Tonypa is back with a new puzzle game and this one will surely give your grey matter a work out. In the spirit of Web-based riddle games, Tercessrebmun (or Secret Numbers) is a Flash game in which you must figure out the password for each of the game's 30 levels. Each level presents a series of characters from which you must derive meaning and clues that point to a single numeric answer. Enter your answer in the space provided (by replacing the "CODE?" text) using positive integers only and no other symbols. Some are straightforward and some are definitely not, but all solutions can be derived using logic and ingenuity. Wikipedia may even help with a few of them.

This game is best played in small groups of people, like the one we had in the site's IRC channel over the weekend as we worked through most of the levels in the game. Tony even showed up to give us a few helpful hints as we played, so don't be afraid to ask for a hint or two in the comments! Or come visit our IRC channel for some real-time assistance! OK, guys. Completed walkthrough. Each level has at least a couple of hints, so you don't have to jump straight to the answer if you just want help.

1-30

Game Clue:

1+2+3+4

Hints:

You're Kidding, Right?

Have you looked at the clue?!

It looks like a simple equation to me.

Solution:

1+2+3+4=10. So the answer is 10

2-30

Game Clue:

MY LEVEL

Hints:

Well, you need a unique identifier for the level

Have you looked at the level number?

Solution:

It's level 2, so the answer is 2

3-30

Game Clue:

SEA OF FIRE EATING THE MOON VOICES HUMMING END IS NEAR NUMBER GOES ON

Hints:

Look to the beginning of the clue.

Of should I say clues?

Solution:

The letters that begin each line spell out SEVEN. The answer is 7

Game Clue:

DERDNUHNAHTSSELENO

Hints:

Look back.

And I don't mean at previous questions

Solution:

Reverse the character order of the clue and it says ONE LESS THAN HUNDRED. The answer is 99.

Game Clue:

THE HOLY GOAL IS EQUALITY. SUBDIVIDE EVERY MONTH INTO TUESDAY. XBOX IN STEROIDS

Hints:

Two previous solutions help here.

Obviously not 1-30

And not 2-30 either

Solution:

Taking the first letter of each word, you get THGIESEMITXIS

Reverse that and you get SIX TIMES EIGHT. The answer is 48.

6-30

Game Clue:

GAIUS JULIUS CAESAR: MY MEN VISIT IMMORTALS IN INDIA

Hints:

The clue has two parts

The logical split would be the new line

The first line implies something to do with a country

The second might hark back to a previous solution

Solution:

The first line implies a Roman connection

Such as Roman Numerals

The words of the second line all include Roman Numerals as their first letter. MMVIII = 2008

Hints:

You'll need to put it in bin.

Or perhaps Binary

Try separating out apparent 1's and 0's

Solution:

Removing the I's and O's, you get the binary sequence 1010011. The answer is 83

Game Clue:

THE SPACE HAS A MEANING. LIGHT COMES FROM THE STARS. THE PLANETS ORBIT IN ETERNAL CIRCLE

Hints:

It all comes down to one line.

Or, rather, Line One.

The meaning is the spaces.

Solution:

Count the spaces in each line, add them up and you get 4+4+5=13. The answer is 13

Game Clue:

EVERY DATE WE TWO MET, I ASKED IF I MAY KISS HER HAND. NO, SHE SAID, NOT BEFORE ALEXANDER THE GREAT IS GONE

Two date variables are in the text, the last you'll have to investigate from the text

The first line gives you the rest of the date

2 May. The answer is 25323

Hints:

Where do we find keys?

A standard set of keys, that is.

Solution:

It's the number of keys in a PIANO. The Answer is 88

Hints:

Another Latin clue.

How did you solve the last one?

There must be Roman numerals somewhere

Solution:

The Roman numerals are X L I, which is 41.

Solution:

Hints:

Add third to fourth

Solution:

Add the Third answer (7) to the Fourth (99). The answer is 106

This one will take you back to the start. It really mixes it up.

Look at the START.

Then MIX IT UP

Solution:

The first two lines refer to the hands of a clock and the directions they face at a given time

Long hand up. Small hand east. 3 o'clock.

The last line tells you to Wait a dozen times a dozen minutes from then, only backwards. So go back 144 minutes from 3 o'clock. 12:36, or 1236

Take the clue alphabetically

Take each letter in the clue back one.

I know how to make the maze, I know that I have to start from the period, I know the directions are Up/Down/Left/Right, but what I don't get is how to use them, as they don't match to the maze.

On #22: I've got

The whole "Prime Number Thirty" thing.

It seems pretty apparent that it's not

anything to do with the prime number in the thirties, hence the singular thirty.

This leads me to believe that

it means the thirtIETH prime, which if my math is right is 101

, but that's not working either. Any insights?

Seeing as 30 could be still trouble, here are some more hints:

You dont have to convert mice word to numbers, the hint in there was mICE, meaning slippery ground.

Now if the blind mouse would move in the maze, it would probably bump into walls.

All letters except X are counted as walls.

Move until there is dot in instructions, then read the last letter you hit.

I was just about to write and say that with those hints it still didn't work, when something dawned on me.

The period counts as a wall too, even though you start on it.

So with that in mind, I finally got through the game. :D

Well with all the hints surrounding 30, I was finally able to finish the game. Thanks Tonypa for creating such an exhilarating mental coaster ride. Version 2 on its way? Maybe? If you can somehow manage to pull together the creative talents of the JIG community, then I can see nothing but a bigger, better, much more engaging experience that is Tercessrebmun 2. Or shall it be 2 Tercessrebmun? =)

I'm failing at the very last step. I followed all hints given and get 4 letters (two of which are the same) and no fifth letter (or as I did: define the starting '.' as a valid result).

Concretely, I get as a result:

BEBU.

with that:

I tried all year-numbers (birth, death, disco hit) of the argentinian composer (to no avail) and there is also a romanian river by that name (which leaves me completely clueless)... There seems to be no anagram either...

To make the confusion perfect:

It seems to me, that there are a few obsolete moving instructions having the mouse bumping into the maze's "boundary-walls" just for fun. Or is the mouse supposed to do some "pacman-warping-thing" appearing at the opposite side of the maze?!

*sigh*, please kindly guide this lost soul out of its maze...

Ok so I figured out that "OVER" is a clue to

invert the characters in the second line (namely: ROT-13)

And the resulting characters appear to be yet another

anagram, since I can see the word "multiply" in there

But I can't make head or tail of the rest of it. As far as I can tell, there just aren't enough

vowels to complete the anagram

I don't know what to do with the word "GAME", so I suspect that has something to do with what I'm missing. Perhaps I'm completely on the wrong track?

Can someone help me out on lvl 20? I read that it says

3x-9y+27 and that y=9

but I don't understand how to solve the equation.

DON'T move in maze like this:

Duh! What I did wrong is to execute every set of moving instruction from the starting 'dot' and I did fancy stuff like displacing the mouse of the 'dot'-field in order to start it going in order to move; obviously my 5th mouse was extremely dumb...(I guess, I still assumed there where 8 mice, of which for some strange reason only 5 got to move/escape/whatever with their own set of moving instruction)

Thanks for the game Tonypa, I enjoyed it, however it should come with a disclaimer that
