If you've played a spot the difference game, either in your browser or on a mobile device, chances are you've seen one or more releases from Difference Games, a studio dedicated to visually stunning, easy to play spot the difference games. Twisted Fairytales: Pinnochio is one such release, incorporating graphic novel-style storyboards and three levels of difficulty to make your pixel hunting as challenging or as casual as you please!
This tale of Pinnochio plays out a little differently than the classic story, but the basic ideas are the same. You are shown a single page from a comic at a time, one version on the left and the other on the right. Each screen has a total of five differences you need to spot. All you have to do is tap the difference and you'll get a few points. A small circle "cursor" helps with accuracy, as some of these hotspots are miniscule in size. Hints are available and recharge over time, and the faster you work, the higher your final score will be.
The visuals in the Twisted Fairytales series are always a high point, and Pinnochio doesn't let us down. The story is simple and told without words, which is a plus if you know a child who could use a nice cyberpunk-style difference game to play. This installment in the Twisted Fairytales series is, at the time of writing, exclusive to NOOK Apps and the Amazon Appstore, so if you've got a NOOK Color, NOOK Tablet, Kindle Fire or Android device, you should make grabbing this beautiful little game a top priority!

nice & calming--which is, of course, one of the major reasons to play this sort of game. very good soporifics, these. & this one, as all of its type, is quite well illustrated & at least a somewhat interesting take on the source material.
two flaws:
• some of the differences are almost too small to see, even on a huge monitor;
• that, & the squishy squelchy noise it makes if one touches far enough outside the boundary of the thing that was too small to see so that it no longer counts. that & its dissonance will wake you up! no matter how far down the velvety road you have tumbled towards torpor. klung, squashy squashy klung.
still, a decent entry in the difference competition. though i dont know how possible it will be to play on a mobile when the images are intermittently infinitesimal on an imac.
