Hi! Weekday Escape and Weekday Puzzle are here!
We again start with Selfdefiant's state escape - there are only few left - and then we find ourselves in a tiny and lovely room by Gamedesign.jp (Skipmore) with clever puzzles and nice retro looks. TomoLaSiDo's escape challenge has three rooms and is longer than their standard ones - no need to say that there are more puzzles, too.
We have three puzzlers this week - the first one by Chris Klimowski which can be a bit addictive - it's basically the match 3 theme, but what you do is piling color palindroms. Interesting. Then you go for a bit of fishing in retro game by RhytmLynx, and the last is resurrected cute puzzler from 2007 by Gamedesign.jp (Taro Ito) about a cat.
Have a good time and enjoy!
We are nearing the end of the list - this week you are supposed to escape Virginia and Washington, and then are only three states left. In Virginia you need to find three huge pearls and change them for a skibike, and meanwhile feed a hungry seal. In Washington is everything only about money - you need three dollars to buy a mocha and trade it for a bike.
The cursor isn't changing, no save option, one ending.
Tiny Room
Gamedesign.jp's (Skipmore) Tiny Room is tiny indeed - but it is also cute, with several nice puzzles and clear hints. Even though the hints are clear, you need to think about them because the author managed to insert interesting twists into the few puzzles. With its pixel art it has the charm of good old games and cuteness of Japanese games.
The cursor isn't changing, no save option, one ending.
Escape Challenge 170 - Room with Sunglasses
TomoLaSiDo hasn't disappointed expectations and as all their round number games, this one is bigger than usual and brings more fun! We've got three rooms to explore and puzzles are many too, and good ones. Some of them are inactive at the beginning and unlock later after you find an item necessary for the solution. There are three sunglasses hidden in the apartment.
The cursor isn't changing, no save option, one ending.
Otteretto
The palindroms you are creating the puzzler by Chris Klimowski aren't words - they are color palindroms and to do one, you click and hold LMB, You can see how much points you would get for this one and can decide whether to do it or not. The game seems simple but you need to understand it and develop your strategy. Overall it's very good game with perfect and attractive design, cool and not disturbing soundrack and even though it's demanding, it doesn't punish. No timer.
Controlled by a mouse, manual saving. Available for mobile devices too.
P.S. We've met Chris Klimowski before - in WE N°300 you find his and Colorbomb's escape.

Curious Fishing
In the aquatic puzzler by RhytmLynx you go fishing and on the upper edge of the game screen you can see which creatures you are supposed to catch to clear a level. Your rope isn't endless so you need to plan your steps to get everywhere - there are obstacles, and also some creatures not easy to get!
Controlled by Arrow keys. To undo, to confirm and back click buttons on the virtual Game Boy. Under the gamescreen are instructions and also the link if you want to match the browser window size. 30 levels.
Circle the Cat
Gamedesign's (Taro Ito) puzzler isn't a new game - it was originally released in 2007 and made in Flash. Now you can play it on Crazy Games if you wish. The goal is simple but more difficult than it seems - you need to encircle the black cat sooner than it runs away from the play field. Original review is here: Cat Noir.
We love escape games, and our readers love talking about them and sharing hints! How about you? Let us know what you think, ask for clues, or help out other players in the comments below.
Tinyroom
Has a glitch with inventory. Mine slid left and the coin I needed is not available. There is an arrow that might slide the inventory bar back to the right but it is non responsive.

Tinyroom
Never mind. It does slide. You have to hold your mouse button down and slide it yourself.
Tinyroom was cute and pretty enjoyable. Gave me flashbacks to that odd escape game from some years back where you started off with almost incomprehensible pixels, and each "pass" through the room made the graphics progressively more detailed. (Anyone remember the name of that game? I'd like to play it again!)
Escape Challenge 170 - Room With Sunglasses was quite satisfying—tomoLaSiDo never disappoints. The four-digit code on the wooden box was really confusing:
The clue in the fountain only gives you a sequence, not a solution.
The round head we got the first sunglasses from provides the rest.
Put the second sunglasses (the Wayfarers) on the round head. He reveals the digits 1111.
Enter 1111 into the wooden box, starting with the third position, then second, then first, then fourth (the 3-2-1-4 order given by the fountain).
I'd love to know what the toilet said. The "glare" is so bright that Google Translate can't make out the text. 😎

毎度ありがとうございます
Basically, "thank you (for playing)"
Ah—thank you for that info! 🙂
Are you good with Japanese kana? I'd also love to know what was up with the optional puzzle in Escape Challenge 169: Room With Ice from a couple of weeks ago. tomoLaSiDo's games normally don't have any language barrier, but it appears you need to know some kana to decipher that one puzzle.
Loved Tiny Room - hard enough to be a bit challenging, but well designed, logical and elegant. The thinking I need for a Sat morning wake up - great stuff!
