JohnBMakibishi Comic is an atmospheric, quirky, and well-drawn point-and-click flash game created to promote the Japanese studio... Makibishi! You play the role of Asashin who is searching for five ninjas hidden across five different environments. Each stage is a new and creative area with multiple puzzles and scenes to experience. The end result feels like a stunning combination of Blue Suburbia, Hapland, and a point-and-click game, which is enough to make anyone excited.

Searching for hidden characters isn't always straightforward. In fact, rarely does it make any sense at all. In true anime-style, events in the story often have little or no connection, they just drop out of the sky, do their thing, and move on. A prime example is the bear charging from off-screen to fire a blast of energy at a gigantic gorilla. Logical? Nope. Entertaining? You bet.

The level of creativity in the design of Makibishi Comic is extraordinary. Not only are the levels crafted with unique gameplay mechanics (like the area where you rotate an entire planet), but exploring each one reveals loads of hidden gems that will make you smile.

Analysis: Makibishi Comic is filled with humor, great puzzles, and loads of amazing artwork. The style feels very much like an interactive comic strip and paints a complete (and surreal) world for you to explore.

On the down side, Makibishi Comic has a few painfully long loading screens. Chalk it up to slow servers, large files, or the physical distance across the sea to Japan, but you can expect to wait upwards of a minute for a few of the areas to load. I recommend using the quick-jump options at the top left of the screen, you can pre-load all of the areas before heading out to explore them, making your actual playtime a seamless experience. Also, the non-sequitur nature of events often leads to frustration, as you can never really tell what will trigger the next in the sequence until you start clicking. The [tab] key will be of great help to many.

With stunning artwork and a great atmosphere, this game will have you entranced for quite some time.

Play Makibishi Comic

Note: The old fashioned colored bars at the beginning of the game are just a load screen. Be patient and the title will appear! It's also worth noting that the game contains a few instances of inappropriate language and visuals for children, so play at your own risk.

Cheers to Ninjakitten for the link. =)

Finally got the last Makibishi ball!~

For the underground place:

You need to get the dudes to sing the notes of the song mentioned after the frog's arrival - I just pulled up a scale notes image from Google, then the green roll is used on the results (you need to get the key to the box and the contents of the box to the egg, first)

For the dummy dolls:

There's one in the king's room (daytime), one in the power plant room (nighttime), one in the baths (after you've turned on the water in the daytime), one in the tree room (nighttime), and one in the dino's tummy (anytime).
Then you have to collect the guy out of the crowd at the bottom of the screen.

Stinky, what green roll thing in the under ground?

Score: 0 (0 votes) Vote up Vote down Report this comment Reply

I was also stuck on getting the first ball. It's actually quite simple:

Just go to the tall stone with the monkeys, click on all the circles to make them turn white, and then click in the bottom middle, and it should finish the puzzle. Then the ball will pop out, and you'll be set.

Also... Did anyone manage to find the secret character. The ??? guy? Because I wasn't able to.
And to stinky:

From where you are at, you will want to go to the area with the big fish. You want to lure it into the left hand corner area. Just place your cursor there, it will try to swim at you. As soon as it gets in the corner, click it's head a few times. Repeat until it spits out a key. Take the key up to the box with the floating spirits and the 5 circled sign on it. Open that. You'll get a pick. Use the pick on the rock with the seal. A frog will come out. Then you click on the frog to make it go to the area with the music notes. The music reads "C D E F E D C E F G A G F E". Play it correctly and the frog will turn into a tadpole. Use the scroll that you got from the robots mouth (once you spray the ant and turn on the power, the robot crashes. You should have clicked on his mouth to get the scroll), and the tadpole will change. And you're set!

If anybody else needs help, I'll be checking back.

I've tabbed all over, and all I see is the two holding hands, the mushroom guy, the somersaulter on the big guy's back, and the one that keeps throwing either soda cans (or batteries) can't tell at the guy crawling on the big guy's back. None of them do anything but their little animation.

Guys-the bone and the monkey. Give the bone to the closest monkey.

About the !GREEN GUY!-He is there, past the weird...child...thing. You have to expand the page to see him. Its a wide scene but the opening screen is too small. Just go to the edge of the pop-op screen and widen it.

BTW, in the underground area, you have to click the fish's eye. One worker in the ant area sings "Fisherman's eye is 100 million volts la...la...la..."

After some random tabs and enters, finally hit upon the green guy. You can see him if you maximize the window...

I don't know about you guys but my favourite shinobi was Gesshin (the green one). Not necessarily his level, just the char himself XD

Anyone else have a personal favourite?

Greenfourth: Nah, I just love the game.

It's the best game I've played on the internet of all time.

This was a fun game, though I must admit I needed the walkthrough to finish. The comment about turning off the pop up blocker should be added to the walkthrough as it stopped from getting anywhere in the Garden city with the T rex.

Wish there were more games this awesome. :D

By the way, in Akatsuki, step 4 of the walkthrough, the dots are on the monolith the monkeys are facing.

Here's a translation to some of the names, I can't translate a lot as my Japanese is not really good and so I missed out those which I completely can't figure out how to translate.
Warashiamata = Huge number of children.

Chikatmasu Garden = Nearby leisure court

Sansungou = 3 Inch something (I'm not sure about the last word.)

Saegakure = (A kinda name for a tree)

Ninja names:

Gesshin = Moon heart

Gamadayu = Major Toad (I'm not sure how to translate the third word into English, but it's something like worker or specialist.)

The link took me to a screen with japanese words and colored bars like on a t.v. on the emergency broadcast system. Is this an old april fools joke?

[Edit: No, that's how the game begins. -Jay]

When I play it, in the t-rex land I have a problem where if I've visited a sub-screen once I can't go back. I just get the pop-up with a blank black screen and a "loading-- 100" in the corner. Tried two browsers.

Sad, I really liked this game!

Does this game still work? :( It seems like the creators have gone on hiatus and have taken the game with them?

Kalamari - that would seem to be the case. When I click on the link above, I just get a black window that says in white text,
"We start on a journey.
Good bye, and Thank you."
The only available link is to their studio site, which shows a Ninja phone.
