Welcome to the Roundup 73 - Retro with four games! Starting with this Roundup, the numbering changes. Robin Vencel has started releasing some chapters only for those who support him on Patreon so the numbering is not consistent. The bonus chapter is also no longer playable because we don't have we don't have all the codes.
Note: If the games don't load in your browser try Chrome.
Hi everyone,
this is my last post for a long time, maybe the very last. I've been contributing to JIG for over six years, and it's getting harder and harder to find good browser games, and I have less time to do it. I've never been a JIG employee, everything I've done has been on a volunteer basis, and at the moment I need to concentrate more on my job and other hobbies, and also occasionally actually play a game and not think about how to finish it as quickly as possible so I can post it. Thank you for coming to play the games I found and for the nice comments!
I loved doing it all. Have a great day!

Stage 258
We have arrived in Japan and so your first task is to procure a katana and a scabbard, and then to attend to your main task, namely to get hold of twenty scrolls undoubtedly containing wise words. The old tormentor is waiting patiently for them.
Stage 259
In the industrial chapter you need to find twenty chips for the robot, and to do that you need to figure out how the pipelines running through all three scenes work. What happens in the pipeline is controlled by three levers.
Stage 261
When you manage to get to the top floor of this strange space you will find a man, perhaps a monk, who does not look friendly. He is musically inclined though. Finding his guitar isn't exactly easy because it's very well hidden but rewarding!
Stage 262
This time you will play with stones and load the pedestals. Look at the stones well because they are not the same and the difference is important. The hint looks complicated but it is not...
Awww, chrpa, thank you so much for keeping this beloved site going after it looked like it was finished. I miss the heyday of JiG & I'm sad to think there may be no more Wednesday joy... but I'm grateful for all you have been doing. Wishing you well!
Forgive the bluntness, but what exactly is happening wth JayIsGames? Is the site about to cease operations? Has there been a change in management? If chrpa was operating on a volunteer basis, as stated in his message above, then who's getting the money for all those banner ads and autoplay videos we have to put up with?
I think your loyal users (and there are a lot of us, some of whom just lurk and comment on the rarest of occasions) deserve a bit of explanation as to what's happening with the site. So far, we've been told over e-mail (yes, some of us are still subscribed after all these years) that the site is being revamped to improve its content offerings. So far, that appears to be little more than a series of gaming-related articles (two of which don't even have links to the games described in the article. (Namely, 15 Browser Games Students Try During a Class Break" and "5 Cat-Centric Video Games You'll Love".)
I dare say you're losing sight of what traditionally made JayIsGames such an enjoyable place to hang out—fun escape games, lively conversations, and text-based walkthroughs for those of us who just couldn't figure out that one devilish clue. We know quality escape games are in short supply these days, but they do still exist. Finding them isn't impossible, and we certainly wouldn't be against a "retro" feature to revisit older games when new ones are in short supply. There are always interesting things to keep your loyal audience engaged, even if it isn't the newest tomoLaSiDo or Amajeto—you might have to hunt for them, but they're there.
And what possibilities the JiG site holds! How about hosting an escape-room equivalent of Ludum Dare? Or a contest for the best Room Escape Maker game? Free games for your users, and free publicity for the JiG site. Most of us are here for the escape games, but there is so much else you could keep us coming back with. Soooooo many things you could do here, if you open your imagination a bit.
I hope any response will be here on the site, not over the e-mail newsletter (I imagine some users no longer have access to the address they signed up with, and I'm sure all your loyal users would like to hear on the site itself what your plans are with JiG and what we may expect in the future.
Much respect, and I anxiously await your answer.

Thank you very, very much! And maybe there will be more WE because I sent the site owners information and links. We'll see.
To be honest jF's comments get my vote. JIG is no longer the site it used to be and that's a real shame. I can cope with the adverts, but the pop up videos just don't do it for me. Mobile Monday and Weekday Escape were something to look foreward to, but alas no more. The new article based format is just plain boring, if I want such content I can find it elsewhere.
To the new owners of JIG - have a care what you do otherwise you might lose a load of visitors (me included).

Many many thanks to you, Chrpa, for keeping JIG alive! It couldn't have been easy finding the time to contribute to this site (you've been a one-man-band for some time now!) but knowing it was a labor of love on your part made it a bit easier I'm sure. All the best to you in your future journeys -- and keep on gaming!
Thank you so much for your words (and for all the comments). And yes for a while it looked like JIG was turning into chrpa's blog...I never intended that. It has been a big and important part of my life for over six years but a lot has changed and I have been getting more and more tired and the joy of playing has been fading for months. It was time for a change. I'm grateful that I've had the opportunity for six years to share (mostly) good games and create articles - among other things, I've found I enjoy and am good at graphic design - and I hope I've been making people happy by doing so. I wish everyone the best of luck in gaming and in life.
Thank you very much. Most of us are here for the escape games.
