JayThe Great Bedroom EscapeYou might think that after escaping the kitchen only to find yourself locked in a living room, and then a bathroom, and then a basement, that we would learn not to get into tight situations such as these again. But then Mateusz Skutnik sends word of yet another installment in the Great Escape series and we're all lush with excitement. Somehow it just doesn't stand to reason. Or does it?

It could be that The Great Bedroom Escape is already a cozy place to be, or that the bedroom is relatively easy to escape, as most of these great escapes are. Therefore, the reward of solving the game is yours for the taking, or not. It's totally up to you. For me, the immediate gratification of solving puzzles and finding my escape is such a sweet diversion when I know success is close at hand.

Whatever the reason, we're sure you'll enjoy this next installment.

Great Bedroom Escape Walkthrough

1. First of all, go to the right set of drawers and grab the EARPIECE and TELEPHONE. Then, open the top drawer and grab the PEN.

2. Go to the left set of drawers and grab the ALARM CLOCK.

3. Turn left, and use the PEN on the metal strip. Pick up the ADORNMENT.

4. Turn left and grab the FANCY ROPE on the left set of curtains. Set the ALARM CLOCK on the windowsill and set it to 2:00. When the cat leaves, pick up the KEY.

5. Turn right and use the KEY on the closet door. Pick up the SUPER GLUE on the top left shelf.

6. Turn right once and look up. Use the TELEPHONE on the light. Look back down and use the SUPER GLUE on the EARPIECE to get a HOMEMADE SAW. Use the HOMEMADE SAW on the right bedpost to get the WOODEN LOG.

7. Turn right and use the FANCY ROPE on the WOODEN LOG. Use the new BATTERING RAM on the hanging telephone. Mouse over the telephone to bust down the door.

Congrats, you win! :)

A narrative walkthrough

An anonymous man was arrested earlier today as he was seen leaving Myrtle Auggh's bedroom. He is faced with many charges, including:

Stealing a pen, an alarm clock, an antique phone, and a curtain rope from the bedroom

Mercilessly frightening Mr. Auggh's pet cat with the aforementioned alarm clock and stealing the wardrobe key it was sleeping on

Swiping a decorative piece of metal from the front of Mr. Auggh's wardrobe by using the aforementioned pen as a screwdriver

Raiding the aforementioned wardrobe and stealing a bottle of Super Sticky Glue Extra Deluxe

Fashioning a saw out of the aforementioned glue, the telephone's earpiece, and the metal, and vandalizing Mr. Auggh's bed, obtaining a wooden log

Constructing a battering ram with the aforementioned log, the telephone, and the rope, and hanging it from the light fixture above, doing untold damage to the lightcord

Using the aforementioned battering ram to smash the door, rendering the doorknob useless

When asked for an explanation, the man claimed he "was just doing what was necessary to escape" and "didn't think whoever lived there would be this mad". His trial is pending.

and i already

used the pen on the closet

and i don't know what to do next!

@Cassandra

Look up. :3

Found out that

you can hook the phone up to the light on the ceiling and take the adornment off with the pen,

but I'm still lost.

Im stuck, done

The phone hanging from the roof, but just dangling

What to do next?

Reply

ok, so i used the

phone on the light,

and then

put alarm clock on the windowsill,

and

set it to the correct time,

and

got the key from under the cat!

Reply

yep, i'm stuck.

I have the phone hanging from the light and the metal removed from the cabinet, but I got nothing after that.

Reply

hi there
i'm stuck now
i have this:

home made saw - which is made from earpiece, adornment and super sticky glue from the closet

and

fancy rope

and don't know what now...

btw

i used old phone on the lightbulb (don't know why) and scared cat - use alarm clock on the window and set right time...

Reply

i too am stuck where everyone else is.
I love the visual style for these games and they're amusing and short, but i actually find them much more frustrating than Skutnik's other games. possibly because most of the time the solutions are really bizarre. this time though, i feel like i've tried to use every item on every conceivable thing, and nothing has done anything.

Reply

I just noticed that after

attaching the phone to the light

I can no longer

look up from any view

Otherwise, I am where everyone else is and can't figure out where to go next.
Love these games!

Ugh. Stupid!
I tried to

put the clock on the windowsill

but I was doing it on the wrong screen! Because I could zoom in on the cat, I assumed the dealings with it would take place on that screen. After that point, I had no troubles.

Reply

of course!

use the piece of wood you get from bed by using saw, combine it with fancy rope and attach this on the old phone hanging by the door...just one click then and you are out

finally :)

open the closet to get the glue and use it on the phone. This will get you the saw.

Then, you use the

saw on the bedpost, the rope on the solid wooden log, then the whole deal on the phone hanging from the ceiling.

Congrats, you're out! :3

Reply

I'm out! Yay! Short and sweet and oh so pleasurable.

Reply

If you use bed and saw to get log, then use string on that, you get a giant ram. Use that with the phone to knock off door handle.

Reply

A walkthrough for the rest of the game:

use superglue from the closet with the ornament thing you already have (that used to be holding the closet shut) to make a hacksaw

Once you have that...

use the hacksaw on the bed post

and then

take the piece of wood you get, combine it with the fancy rope

and then

take what you have made and hang it off the phone (that is hanging off the light)

and finally

click on your hanging batting ram to break down the door and escape!

