Hi everybody, the Halloween Special is out!
Last week I thought that there won't be any Halloween Special since I had two games only...luckily, the situation has changed in last few days so here it is - the sixth edition of Halloween Special exclusively with Halloween themed games, mostly from top developers. It starts with Detarame Factory's short escape and then comes very good escape by a newbie color. After several games with a language barrier, Akatsuki no Yado created one without any, and then comes Esklavos' start of a new serie (hopefully). We have only one retro game - you know why - by Neat Escape, and the special closes horror game by DamZakk.

Mini Halloween
The surface of Detarame Factory's escape is minimalist as we get used to - but hides more than it seems. To escape, you need to figure out quite many codes and puzzles are good and also not too demanding. A perfect coffee break game.

Halloween
Color's minimalist escape seems simple and short, but it has layers and puzzles often with an interesting twist. The game is strictly linear and doesn't let you input a code without having all necessary hints, even if the code is correct. So, if you can't get a code right you are probably missing another clue and the solution is different, or you haven't found the additional clue yet (and you're right). Overall very good game!

Trick & Treat
Akatsuki no Yado's is quickly in and quickly out without a trouble, and you (probably) don't spend much time with it. It's another perfect coffee break game.

Grigore's Tales - Halloween
Judging from an intro where we meet Grigore with mesmerizing eyes, Esklavos has started a new serie. This is maybe the shortest game by the dev I've played, and a bit messy. Don't expect many puzzles, it's more a prank than a proper lenght game. Looking for the next one, though.

Retro Neat Escape's is spooky and you may get into situation 'game over'. No wonder, wandering around cementaries at nigh might be a dangerous business, especially when you disturb the deceased. Be careful what you do and ready for a defence!

Room of Halloween
The last comes the scariest and bloodiest game, DamZakk's escape (yes the one is the reason of rating this WE red). To escape, you need to be determined and at the end, merciless, and there is a possibility, that all that was in vain...when you finally get the key and open the door, there is a surprise behind them...

Color's Halloween
Can someone explain the three letter word puzzle?
I placed the paper with the three holes on the poster on the wall above the couch.
It gave me three letters.
a p n.
The a is pointing at the p and the p is pointing back to the a. The n is pointing to the right.
None of the three letters is available for solving the three letter puzzle. The only letters available in each field are b,d,e,m,o,r
In fact the only letter available in "happy halloween" is the letter e.
I even tried...
looking at the three letters a p and n, and seeing the alphabet as a whole. The a is pointing to the right so the letter would be b. The p is pointing to the left so the letter would be o. The n is pointing to the right so the letter would be o. Spelling boo. Makes illogical sense but NO this does not work either.
So frustrating.

I'm hopelessly stuck. Missing solutions for about 7 puzzles.
First scene
The dial puzzle right drawer of couch. I'm pretty sure it has something to do with the oven dials but those are inactive at this point.
Turn right.
The right cupboard door with 3 pumpkins that light up when pressed. Still missing items for cookie recipe.
Turn right.
Bottom drawer of oven where the wood goes.
Turn right.
All of them including the lower right cupboard where I figured out correctly the solution but have not found the second clue. And the one on the shelf with the three pumpkins that looks like switches.
I bet the bedroom has a bunch of clues. I'm just not seeing anything else or I'm seeing things and just don't comprehend what I'm seeing. A little nudge on any of these unsolved puzzles would be greatly appreciated. :)

In the first scene with the sofa, there is a down directional arrow. When clicked, it shows a Hint & Answer screen. It has the word Hint and a 1 inside a circle. Then the second field has text I do not understand, and the bottom field has the word answer.
I click on each field and it looks like 3 different texts appear but I don't understand what they mean.
The first scene is the only scene that has a down arrow.
Now it's time for the cupboard beside the bedroom door
the upper cupboard has three columns
did you check all three?
they are different...
in the first column are candies, then ghosts and then skulls
look around the room
in the scene with the exit door is a string with decorations
a skull is in the highest position
a candy lower and a ghost is in the lowest position
I had only clicked the first one (the candy) and then kept coming back several times and then I clicked the second one and realized what I was missing. There was another place that I made a similar mistake and that helped me figure out what the solution was.
I am now zooming through this cute and challenging game.
Thank you for posting your hint for this. I would not be surprised to see others stumble on that one.

Color's Halloween
That was a challenge. chrpa gave really good hints that will help others playing this game. I didn't read the description well enough and missed some important information. This game is linear. You must see ALL hints before you can solve a puzzle. I solved one but had not seen the second half of the hint and the game would not let me solve even though I got it right without the second hint.

Color's Halloween was good.
I got stumped in the same place as 4red3s, but got through with the hint from chrpa.
Took the old, tired brain a while to figure out exactly where to find the clue for the final puzzle.

Ummm, okay… Someone might have to explain to me that ending of Grigore's Tales - Halloween.
Am I correct in understanding that Dorin is a prankster, Catina is a ghoul (a "ghoulfriend"? 🙃), and the "ancient recipe" is veggies and rice?
Interesting. Did get tripped up by one item hiding somewhere you wouldn't expect anything to be. I hope to see another iteration of this one, preferably with click-to-advance dialog instead of timed. And no memory games like the music challenge—that and sliding puzzles are not fun!
LOL—that bad ending of Cemetery was quite…meaty. 😝
Room Of Halloween definitely deserved the red rating. Really did not expect that monkey near the end! 🙈 🤭

These were great! I loved Neat Escape and Mini Halloween - and Color's minimalist game proved that you don't need fancy graphics - just fun and inventive puzzles.

Esklavos
Looked like a nice game. I cannot get past playing the music notes in order. Four or five notes on two birds, two skulls and pumpkin in order. Get one wrong and it starts over. There is no way to skip this. This seems to be early in the game. I like memory match games but not memory sound games.
