The first in a creepy new point-and-click series set in a Wonderland a few degrees off from the one you may recall. A gruesome sight greets you when you open your eyes in this fractured fairytale... but just who are you, anyway? To find out, first you'll have to find your way out and dig a little deeper into the mystery. Provided you're prepared for what you may discover on the other side of the looking glass.
The Great House Escape beat out Lights!?
O_o
Lights got shafted. Either that or too many people were turned off by the solar cell puzzle.
Or they forgot it was called Lights.
Sagrario ought to have gotten higher as well, but perhaps that inventory system was too fussy. Or they forgot which one Sagrario's was.
Note to self, if making a game, give it a cool name...
Holy cow, I just noticed Room Marine. Really? Really?! There were the color-blind issues, but that was one of the best of the year.
Hmm. Seems to me that Sagrario's Room or Lights should've been shoe-ins. But maybe I just love the harder games with realistic graphics. Anything Neutral does is already head and shoulders above the competition ...
I agree with the above comments. "Alice is Dead" was a cool little game with a killer soundtrack, but "Lights" was a magnificently-executed escape game, and I can't believe "Room Marine" came in dead last--Place of Light has quickly become one of my favorite escape developers.
I'm split on how I feel about The Great House Escape doing so well. If it weren't Mateusz Skutnik, I probably wouldn't be half as critical of it as I am, if only because I know he can produce mind-blowingly excellent work, and it's far from his best. From any other developer, I'd consider it a solid game. The double-standard is my fault, I know--it's just strange that The Great House Escape did better than Covert Front 3.
Agreed, scottique.
Now I'm wondering why there was no editorial prize for this category, if they were so dead-set on doing it that way.
Aww :( I think Christmas escape 3 or lights or the great house escape should have won!
