tinygrow.gifJohnBTinyGrow is a captivating flash toy created by Shinichiro Sato of box7box.com. The game lets you create a surreal garden scene by finding and dropping different types of seeds. Thick black trees sprout at random from the bottom of the screen, each with a rotating icon in the center. Click the icon to activate one of several events to discover seeds and grow more foliage. For example, if you stop the icon on the leaf, a branch will grow from the tree and leaves will appear. Use the cursor to scatter the leaves and click on the seed pods. They'll drop and grow new, colorful plants.

Part of the fun of TinyGrow is discovering how to use each event to create more plants. You never know what will show up next, where the seeds will sprout, or what shape the plant will take when it grows. Your only input is stopping the random icon and finding the seeds. But no matter what happens, you get a gorgeous screenshot at the end of the game.

While a few more random icon events would have been great, TinyGrow still manages to trap and hold your attention for a surprisingly long time. It's creative, it's a bit artistic, and it's fun to see what sort of strangeness appears at the end. Click the link and see what your garden grows.

I remember playing this game a long time ago! It's got some great gameplay, simplistic but addictive. The graphics are good as well, though the exploding effect could use a bit more work. Still, very interesting, I'd love to see this expanded!

After I worked to get my garden flowery it says at the final screen "A work by Shinchiro Sato"... a bit frustrating player-psychology... It might be better to give the player some feeling he has just grown the picture...

Awesome, awesome. I had a slow computer here it goes so slow after several trees. So I refreshed page to see what other icons do. I haven't got to end.

great game, the only downfall, I would enjoy it with some music :)

Great game!
It's so fun because I like things like that.

Here is an image of my favorite screen shots

Is it just me, or after leaving this idle for a few minutes (say for a sandwich break or the like) does it start running painfully slow and using a lot of memory?

XyzzySqrl, yes i also noticed this application is a memory/cpu blackhole :(

There's another game like this at the box7box site, although I have yet to locate a point. Can someone see if they can find any purpose/symbolism to it?

I always got the bird and the fan at the first play. I think it would be better with some music or sound..

how do you take a screen shot?

one thing that very irks me is that the bomb comes :(((((
i wish bomb would go awway ;(

Bomb only comes when you use all the possible branch spaces on a random icon tree - Think of it as turning a new leaf, eh? (more like starting off fresh, but that's not a relevent pun, now is it?) :)

i kept getting the bomb!

Cute game and great creativity. If there was a goal to work towards, it would be better.

Cute little game, and definitely agreed that a few more plants would be nice. :}
