JessEskkapeeEskkapee is a room escape game pared down to its most basic elements: you've got a TV, a computer, a couch, a handful of items to collect and four white walls. The graphics, while not unappealing, are nothing special (they look a little bit like marker drawings crossed with watercolors, actually). The gameplay is similarly minimalist; up until the final puzzle, barely any challenge is presented.

Still, that final puzzle does require you to exercise the ol' noggin, and sometimes it's nice to play something so straightforward; provided me with an ego boost, certainly. You won't find any blindingly brilliant puzzles in Eskkapee, or be dazzled by the room's beauty, but the game will nonetheless provide a few minutes of satisfying room escape fun.

Walkthrough Guide

(Please allow page to fully load for spoiler tags to be functional.)

Walk through:

Click the two cushions on the pink sofa to gain a remote control and a blue key.

Go left and receive a battery and a screwdriver. Leave the locked drawer for now.

Go left. Use the blue key on the locked cupboard. Receive another battery and a red key.

Go right and use the red key on the bottom of the orange drawer. Receive a cord.

Go left and use the cord on the computer. This turns it on.

Look at your remote control. Turn it over and use the screwdriver to remove the back cover. Put your batteries in.

The TV shows what the camera sees. To find the password for the computer, you need to aim the camera at the right cushion when it is up. Use the TV to see the password.

Enter password in computer and leave.

A disappointingly short but fun game.

A little short, but I'm not complaining, as it was possibly the first ever escape game I completed with no help at all (!). Not too bad, and I do like the feeling of rapid progression.

Doesn't load for me? I see an empty white space where the game should be..

Short, easy, but not annoyingly so. I liked it.

@beekay: you and i are in the same boat, man. haven't completed an escape game, much less any other type of point-and-clicker without help since the days of putt-putt, freddie fish, and spy fox. ah, good times...

I am SO GLAD you added this weekly column...many weeks, I have to wait for Wednesday to have anything to play (too many platformers and schmups)! Three fun little games to start my morning...WHEEEEEEE!!!

Fun and easy. Me like.

Although

The last puzzle was kind of a stretch, what with the conviniently hovering pillow'n'all.

I adore the weekly escape column! It's my favorite genre covered by JIG, and it was always a bummer when weeks would go by with no new escape games. I'm so glad you've started doing this--bravo!

It was kind of short, but fun as well.

Lol. Caught me out this one did. I typed the password into the computer then spent the next five minutes clicking around the computer desk thinking a key must have been released somehow.

Wow, that took me about a minute!

And I didn't even find the puzzle hard! But a nice little game. It's nice not having resort to a walk through!

Hopefully more to come...

Finally! A point and click game that is straight forward enough and simple enough to get through without a walk through. Thank you!

Lol, Maybe I'm dumb but I don't see the password :O, I just see the purple cushion

Game doesn't seem to load...

The game loads for me just fine, just checked.

Yeah . . . I can't get the password, either.

I tried every combination of levitating cushions and camera positions I could think of, but I can't get the bloody thing to show up.

Can anyone spoil the actual password, or does it change every time?

About the password.

You have to aim the camera downward and a little to the left.
Raise the seat cushion and IMMEDIATELY move one screen left to see the password number on the tv. It disappears very quickly. Also, it changes every time you play. The hardest part is moving quickly enough to see the number.

The best part of this game was the

ending "well done" animation!
