McPixel Xmas Special

Ah, the holidays. Nothing says Santa like a ton of explosives, amirite? In Sos Sosowski's short but frantic point-and-click puzzle game McPixel Xmas Special, there's a bomb in each itty-bitty level, and our hero has only twenty seconds to find and somehow neutralize it, which would probably be a lot easier if he didn't operate on bizarro logic. To play, just click to interact. Chances are you'll need to experiment a whole lot before you win since the solutions and actions are deliberately silly, or even raunchy or often violent. When a level ends, it automatically cycles to the next one, which can be annoying if you just want to replay one in particular until you win, but them's the breaks. If you like this, be sure to support the developer and check out the original full game, which is available for iOS and Android as well as your computer, and has 100 levels plus free DLC!

If you're a game designer and you don't design a way for me to mute your music then you are a garbage monster and there is bitter enmity between thee and me for THE REST OF OUR LIVES.

The music is a little repetitive. A mute button would have been nice. It seemed really weird at first but I ended up enjoying it once I figured out some things.

There seems to be two ways to clear each section, one "silver way" (defuse the threat no so neatly) and one "gold way" (elegantly solved the issue).

AWESOME all there is to say

Are you sure? I remember in the original game that a level number turned gold when you'd beaten it AND seen all the possible failures.

hopefully a walkthrough is in the works :)

Could be, I haven't played the previous works :) And on the Christmas sleigh level I didn't open the rightmost gift before getting the correct solution, and yet still got gold.

I'm not sure this is the sort of game that warrants a walkthrough. You just try everything and hope the next thing you try will bring success.

I can't believe people are giving this game less than 5 mushrooms.

I mean, you can punch santa in the face, beat kids over the head with a fish, piss on an alien, throw santa off his sled, get eaten by an alligator, tussle with a christmas tree, shove a bomb in some jerk kid's face, and much, much more!

What more can you ask for in a Christmas game?

Incredibly odd, but entertaining! I agree that the music was kinda annoying, made moreso by the fact that you can't mute it. There were some outcomes that were so daft, I did laugh out loud, so I think the game succeeded overall!

Paul, this game doesn't really require a walkthrough because there is no logic to any of the solutions. It's just a process of elimination - you try out enough combos, and you'll get it! Plus, part of the fun is watching the things that don't work!

ok,no problem.

Ah, there's an alternative meaning to a "gold" ending that isn't in reference to

saving the day with urination

?

The reason some people may give this game less than 5 mushrooms is because it can be rage-inducing, stuck in a loop with not-so-clear directions and loud repetitive soundtrack. I mean, one of the silver endings appears to be

letting some snot-nosed kid throw you at Santa, 'saving the day' by letting your butts extinguish the lit fuse?

I mean it is a very pixellated game, so I could be wrong here.

Walkthrough time!

There are 2 ways to finish the game. A silver medal and a golden medal.

I only found the silver way.

1.

Click on santa

2.

Click bomb, click boy

3.

Click orange boy with shirt

4.

click santa

5.

move to fire, click on fire

6.

Click on string of lights above bomb

I don't think silver/gold refers to the solution. In my first playthrough, I tried a bunch of things and got gold for half the levels. I played through again, repeating the previous solution for each level, and got silver every time.

The silver/gold distinction is probably more in line with what SonicLover suggested.
