Hi! Weekday Escape and Weekday Puzzle are here!

We start in tomoLaSiDo's room with the rabbit tails, and then you will try to deal more or less successfully with the puzzles in Hi Taro's room. As a new year's present we got a new asylum from Selfdefiant and it's big and fun just like his older asylums used to be. Finally we have a puzzle game by Lio Lim - just one, but a very, very good one in all aspects.

Have a good time and enjoy!

Escape Challenge 179: Room with Bunny Tails

rabbit.pngThere are only two rabbit tails to be found in tomoLaSiDo's room, but you'll have a lot of fun with one of them - and you can't solve a few puzzles without it. You come across a few Japanese characters but you don't need to understand their meaning, if you had geometric shapes instead of characters, the use would be the same.
The cursor isn't changing, no save option, one ending.

Edit: Changing name of the game from Escape Challenge 178: Room with Rabbit Tails to Escape Challenge 178: Room with Bunny Tails. Thanks to jF.

The Twisted Person's Room

twisted.pngHi Taro's relatively short game can take a lot of time because the puzzles are really tricky and it's not easy to find a solution. But you can find help on YT if you need it.
The cursor isn't changing, no save option, one ending.

Asylum 2023

asylum1.png

After a long time we got a new asylum from Selfdefiant and after an even longer time it is a large building with everything that belongs to an asylum. There are purple orbs floating in the air which you collect in a green vial - when you find it, of course - to pay with them in a special shop where you buy a map and other items. You need to find seven blood red gems here, and when you find the last one, some of the rooms will show sockets for them. At that moment the door of the asylum is open...never mind that you didn't find the woman you came to the asylum to look for.
The cursor is changing, no save option, one ending. I haven't encountered any bugs.

The Runic Conjecture

Lio Lim's puzzle game is not only charming but also clever. In addition to a pleasant soundtrack and good-looking graphics, it offers a lot of nice puzzles to progress further and discover more, and the game slowly passes by like a pleasant afternoon in the park. No wonder it took first place in Gamecraft 2022!
Controlled by arrow keys, autosave.

We love escape games, and our readers love talking about them and sharing hints! How about you? Let us know what you think, ask for clues, or help out other players in the comments below.

An Asylum Game and no comments???

I'm stuck with the piano. I see the clue and it looks sort of like the video but nothing I do works.

New Asylum game! Thank you, SelfDefiant!

The Runic Conjecture was nice. Might have just overlooked it, but the game needs a way to get to the settings while playing—I didn't adjust any volumes before playing, and that wind got really annoying. Other than the noisy wind, the ambience was lovely.

I think I've found a whopping huge bug in Asylum 2023. If you don't spend your orbs a certain way, you can block yourself from progressing in the game:

The vendor in room I sells you various items, one of which is the Sacred Cross. But you probably already have enough orbs to buy both the Map (15 orbs) and the Sacred Dagger (20 orbs). If you buy the two of them, you don't have enough orbs left to purchase the Sacred Cross, which is necessary in room G to get the blue key. Without the blue key, you can't open any new areas. And the areas you already have access to don't contain enough orbs to allow you to purchase anything else.

Argh. Thankfully this happens fairly early in the game, so you don't lose much by restarting. But things like that are most uncool.

And why is Selfdefiant still authoring in Flash? It's officially been dead for a couple of years now. I couldn't get the Ruffle emulator to work, and had to resort to downloading the Flash source file and running it locally. Works nicely, but not all of us still have Flash Professional on our systems to do such a workaround. Selfdefiant needs to move to Unity or Animate. Or HTML5—plenty of free development environments for that!

For the piano:

Note the paper embedded in the wall in room J. It reads:

     Falling Above From Below
     Evening Comes And Goes

The piano displays the musical notes A through G (here starting with C and going up to B). So something must give us a sequence of letters among A to G.

Look at that paper again. All the words start with letters found in the musical scale.

The words on the paper give us a sequence of F, A, F, B, E, C, A, G. "Play" this on the piano by pressing each note in that order.

Are we positive Asylum 2023 has only one ending?

The message at the end of mine read, "You escaped but you never found the girl".

Was there something else to accomplish?  🤨

The "gimmick" of The Twisted Person's Room is not worth the headache.

Having to reload a game—which means having to download all that Unity data again—just to be able to finish it?  No thank you.

I'm with magic squares like 4red3s is with Traffic puzzles. Don't need it, don't want it, don't give it to me…  😣

Nice tomoLaSiDo this time, but can anyone explain the significance of the rabbit tails? And what was with the graffiti in the bathroom?

I'm kinda wondering if these are not rabbit tails, but bunny tails.  🤭

Why do so many of these games not like Firefox? The game never loads. Says Unity but that is it.

A little help for Asylum, if you can, please.

For the skull's teeth.

I have no idea what I'm doing! I'm, just clicking teeth! Is there an end result I'm looking for? Is there a clue somewhere that applies?

In Asylum, there is a clue for

the skull puzzle. Notice that there are only certain teeth that react when clicked. The goal is to remove all the clickable teeth. The clue is in

the book - page 7.

I just finished Asylum and had the same question. So I checked the video walkthrough by selfdefiant. That showed just the one ending. I figured maybe there was a second one and it had to do with

the crystal ball.

But I guess not. That was just a keepsake from my time at the asylum.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that! Never did use that thing…  🤔

Finally got back around to working on this. Thanks for the help Stuck! Didn't have that important item yet. I'm good now. Thanks again!

By the way, in the Asylum games from SelfDefiant, for those unfamiliar the Crystal Ball allows you to travel anywhere on the map just by clicking that room on the map. You don't need it. It just makes life easier once you have it and know which room you want to go to.

Well after 3 days the power went out and shut my game down. I'm not starting over. It was good while it lasted.

Ohhhh, I did not think of that. So I was using it without even knowing! I just thought that was the map on it's own.

Thanks!
