Hi, Retro Weekend Escape is here!
This week we're going retro after some time. After Vitamin Hana for a start, follow similar games by Primera and Maymay, all three colorful, joyful, simple but not oversimple, and intuitive. Masa is different. Their games are easily recognizable having their own style of puzzles often requiring thinking out of the box and basic knowledge of physics - however, trying everything on everything is legit too.
Have a good time and enjoy!
At the Rooftop
Vitamin Hana left you stranded on the rooftop. After several attempts to attract attention - needless to say, vain attempts - you accept the fact that you're on your own and you need get a chopper here or find a key from the promising door in the rooftop corner. The second option seems more probable but who knows, we're in a game, right?
The cursor isn't changing, no save button, one ending.
Get Ready for Fishing
In Primera's escape, you are supposed to follow exactly the game's name. That means to get an equipment for fishing, a small boat and an oar included, and overcome the locked yard door. They don't give you any list, just keep looking for hints, codes, open all cases and boxes, and when you figure out the last code which openes the gate outside you are ready! The cursor is changing, no save button, one ending.
Pizza!!!
As could be expected, MayMay's escape is related to pizza. You're locked in a set of rooms where you need to find various pizza toppings, a pizza seasoning, a pizza box and a pizza cutter. You also need to figure out several codes, of course. At the end of the game you have everything for perfect pizza except the pizza itself...but never mind you're out!
The cursor isn't changing, no save button, one ending.
Wood Workshop Escape
You are locked in a workshop and since you're in Masa's game, it won't be so easy to get ouf there. The game is linear so can't do some steps before you get relevant clue, and some hints are a bit vague as you're meant to deduce a solution by yourself. Just finding keys isn't enough though. The electric fretsaw isn't a decoration only and apart from getting it to work you will also use it!
The cursor isn't changing, no save button, one ending.

Vitamin Hana At the Rooftop
Can't play. Same reason.
Primera Get Ready for Fishing
Can't play. Same reason.
Masas Wood working game is playable.
I have managed to play all three. Does it matter what browser you are using maybe? Mine has been really fussy until now, pointing out that flash is ending soon, but today they all opened first click. I am using AVG secure Chrome.
I tried all three games in Edge, Chrome and Brave now and the games are running fine in all three browsers. Tried Firefox too and get the same info as you did. So, I've updated Firefox on my pc to vers. 84.0.2. tried again and voila! games are running. Update Firefox or try another browser.
can't wait for these.
Got all 4 games to run using Chrome.
Its realy interesting
Nice game! I really enjoyed it and enjoy the site in general! Thank you so much!
Firefox will not work with most of the retro games but Microsoft Edge does. I tried Edge a few weeks ago and it would not play flash games. It is nice to know that there is a way to play the decades worth of hard work on fun escape games. It was just one more blow from 2020. Maybe having access once again in 2021 is a good omen. :)
Have only tried Vitamin Hana and was able to play. Weird thing is, this is a new (used) laptop & it doesn't have Flash installed. Am using latest version of Google Chrome.
This game site loads the flashless version if you don't have Flash installed, so you can try disabling the plugin to make it load.
At the Rooftop
Exploration
There's a glass case with some nice miniatures, and a cupboard with two doors. All locked.
Turn right. An antenna extends from a room with a locked door, and there's a large dashed circle on the floor, and a small box on the right that's screwed shut.
Turn right. There's a binocular telescope that's missing something, a rolled-up note with country flags, and a metal cupboard that's also locked.
Colors
The clue for the left cupboard door (near the glass case) is
the light at the top of the antenna. Zoom in to watch it.
Blue, Green, Yellow
(5 4 2 clicks)
Take a pair of binocular lenses, then attach them to the telescope and look through to find some flags.
International
Use the clue from the flags (and note) to unlock the glass case:
The monuments (?) indicated by the flags appear on the
LRCCL
Take the key next to the Statue of Liberty, which has three colored buttons on it.
Then use that key to unlock the door. The path down is still blocked by iron bars, but you can take the metal plate with holes taped to the door.
Colors 2
Use the plate on the flag clue, then use that to unlock the Statue of Liberty.
The remaining stripes are
Red Blue White Blue Red White Red
(RCLCRLR)
Remove the statue to find a blue screwdriver.
Then use that to unlock the small box and find two batteries with numbers on them.
Numbers / International 2
Use the clue from the batteries to unlock the right cupboard door (near the glass case).
The - number, followed by the + number, is
843
Take a walkie-talkie and a dancer figurine.
