What a beautiful game we've got from Ichima Coffeedo! It is the complete renewal of five years old Room 17 and it's very well done indeed. Two weeks ago was the game released for mobile users, and now it's available for pc users, too. It has all what a good escape should have - enjoy!
You find yourself locked in an apartment and your fist objective is to explore the room. Properly explore, because this is one of the games which have slow start - you may have to go around the room more than once to get a hint or an item to be able to solve the first puzzle. Then the escape continues smoothly and hints, items and solutions follow one after another, until you get stuck, eventually. Or not...depends on your observation and patience.
We've got more than the living room where you begin and the first door you open leads to another room of the apartment where you can happily continue your escaping. The game autosaves and has well done hint system.
Ichima Coffeedo's escape is overall very pleasant and its only flaw is that the end comes too early. The graphics are good looking, the puzzles have well balanced difficulty and are original, and the soothing soundtrack adds to the gaming experience. A pure joy to play!
So great to get a long escape game with amazing graphics and puzzles. Thank you for this post!
The browser version has a fatal bug which can be triggered if you do something earlier than the game expects you to.
The game expects you to find the knob for the television and turn it on before you rock. If you have not turned on the television and attempt to rock, it's possible to trigger this bug.
When this happens, rocking a few times can cause the game to softlock, as it doesn't know what to do in this unexpected condition. The onscreen prompts for "rock the rocking chair" or "get off the chair" disappear, but nothing happens after that. There are no images on the television, and the panel beneath never opens. You can't get out of the chair, and are forever stuck.
The bug can be triggered on any new game or on a reload of your autosave.
Hopefully the developer can fix this!
