Multiplayer games can be a lot of fun due to the competitive social dynamics involved. Playing against real people, in most cases and for most games, is inherently more rewarding than playing against some human-coded AI. Even single player games that offer up a high score list inject a bit of the multiplayer competitive element, though without the social dynamics. That's why I find myself playing single player games with high score lists more often than those without, and why I find myself continually going back to games like WEBoggle and Conqueror simply because of the dynamics involved in playing against a live human opponent. And I've just found another game to add to that list.
iSketch is an online multiplayer Shockwave game similar to the drawing game Pictionary, and it works remarkably well on the Web. You sign in with a username—no registration is required—and enter any available room, though no more than 10 can play at a time. Each round consists of 10 sketches. Players take turns drawing a word assigned by the game. When it's your turn, a basic and simple-to-use drawing interface appears with which to begin drawing. Players type their guesses in and the game recognizes when someone gets it right, which then begins a 10-second countdown for any remaining players to get it right. Your score is based on how quickly you guess the word. It's very well designed and loads of fun. This one is a keeper, and you simply must try it out! Click.

Isketch rocks the world. It's the best game I ever played. I love to create my own room and see how many people join. Even though I'm not any good at drawing, people still guess my word and I enjoy chating with real life virtual buddies that I've never met. 5 stars out of 5.

OH good we just updated our computer and I was thinking that the firewall or something was preventing me from accessing isketch. Hopefully it is a weekend thing and will be up and running soon.

Great game, but why isn't it loading, is it moving server or something?

Can anyone help me? I used to play this game alot, but It won't work for me nowadays. I go to www.isketch.net, I click Play Now, then it just goes to a blue screen and the log-in screen doesn't come, it just has a small icon in the top left corner, but I have macromedia shockwave installed and everything. I think the problem is the server is full. That's the message I just got when trying to connect.
The game loaded ok, and asked for username and password.

Isketch is a great game, but like all gems, has it's flaws. The server is full alot, and the words a repeated. Also, when you "obey the rules" and report people, you can get your privaleges taken away. But all in all, Isketch is a fun game that's worth the 20 minutes wait I had today... oh well.
P.S. Just wait for a while to get your privaleges back. They'll come back in a few days or a week or two.

My isktech was working perfectly, but now when I press 'play' on the blue screen instead of the log-in screen showing, it says server 503 unnavailable or something like that. I was just on it and it said I had lost game connection... now that server message is all that shows, any thoughts? Thanks.

Well, I hope you're right, ameem. I was only supposing since there were so many people commenting here that they were unable to play. Do we honestly need everyone to leave a comment saying the same thing?
As I said before, I have nothing to do with iSketch, I only reviewed the game when I first found it a couple of years ago and fell in love with it.
But free games don't last forever. It costs money to maintain Web servers, and I wouldn't be surprised to see the game disappear someday because of the costs involved to keep it running.

This happens. A lot. Not terrible often, but often enough that if you play 1) a lot, 2) at a bad time, than you will notice.
It's always temporary as I've seen. They don't have the resources to handle the popularity they've gotten.
This has actually happened several times since I became addicted to this game.
They'll be back when the load lightens... or when they get higher bandwidth or hardware or whatever their bottleneck is.

Help, I just loaded an image of myself on isketch though imageshack but it freezerd my internet and closed down and everytime I try to log on it freezes and closes my internet down I think it's becouse of the image I loaded it's not the right format but I can't change it becouse I can't get onto isketch.