Out!
Once I figured out

where to drop the alarm clock

it was smooth sailing.

I love this series!

Reply

YESS!!! I'm usually really bad at these and I have to wait for someone to post a walk through but with some tips from you other guys i figured out how to finish it!!
okay so I'm just gonna pick up where the rest of you guys left off. Most of you

got the key from the cat and have the old dangling phone from the light. You used the pen to get adornment from closet. So now use the key from the cat to open the closet, get the glue. Use the glue on the earpiece; use earpiece on adornment to get a homemade saw!! where do you use the homemade saw?

use it on the bed! that way you'll get a log. but what do you do with it? You use it on the rope you got from the curtains to get a (word for word) "kick-ass battering ram" =]. use the ram on the dangling phone by the door. click the ram and bam you're out!!

Reply

It's not a bad game, but I thought it was a little too random (try everything to see what works) to be really good.

Another great game from Skutnik, and right on the heels of the great Charger Escape!

That said... while I do love the Great Escape series and the Lisa-Frank-inspired games like Charger Escape and Escape Artist, I'm really ready for another adult release from him. I crave another Daymare Town or Submachine! I know they're much more complicated to create, but another installment of either of those excellent series would be worth five of his more family-friendly mini-escape creations.

Reply

Lame....I was totally stuck and it was just

figuring out what tiny spot to put the dang clock

The battering ram was pretty awesome. I got stuck on the clock. I couldn't understand the clock

I feel like we need a dissenting opinion here. I really like escape games for the most part, but this series is just terrible. None of the steps are even remotely logical. It's all just a matter of trial and error and clicking everywhere -- Oh of course, all I needed to do was to use the dynamite with the banana to pulverize it, then spread it on the screwdriver so the monkey would take it through the secret door and....etc etc etc.

And not only that, but the graphics are pretty poor as well. Oh well, but what do you expect.

Reply

Another fun game from Pastel Games.

The only problem that I had with it was that I tried to

construct the saw while looking at the ceiling, but when i looked down, all a could see was the image of the completed saw, and I had to restart.

Reply

I love this series of games...I always play them when they're posted. But...I can't help but get frustrated at the solution in this one. I mean, how am I supposed to know that the

telephone should be used on the lightbulb and that the alarm clock had to SIT on the window sill.

Anyways, lots of fun, hope to see the next one.

Reply

Oh my gosh...Tonypa and Mateusz in one week? ONE is enough to make me giddy, so TWO??!!??!! It's game nirvana.

Reply

I love the silliness of the uses of things in these, but I am a little miffed about something. I couldn't figure out

what time to set the alarm clock for

so I had to use a walk through. Where was the clue? Was it complete guesswork? Neither walkthrough gave a hint, just the answer.

Reply

Sarah, there's another clock on the wall. You have to synchronise your chronometers, as it were.

And make sure you keep making the distinction between Mateusz Skutnik and Pastel Games! Mateusz just did the engine for these; artwork and scenario and stuff is down to the other team members. All credit to them!

Sarah:

Did you see another clock in the room?

Reply

Sonic

yeah, I read the time on that clock differently

I'm sure I had my glasses on, but I've had the flu, so maybe it looked more skewed because my brain is loopy!

Reply

Cool game. A bit too easy, but fun. I only needed a hint on what to do with the pen, I didn't really think a pen would act like a screwdriver.

Reply

i didn't like this as much as I did the others in the same series. I found this one to be quite illogical and i had to cheat several times e.g. in regards to

where to use the saw, where to set the clock etc.

thankfully it's still relatively little pixel hunting, which annoys me the most.

Reply

The alarm clock won't sound and because of that, I can't do anything else.
Exactly how long till the alarm clock sounds?

Reply

sky121 for the alarm clock

you set the clock to 2:00 and it will sound and wake up the cat.

Reply

YAY! I finished. Really weird, but it's still another great game.

Reply

Loved the game but I admit i needed help.

You get the clock the phone the fancy rope (from the curtain) the pen.
Pen gives you the piece off the closet
take the phone attach it to the light above
put the clock on the window and set it to 100 and scare the cat and you get a key
use the key on the closet and you get glue
use the glue and the phone and the closet part to make a saw
use the saw on the bed post you get a piece of wood
use the wood with the fancy rope and you get a battering ram
use the battering ram with the phone hanging down and you escape!!

Reply
Anonymous January 16, 2009 6:37 PM

about the clock:
if you set the clock to the time on the other clock in the room which is at

2:00

, it will sound immediately
hope this helps

I found out how to beat it! Here's how:

1.get alarm clock
2.get both parts of the phone
3.click first drawer underneath the phone to get the ink pen
4.get the rope from the curtain
5.place the alarm clock on the window ledge and set time to two o'clock (or whatever it is for you, for me it is two o'clock)
6.get key from under the cat
7.use the pen to get the adornment from closet door off and obtain it
8.open closet door with key and get super glue
9.put the super glue on the headpiece part of the phone and you will get a saw(your ardornment will disappear)
10.click anywhere at the top to get to the ceiling and attach the phone base to the light and go back
11.go to the bed and use the saw to saw off a part of the wooden bed board legs
12.attach string to the log and attach that to the phone
13. click the log and you are free!
