Mat from Nitrome sent word of a YouTube video they put together to show Hot Air 2 in action, including a Balloon Maker with which you can customize your own balloon to use in the game! The release is coming very soon now, so here's a little movie to whet your appetite...
Update: Hot Air 2: All Blown Up is now available to play! Check out our review of it to see how it measures up against the original and against other Nitrome games.

The original Hot Air was released back in late 2005, so if you're relatively new here you might have missed it. Hot Air was Nitrome's first release.

thanks! I love how a great site like this can go completely under the radar (for me at least).. great find. Too bad I have to go to work and not try out these games. haha

that game reminds me of the old "supermario world"

While I am always keen on new nitrome games (having completed two of them, which is quite unusual for me), I didn't like the original "Hot Air" because I found it way too frustrating, and I fear I won't like the sequel either... just look at all those blades and snakes and traps just waiting to explode that flimsy ballon of mine!
I do love the graphics style though.

The music for the trailer is great. Game looks cool, too; now I just have to try the first one...

Do you know what Nitrome should do?
They should make a Hot Air for the DS.
That would be awesome. I love all of nitromes
games.

Hot Air is my least favorite Nitrome game... it is way too difficult, I can't get past the third level.
This one seems different, and it better be easier or at least more likable, because it looks even harder than the other one.

I never could get past the 3rd level in Hot Air 1, not because it was too hard to ever beat, but because it'd take me about 15 minutes per level to successfully beat them. And I don't think there's a Save feature which would really be a plus.
I still think Nitrome has some of the best looking games out there, including the new Hot Air 2.

To all those who got stuck on Hot Air, I was the exact same way. Every single level in the game seems impossible! But that makes beating the level feel so much better, and when you come back to get the stars later on you won't believe how easy it seems. I played through to the second last level (with all the stars up until then to boot!) before I gave up. It's hard as heck, but nothing Nitrome has done since has come close to it. I've been dying to play the sequel ever since the announcement!

It looks like it is going to be an awsome game but probably terribly difficult for a novice like me.

Looks fantastic. Like many, I sucked at the first one as well, but I'm looking forward to this one.

Man! Imagine Hot Air combined with Super Mario 3, then add a Ballon Editor and WHAMO! You got Hot Air 2!
I'm guessing that black blimp that kidnapped the hot air balloon's girlfriend is the final boss.

The only drawback for me is that the first Hot air was too hard, but I am still excited for the release.

looks super awesome, and also way too super hard... lol

I can't wait! It looks so fun!

Don't get me wrong but I'll be the happiest person in the world when Nitrome will release arcade with classic mario/wario/kirby like gameplay and controls.
