A long overdue note of welcome and thanks to several people who have stepped up to help with the site by contributing reviews for games. Their kind contributions to the site have ensured that JayIsGames continues to update at least every weekday, and sometimes even on weekends. This has been especially appreciated during the recent move, and with a new school year at RIT just beginning.
Authors who have contributed to the site thus far include: Capuchin, Jarod, Labyrinth, grant0, Wulfo, Zengief, DerekW, and Preston.
All have demonstrated they are as particular about quality gameplay as I am, and yet each new author has brought something a little different to the mix here that enriches the site as a result. I am sincerely grateful to everyone who has helped out, so please look for the "...posted by" byline at the foot of every review and become familiar with them.
If you would like to contribute to the site, please send me an email using the link next to my picture in the sidebar. So far everyone who has contributed has been male, and I would like to change that! =)

who said you have any clue about what gameplay is? Trying being more humble, and deliver, instead of talking.

YAY for the new authors. Including me. Oh yeah!

Being a college student myself, I wondered how you were managing to play and post so many games when classes were starting. There were days this summer when your site kept me entertained for hours, but now, weighted by philosophical dilemmas and organic chemistry structures, I only get an occasional glance.
I think it's great that some of these bright gamers, whose comments pepper the site, are helping you out. You've found a way to keep up the pace, so the rest of us have a needed (and challenging) respite from our studies. What more could we ask for?
Also, I would be happy to provide a female perspective on a game, some day. It may be difficult to find one, however, that you gentlemen haven't already run across. You are, truly, adept hunters.
Thanks for keeping our minds fed!

Thanks, Karmen! I appreciate that.
And I would love to have a female perspective being voiced on the blog. From reading every comment that gets posted, I'd venture a guess that the female audience here is at least 50%. Or, maybe girl gamers are just more likely to comment(?)
Regardless of the actual percentages, I would welcome your contribution if you get the time some day. And if you are looking for ideas about what games to review, just let me know! =)
cheers!

Hehe, I'll try to pitch in, too. Darn males can't get all the glory. ;)
Either way, I think it's a great idea to get more people's reviews. You'll probably end up with a lot more reviews than you need, but at least you'll stay up and running. ^_^ More games for me to play! Cheers!

I really enjoy the guest reviewers, as they tend to pick different types of games, and review them somewhat differently. Also, did you know that you'd been 'Kotaku'd'? (www.kotaku.com)
Posted by: Wulfo | September 12, 2005 2:05 PM
Thanks, Wulfo. I couldn't agree with your more. =)
And my jaw dropped when I surfed over to Kotaku today on my usual pillage of favorite games sites. =D
This marks the 2nd time in about a week that a review from here has got their attention ...and both of them were contributed by DerekW.

Thanks for the recognition Jay. Even though I notice the many authors who also contribute, it is evident by the comments that most people assume it is always you. For some reason, I find that amusing more than anything. I have to agree that the differing views only can add to the value of the site. However, I hope that you keep a tight enough reign on the reviews that the quality does not slip.
As a side, has there been anymore thought put towards an "In progress" page to reduce possible conflicts?

speak of contributing,
take a look at this.

I like doing reviews. It gives me an misplaced sense of importance.
Either the fact that 2 out of 3 of my reviews were posted and recognised elsewhere is a huge coincidence, I chose the right games to review, ot I'm just more charming than I'd suspected.
I'm thinking it's probably the second one.
Maaaaaaaaybe the last one.
