Rinnogogo's latest game is about finding the red shoe, obviously, but later in the game. At the beginning you just look around for items and hints. As usual. And as usual, we got a beautiful and poetic escape game.

redshoe5.pngYou find yourself on the outskirts of a small town - or so it seems - and you are only few steps from the eerie gardens surrounding it. You can't leave the town yet. There are two gates leading out and both are locked, so your first objection is to find the key/code from the door to start exploring the gardens and find out what's up with the red shoe.

When you get out into nature - you can still return if you want to - you still have a lot to do and also meet someone alive. The girl/fairy has one shoe only...what she wants from you isn't the second one, surprisingly, but something completely different. In the need of the shoe is someone else...for the first time in a Rinnogogo game I had a slightly uneasy feeling and also the impression, that besides their talent for charming and sweet games, maybe Rinnogogo has a talent for creating horror games.

redshoe6.pngThe gameplay is fluent and the hint system very good. You can take screenshots too. The game has autosave.

Nice little jaunt. I wonder if…

…Rinnogogo meant Kobe instead of Kibe. If so, they might be talking about the dam on the Nunobiki Reservoir in Kobe. It's quite a beautiful area!
