This is it! We are down to the last few hours before deadline for our 4th Casual Gameplay Design Competition!
The Jayisgames mail server has decided now would be a good time to stop working as designed, and emails sent to the competition4 address are failing to be delivered. But that hasn't stopped many of you from finding a way to get us your entries, and we are grateful for your perseverance. Entries have been pouring in all weekend and today, and we have already surpassed all previous competitions in terms of number of entries received, so we are very pleased!
So, if you have not yet received confirmation from us that we have received your entry, please send your entry to the Gmail address listed at the bottom of the sidebar to the left and be sure you get a confirmation from us that we have received your entry. And thank you for participating! =)

Cool, when will we be able to play them?
Posted by: Tsuken | October 1, 2007 10:12 PM
Tsuken - we will (hopefully) begin to roll them out sometime later Tuesday, and then continue with one every few hours until they are all up, as we have done in the past.
I am still trying to get all the incoming entries organized and set up and tested within the framework. So far, everything has been flowing very smoothly, so THANK YOU EVERYONE! :D
Over 40 entries this time(!)

Can't wait!!!! I hereby declare work productivity to come to a screeching halt approximately next Tuesday :)

I can't wait! This should be a very interesting contest, what with the extra dev time and physics theme. Cheers to all, ;)

Forty?! :-O
Jay, you appear to have created a phenomenomenomenon!
Posted by: Dom | October 2, 2007 5:32 AM
Wow, 40 entries! I guess that puts my chances of winning anything down to zero! Not that I mind, I'm just really looking forward to seeing what everyone has come up with and playing all the great entries.
Good luck to everyone entering =).

phenomenomenomenon? odd... it's actually very easy to pronounce and sounds funny :)
Tuesday as in next week or Tuesday as in today..? :) I'm in New Zealand and we're going to Wednesday (3 Oct) within 20 minutes already. The rest of the world is a little bit slow :P

good thing I sent my file to jay, because that competition address did bounce back. :D

Make that very close to a nice round 50 (give or take one or two).
And yes, sorry, Tsuken, when I say later Tuesday, I am speaking from an Eastern time zone (GMT-5:00) perspective. =)
I'm working as fast as I can. Check back a bit later, please.

50!? Wow, I'm with Ali! That makes it much harder to get noticed. But it'll keep us all busy for ages playing all of them! I can't wait!

ZOMG
I can't believe that we get to experience 50 undoubtedly fantastic games. I remember back in the day with the first design competition. We only had 1/2 a game and we APPRECIATED IT!!!
I'm psyched though. I have stuff to take care of. I don't have time to play 50 games. Give me a break, Jay. Seriously. Guh.
Whoooo!

Agree with Dom,
well done JIG crew, you've created something that's really appreciated across the globe.

I really don't see the reason why you Jay haven't asked the participants to prepare necessary screenshots, icons (or what ever) of their games - not such a big help to you but with 50 entries could make your life easier anyway.

is there a CGDC5 coming?
Posted by: abbas isa | October 2, 2007 11:59 AM
abbas isa: Isn't it a bit too early to talk about CGDC5? Couldn't you have waited until all the CGDC4 games have been posted? ;)
Anyway, I can't see any reason why there shouldn't be another competition. Casual gameplay doesn't end with ball physics.

Idea for next competition theme: "Alternate Realties."
I want to hear some people's ideas for the next theme, just for kicks!

Idea!
What you think if people would vote on games per individual categories? Just like you did as jury the competitions before?
