Hi, it's the time for a Christmas special and it's here...
...and it's very plain, I'm sorry. There just aren't new Christmas games out - Flash games are gone so no chance for a good find in archives, and only developers who delivered games for this WE are the usual ones. Maybe some games will come out later but for now we have what we have: two Selfdefiant's escapes, two nice games by Amajeto, and a new tomoLaSiDo with a small Christmas tree.
We've got one Christmas gift though - after a long time, a new Gatamari's game is out and it's awesome!
That's all and stay tuned - on Friday will be posted another Christmas game!
Have a good time and enjoy!
Selfdefiant has left you astray twice, in Idaho and in Illinois. In snowy Idaho are Christmas decorations already up but you aren't staying there for holidays, you head for Illinois. The red truck parking there seems convenient for an escape - you just need to find a key.
The first person you meet in Illinois is Santa and he offers you the best ride ever, on his sleigh drawn by reindeers - if you find three gifts he needs - hurry up, this is a unique chance!

December
Amajeto's games are getting more and more atmospheric with more puzzles and more areas to explore. Nice. The house you want to escape looks comfortable, clean and cosy, and you may wish to stay there for a while. Snowflakes are falling from the sky and when you look out from the window, the ground is fully covered by snow - but you can't go out, the door is locked - can you get the key?

Snowy Holidays
You find yourself at another pleasant place, a bigger one, and your goal is the same, to get out of there (although you may wish to stay there - Amajeto's houses are really welcoming). You need to gather eight tiles to get a key and that's not for free - the puzzles are waiting for you! Notice, that aside from being better looking, Amajeto's games are getting more cunning, too.

Escape Challenge 151: Room with Baskets
I'm not sure about the translation of the game's name but what you keep finding there does look like baskets, and for the perfect ending you need to collect eleven of those. As we know, tomoLaSiDo often tends to create difficult puzzles and sometimes is Japanese language involved. Not this time. This one is on a easlier side - maybe it's Christmas spirit.

Empty Prison
Gatamari's latest game is smart, long and has three endings. It's a perfect gift for escape games fans - it's a pleasure to play it, (almost) every solved puzzle gives a feeling of deep satisfaction.
For those who have issues with starting the game - switch off an adblock and/or change a browser. It worth the effort. It's an excellent game!

We love escape games, and our readers love talking about them and sharing hints! How about you? Let us know what you think, ask for clues, or help out other players in the comments below.
In December, the left/right buttons clue needs to be reversed—it's not in the order you'd initially think. Specifically:
The red dots on the wooden Christmas tree by the bed give you the pattern for the left/right puzzle, but it's from the base of the tree up, not down as you might think.
"Angels we have heeeeeeeeard on hiiiiiigh…" 🎶
Man, rare complaint about Amajeto's Snowy Holidays—the clue for the refrigerator door puzzle is really hard to see:
The solution is the black dots on the snowmen upstairs in the bedroom. Using sizes from 1 to 4, the eyes of the left snowman are 1 and the eyes of the right snowman is 2. If you look carefully, you can see the size difference there.
But looking at the lower dots, those are 3 on the left snowman and 4 on the right. Even zoomed in, I can't tell any size difference between the two.
But, oh wow at the different artwork style. And cunning is right—I was walking through the house thinking, "Where are all the puzzles???" 😮
Anyone else hearing bad music in Room With Baskets? Sounds "gravelly" for me. The other sound seems just fine.
If you're looking for that eleventh basket, don't forget the one in your inventory—it counts towards your total, but the game won't reflect that until you walk out the door.
In Empty Prison, how do you get the fourth digit for the door leading to the shower room?
I got the 7 from the calendar and the 12 from the clock, but I tried the last digit until I got it (it's 9). I'm guessing it's what you're supposed to get from the circle-square-triangle document on the computer, but how does that give you nine?
The fourth digit
is in the starting room
in the four door cabinet
behind the basketball ball
you need to get rid of it
did you check the radiator in the room with computers?
Wow, I never would have thought to add that in, being…
…in a completely different room.
So what was that clue on the computer for?
(Incidentally, just got the "Whiteout" ending. Might still be a spoiler for me!)
Empty Prison was great
3 endings tough but fun!
Thank you for this game :)
the triangle is upside down
computer clue was for a locker
The clue on the computer on the right
a circle, a square and a triangle
IS for the door leading to the shower room as you wrote
behind the basket ball is a triangle with digit 6
the triangle in the computer clue is upside down
so the solution is 9
agreed... Snowy Holidays was definitely not a gimme.
also, for the fridge door puzzle...
i think the clue was the relative size of the snowmen themselves (head and body), not so much their eyes. at least, that's how i figured it.
Ah—that stretched my brain cells too far, apparently. Thanks for that, chrpa and sue.
Finally got the other two endings! Who knew that…
…snow men were so creepy!
i think i'm real close to the end of empty prison but i'm stuck on the names!
i have the list of names and numbers. paul=8, but i can't tell what the pattern is beyond that. i've tried adding and subtracting in various patterns, but that doesn't yield single numbers from the other names.
i realized paul is 8th on the list. therefore tom, johnny, andy, and jake would be 6325. but using the order of names didn't seem to do anything either.
any hints?
Take another good look at those names and numbers, Krizpy.
It's not so much what's there as what is missing.
Each name has a string of the digits 0-9, but missing one number.
The missing number is the one you need for the solution.
If memory serves, you actually have a bit more to go—this game was surprisingly long.
ohhh thank you! thanks esp for not just giving the solution. that first hint was perfect :D
it's an interesting one! not too obscure but still challenging
regarding the 2nd end for empty prison...
ummm i'm sorry did i just get assaulted by a snowperson?? i no longer feel bad for pouring water on them in the other ending
as a sidenote a potential 4th ending could've been added using the danger sign's directions since this game likes to take clues from everywhere.
also
was the skull actually a clue? i think everything but that did something
anyway, once you get to the end point, getting all the endings is rather easy :)
Yes, that was a clue. Have already forgotten much of the game, but if memory serves…
…the skull being turned sideways alerts you to the solution for the right cell door being also turned at a 90º angle.
