Weekday Escape

DoraGoooooooooood morning, starshine! The world was neither devoured by flame nor overrun by a race of flesh-eating man-like hippos while we slept, so it's another glorious Wednesday! Let us give thanks to the Escape Game Gods by partaking in the customary rituals. This week! Vitamin Hana's put you to work, though it's more than a little bit creepy, so the benefits better be worth it. Esklavos' dog is on the road again, but may want to stop taking things with engines. And Primera's got one messy puppy, though taking care of it would probably be simplified (though less fun) without a lot of those locks.

My Puppy'sMy Puppy's - Puppies, dude. I know they look all cute and floppy, but there is no better animal to destroy your home like a tiny adorable tornado in about five minutes. Still, Primera's pup is definitely pretty cute and innocent looking, though I imagine taking care of it would probably be a lot easier if every single surface didn't have some sort of puzzle lock on it. To leave, you'll need to tend to this pampered pooch, so get cracking and look for clues!

Stains and the GuruStains and the Guru - Speaking of dogs, it might be time for me to stop making fun of the name of Esklavos' intrepid pooch. He's a lot more capable than I am by this point, even if he still needs your help to get around. This time, Stains is seeking some enlightenment, and as usual, you've got a map full of locations to visit. But, also as usual, you've got to repair your transportation first, so roll up your sleeves and get to work, and then maybe sign up for AAA, because this is getting ridiculous.

Work at the Coffee ShopWork at the Coffee Shop - Vitamin Hana knows there's no greater cage than being stuck behind someone who takes fourteen minutes to explain their coffee order and then complains about the je ne sais quoi of the beans, but you'll face a different challenge here... a coffee shop filled with unsettlingly faceless people who nonetheless still stare at you. Expectantly. Waiting. One of them guarding the door. Look, I know this is allegedly an escape game, but if I don't hear from you in an hour, I'm calling Buffy, okay?

We love escape games, and our readers love talking about them and sharing hints! How about you? Let us know what you think, ask for clues, or help out other players in the comments below.

Re: Coffee Shop - easiest job I ever got, but the training could be improved :)

Regarding Work at the Coffee Shop:

Training is very skimpy. You have to figure out everything by trial and error and the policeman won't let you leave early!

General hint about the game:

Sometimes you have to wait after you accomplish something to get a reaction in order to progress.

The key in My Puppy didn't work for me. But I had two out of three clues for the final lock, so was able to cheat my way out.

I have everything solved, except the doughnut lock.

At J-Walk:

For the key...

Was it the dirty one that is half brown?

If so, cleaning it would change things a bit.

Ha! The key was probably the only item I didn't try that with.

This is slightly off-topic, but ... I have to brag somewhere (to someone who actually understands) that I recently played the entire "Escape Men" series.

SO MUCH FUN!! That's right, I have no life ... and yes, I had to look at a few walkthroughs, but it was such a blast. More than 100 episodes, lots of hilarious situations, and many interesting and unknown cultural phenomena!

No 1 Game seems to be busy with other projects, but hopefully another EM game is in the works soon. I would be excited about it, and I think lots of others would too!

Clever Coffee Shop. The doughnut lock was tricky.

I wonder if I could put Work at the Coffee Shop on my resume. It was nice to have get hired right away.

And at roughly $10 an hour, too.
