Hi, Retro Weekend Escape is here!
...and it's (probably) the last one. Archives are depleted or inaccessible, and only few games are left which I'm going to publish in regular WEs if there's not enough new games. We have three escapes this week - two shorter by Vitamin Hana and MayMay, and then an enjoyable escape with good and clever puzzles by Neat Escape.
Have a good time and enjoy!
Hide and Seek
Vitamin Hana's retro game came just on time - it's autumn, leaves are changing colors and falling down, and if you have a sweet potato, you can bake it in a heap of dry leaves. Well you can bake any potato but I doubt you find any hint in it. There are few puzzles you need to solve before you get to the baking, but the main target is not a garden picnic. You're supposed to find three little girls.
The cursor is changing, no save button, one ending.
Easy Cleaning
MayMay wants you to clean a kitchen and that's not easy because it's locked. After you open it and check what needs to be cleaned you realize that not only you are supposed to make a detergent but also get ingrediences - and they are all inside the locked drawers and cabinets. It's time for solving puzzles!
The cursor is changing, no save button, one ending.
Coin Locker
In Neat Escape's game you got trapped in a locker room. You can't get your luggage, you can't get out and nobody's around. The only way how to escape is obvious. Explore the room, open as many lockers as possible, find few items, solve several good puzzles and out! The game has one ending only but it's a good one.
The cursor isn't changing, save option + autosave, one endings.
We love escape games, and our readers love talking about them and sharing hints! How about you? Let us know what you think, ask for clues, or help out other players in the comments below.
In Easy Cleaning, pay close attention to the status of things in your inventory. Some things get used multiple times.
The spoon with the key in its handle not only unlocks the kitchen drawer, it also is used to scoop the baking soda and water mixture from the bowl three times. If it doesn't work, make sure you have put some baking soda/water in it!
Coin Locker has a bit of node hunting in it.
The opening in the wall behind the first potted plant is easy to overlook, and I nearly never found the one chair whose seat can be viewed.
I still wanna live where Neat Escape does—beautiful scenery outside those windows!

The 3 digit puzzle
The 3 sets of green lockers. Some open some don't. None of the combination of open / close lockers works.
4 2 6 open - leaving 8 10 6 closed.
Consulted a video walk through and it doesn't make sense.
3 8 4

Coin Locker
Also keep in mind that this game is several years old - 2017 - the good old flash days. The video walk throughs are for the old game. There is a neat escape coin in the video that is not in the current unity game.
Coin Locker
Now I'm doubting myself. Maybe the neat escape coin was there and my mad clicking found it and I didn't know it. sigh
That clue from the green lockers was quite sneaky, but brilliant:
By clicking around and seeing which lockers open and which don't, you discover that the ones which don't open form a pattern of those three digits.
Using O for lockers which can be opened and X for those which can't, you get these patterns:
XXX XXX XOX
OOX XOX XOX
XXX XXX XXX
OOX XOX OOX
XXX XXX OOX
Removing the O's for clarity, you see:
XXX XXX X X
XXX XXX XXX
XXX XXX X
Hopefully my HTML trickery made that clear on your browser!
I had to load the game again to remember where that Neat Escape coin was.
It's in the potted plant sitting on the X table (the rightmost table near the big window).
I've found and used inventory items in other games before and not remembered them, so you're in good company. 😁
Ahhh
Thank you! You are right - brilliant.