Place the batteries into the walkie-talkie and then push it to summon a helicopter. You can now use the telescope to find flags.
Use the dancer where you took the statue, and use the flag clues to unlock the glass case again:
RCRLC
Numbers 2 / Escape
Some numbers appear, which helps you unlock the metal cabinet:
524
You find a large green sheet.
Unfold the sheet, and place it on the circle, and turn right until the helicopter lands there. Click it to escape!
Get Ready for Fishing
No use standing there and wishing.
Exploration
A locked house with anchor decorations has colored buttons on its door.
Turn around (left or right) to face a wall with a stain next to a tap that doesn't work, and a gate with a keypad lock.
Colors / Exploration 2
Use the anchor clue to unlock the house.
The colored tips (from left to right) are
Blue Red Green Blue Black Red
( ⌞⌝⌟ ⌞⌜⌝ )
The house has a locked cupboard (with three compartments), locked floor panel and locked wall box.
Turn around to face the doorway back, two locked safes, and three windows that you can close the blinds on.
Fish / Shapes
After closing the window blinds, step outside to look at the windows again.
Then use this clue to unlock the right cupboard door:
L5 R3 R4
(4 1 3 clicks)
You find three long paddles, and can take the middle one, and the other two just swing a bit to let you see a clue.
Use that clue to unlock the right safe:
3 triangles, 2 squares, 4 circles.
Take a reeled-up hose.
Water / Spin
Attach the hose to the tap outside, and click the nozzle to wash off the wall, revealing more cracks.
Use that to unlock the wall box:
FIE
Take a cooler box, and unlock that using the clue from
the anchors shown outside.
Match the tilts of the anchors by clicking the buttons
5 3 4 times.
Take a hook key.
Unlock
Unlock the top-left cupboard, which contains a fishing rod.
That gives you a clue for the bottom-left cupboard:
sea
Take an open tin of bait with a ring attached to it.
Numbers / Colors / Numbers
Use the clue from the tin to open the left safe.
With some careful visualization or a mirror, you can read the date on the lid:
03/15/16
Take an anchor, with more bait attached.
If you experiment with the items you find that you can
combine the first bait piece on the second and then attach the key to form the full fishing lure.
Flip that over to find a clue for the floor panel:
Pink(5) Blue(2)
Red(3) Yellow(1)
Take a boat.
Use the clue from the boat to unlock the gate:
Comparing it to the keypad, you find that "Boat" is actually
1309+
And you're out!
Pizza!!!
You may not agree with a pizza having any green on it, but it is what snails prefer.
Exploration 1 / Door
You start off facing a locked door. Under a picture and some ingredient-themed books, there's a cupboard with three locked compartments.
Use the clue from the books to unlock the door:
Matching the order of the colors gives you
Jalapeno, Tomato, Broccoli, Cheese
(2 4 3 6 clicks)
Exploration 2 / Door 2
Door's in the middle this time. The fridge on the left has eggs and a weird tomato. The shelves on the right seem to support three locked safes.
Use the clue from the tomato to unlock the door.
Orange(4) Dark-blue(6)
Green(1) Purple(2)
Exploration 3 / Puzzles on third screen
This door has a card reader. The shelf in the middle seems to hold up two locked safes. And the picture on the left shows a pizza that's been more than sliced.
You'll need clues from
the fridge and the pizza picture here.
For the left safe:
The crust/cut edges form the arrows
↘↗↙↖
For the right safe:
Match the egg faces by clicking
4 5 1 3 times.
Take a spice holder and a box cutter.
Sector / 3 safes
Use the clue from the pizza picture on the first screen to unlock the upper-right drawer there.
Count the peppers to get
5 green, 4 red
3 red, 2 green
(keep clicking past the red numbers to reach green)
You get a piece of cardboard with some markings on it.
Use the cutter on the cardboard and click to fold up a pizza box.
That gives you a clue for the bottom-left safe (on the second screen):
The right wall of the pizza box has a curly marking, and examining what's available on the buttons, you figure out that the top part of the marking needs to be entered on the left button.
2 1 5 clicks.
Take a bottle of hot sauce, and add it to your spice holder, and then click to find a code on the back of the bottles.
Now you can unlock the bottom-right safe:
The code is BURN.
You find a jar of veggies you can't take, and that's a clue for the top safe:
Match the colored vegetables shown by clicking the buttons
4 5 2 times.
You get a piece of cheese.
