit a piece of land hard enough, and stay there a bit, you can float to the top, as though the cat was extra-buoyant

heres a spoiler you can do when your almost done:

when your nearly at the end flap wicked fast wicked fast upward and you will never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever erver ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever come back down .(dun dun duuuuuuuuuuuuuun)

if you fly at ground (bottom) you can go in it and out the other side so don't take the blue lines.(To fly you not have to go all the way round just big strides and thats faster).

00:12:18,6
With fan glitch:
00:02:12,4

3:41,9 yay

Over 6 minutes and I still have no idea what the cat is supposed to be doing or where it's supposed to be going...
Will need a vet to remove the pole afterwards.