Escape
Use the clue from the safe to unlock the bottom-right compartment on the first screen:
The cheese holes are (large/medium/small):
MLSMLSM
Take a pizza cutter, and click to straighten out the clue on it, and then use that to unlock the top-left drawer:
The code is THIN
Take a member card, swipe it beside the last door, and you're out!
Wood Workshop Escape
Would you come here to work, shop or escape?
Exploration
You start off facing a door with an interesting clue attached to its lock, and three shelves covered in leaves. That seems a bit suspicious, so you search it a bit more to find
a key with a large flat handle.
Turn right to find a framed picture of squares and arrows you can take, a table with a locked drawer, a lamp that's too hot to pick up a thing from, a fretsaw that doesn't work yet and would be awkward to use anyway given the table's inconvenient shape, and a potted plant whose only purpose in this game seems to be to draw attention to the power socket nearby.
Turn right to face two shelves. The left one has locked drawers, while the right one has two cubes but one of those cubes is a locked box.
Turn right to find shelves with plants, a shelf with a clock and a light plugged into water, and a table with a printer with an error.
Swap / Shrink / Unlock
Swap the power plugs next to the potted plant (you'll need to have examined the lamp first).
Now the fretsaw works, and you can detach the lightbulb to get a metal key.
The wooden key would fit in the left shelf, if only the keyhole wasn't surrounded with a circular guard.
No problem: you can just use it on the fretsaw to make the handle fit.
The compartment contains a bottle of salt. But when you try to check the other door you find it won't move as its rail is bent.
The metal key is also useful to unlock the desk drawer, which contains a part that looks mysteriously key-like.
Ionize / Straight / Digital
Add the salt to the cylinder beside the wall flask. This turns on the lightbulb above, and thus the clock, which stops after a while.
(The science has nothing to do with woodworking, but it is cool anyway.)
You can't use that clue yet, but doing that helps you to
find a pair of pliers buried in the salt.
Use the pliers to straighten the rail on the stuck cupboard. You can now access a safe with a color clue.
Use the clue from the clock to unlock that safe:
The red, blue, green, yellow digits form the code
5310
You get a handsaw.
Handy / Prints
What can this saw do that the fretsaw can't?
It straightens the fretsaw table by sawing off the protrusion.
You find a hidden drawer with a black ink cartridge.
Now you can click the bottom-right corner of the printer and install the cartridge there. Hmm, all this printer needs now is some paper.
Place the squarish diagram into the printer, which prints out a letter in the middle of each square.
Use that clue to unlock the box next to the yellow cube:
There are actually two ways to fold the diagram into the cube, one with letters readable from outside, and the other (a mirror inverse) that puts the letters inside. Regardless of which you use, the chain of arrows runs through the same letters:
ADEBCF
(fill that in the box, anticlockwise from top)
You get another part of something.
Actually, there's one more thing the handsaw can do:
Open the handle up to find a third part.
Escape
Consider the three parts you found. The first just has a T-shape on top, the second has a wide U-shape and a rectangle, and the third is just flat.
Comparing this to the keyhole clue on the door, you find that these parts are in the wrong order and you can't rearrange them to fit. Unless…
Run the second part through the fretsaw to cut it in half.
Now you can assemble the key.
Follow the door clue by attaching the rectangle to the T first, then the flat piece, then the U shape.
Unlock the door and escape!
KK, problem towards the end of Workshop Escape
it said that i should have 3 pieces by now, which i did. but then it says i need to take the handsaw on one but there seems to be no way to cut that, plus there seems to be no way to assemble them correctly so i'm stuck. i tried vdeo walkthroughs and i'm still stuck. Please help.
Try the other tool?
The fretsaw is the one on the table. Exactly one of your pieces will work on that.
If that works,
you will have four key pieces that can be assembled together. There are only two ways they can all fit!
KK, as i mentioned
the handaw and the fretsaw refused to cut anything. and i tried putting them together but only 1 of the 3 would fit nt the other. This makes no sense.
That is very weird. In my testing it's still possible to do this even if you skip all the steps in between:
Start game.
Turn right.
Zoom in and click bulb.
Zoom in and click plug.
Back out, turn right, zoom in on cube, enter code.
Take key piece.
Back out, turn left, zoom in and use key piece on fretsaw.
That piece gets cut in two even with nothing else in your inventory.
I found out the problem.
the part i didnlt get yet was in that wooden key part. once i opened that i got the key working.
Can;t wait for mre walkthroughs from you kk.
