Have no idea how to complete the level in which you are required to have 2k of iron and no way to purchase iron....???
Hi Angela,
I'm not sure I can find the specific level you mean, but...All resources should be either available through trade or via a factory build/upgrade. If you have "tutorial" checked in the options, Leo should appear on screen at the start of a level to explain how to access new resources, too.
On the later levels, you'll need to trade on other markets to get olives, tomatoes, and other items that the iron seller wants. Then trade those olives to get more iron.

Angela is referring to level 44. I am having the same issue. Other than an occasional ship defeating, I have not figured out how to get past 300 iron. Any assist would be great. So close to finishing the game, but can't move further.
[I'll see what I can find out and will get back to you soon. ~elle]
Did anyone get gold on 37 yet? I am always about 10 seconds too late... any suggestions?
Mary and Angela,
Tips for level 44:
You don't have to build any factories at first. Just have at least one Tesla Tower for fighting pirates.
Be quick to trade your oysters, caviar and lobster on the market for wood, gold and iron. (This is the market on the right side of the screen.)
To trade, click on the icon for the resource you want to sell (they're on the right side of the screen) then click on the items your want to sell (on the left side of the screen).
Keep your fishermen well-satisfied with the payments they demand, and they'll soon have you full to capacity in marine goods.
Defeating pirates will often yield pearl necklaces; you might get six pearl necklaces without ever building the factory to make them. With a keen eye on the air and the horizon, you'll spot pirates before they can do any damage.
After you've stocked up on iron, wood and gold via trading, if you still don't have enough pearl necklaces, go ahead and build the pearl, ring, and necklace factories. You will need to trade again to get the ring parts, but you'll only need six, so it's easily done.
Be aware of sharks, too, as they start swarming later in the level.
The trick to getting a gold medal is a combination of luck (in what the pirates drop) and how quick you are to click.
If you think you're encountering a problem or that game is not working properly, please contact Big Fish customer service.
Please let me know if I didn't explain that well enough.

@ Jake -- What has been your strategy for level 37? You're closer to gold than I am . . Maybe we can help each other!
Elle,
I don't think you are looking at the correct level. The level that Angela is referring to, you can't trade for the iron, it is blocked. It says something like no day trading or something like that. And the only way that I have found to get any iron is by destroying the pirates ships and hot air balloons, but you only get 15 iron at a time... that is if you are lucky enough to get any iron. Most generally it is either gold or wood.
Any other suggestions???
Leona
Leona,
It says on the left side, but ignore it since it's for something else.
If you click on the trade ship on the right side of the screen, you can then select the iron icon (all icons are lined up in the top right corner of the trade screen).
Once you make that selection, you should be able to trade fish and such for iron.
I hope that helps!
elle
I'm having a problem on Level 16 where one of the goals is to get 1K of wood. When I click on the ship to purchase more wood, there is not even an option available to buy more wood. Is this a glitch, or am I missing something? Thanks!
Sue,
Selling goods to get wood on level 16:
Gather up a store of fish and lobster before clicking on the market ship on the right side of the screen. Then, click on the wood icon. As long as you have fish and lobster to trade for wood, the option to "sell" will be there. (You sell your goods and they pay you with wood, gold, iron, etc.)
This is true for all levels... without the goods the trader wants to trade for, the option to "sell" to him or her will not be shown.
Hi
Having same problem. Right trading ship only has traders for gold and wood (even once collected fish and lobster)not iron. The left trading ship says you can't trade for iron as not allowed during day. Also made cavier pate, cake, salad, pearls, pearl rings and necklace but no metal trader came up.
Hope you can help
Sam
Hi everyone,
If you have been experiencing an issue with Youda Fisherman, please follow Big Fish Game's instructions on how to uninstall and reinstall a game.
There is a new update to Youda Fisherman as of 9/26/2011 that should solve several issues after level 40.
Thanks :)
elle
Big tip for everyone, you can upgrade your tesla towers, cargo ships, and other defenses. In your blueprints screen, go all the way to your right. I didn't realize you could upgrade these until I went for the "upgrade all" award
level 16. there is no option to trade for wood. says he is taking a break. impossible to get to 1k of wood?? super frustrated please help!!!!
Hi JenTho,
Please make sure you're running the most recent version of the game (see three posts up for details).
When you first start level 16 (with tutorial on in options), the trader will say "Come see me any time" and his icon will show in the right corner.
Click the market building below his icon to see that you have three trading options...gold, wood, and iron. But first you'll need to build up resources: fish, lobster, and so on.
When you're ready, trade for wood:
Click on the market building.
Select the icon for wood (middle icon on right side of the window).
On the left side of the trade window, select which resources you are willing to give for wood.
Click on "sell" when you're ready to sell your fish products for wood.
Remember that, if pirates attack too much, your fisherman and traders will "take a break." So keep your eyes out for those pirate balloons and ships so you can use your tesla tower to prevent the attacks before they begin.
Nope actually the wood guy comes out and says "i know you need me but i need a break. trade with other markets for resources"
well....there is absolutely not one place i have found to acquire any wood whatsoever!!
[JenTho, did you download the latest version? There is an update as of September 26th so if you purchased the game before that, there may be a patch needed for your game. ~ elle]
nope i got it on gamehouse a few days ago. theres gotta be something wrong or i am missing something. ive tried several times...but i still find nothing for wood.
[Sorry, but I think you're going to have to contact the site from where you purchased the game. It sounds like you may have an issue with the game. -Jay]
Use the vessel on the upper right to trade your fish and stuff for gold. Then take your gold and use the vessel on the upper left to exchange gold for wood.
Has anyone had trouble with level 25? Its the first level with the dark clouds rolling in, and the game slows down so much that I can't do anything. It won't allow me to click boxes or the lightning icons to dispel the short circuiting.
I'm sorry to anyone having trouble with Youda Fisherman. I haven't experienced any problems with the game; it's possible there's a software conflict for those who are having difficulties. Please contact customer service on the site where you purchased that game.
If you got the game from Big Fish, they're very helpful in resolving issues:
Big Fish Games Customer Service: Technical Issues
I just bought the game and must of missed the instructions on trade. I have just encountered the level where I need to acquire olives but seem to be only able to trade for wood. It keeps saying final task but I can't see how I can trade for the final 7 olives.
Jayme,
I think you have to trade tuna to get olives, from the market ship on the left.
If you play in tutorial mode, Leo comes on at the beginning and end of levels to give advice on how to trade, when to upgrade your Headquarters' business complex, and so on. Some of those Headquarters upgrades are essential to success in the timed levels.
Also look at the blueprints... there are helpful upgrades available from time to time.
Yes even i have the same problem but the year this issue was posted was on 2011 and this year is 2018.
Still 7 years people like me are playing this game.
Well it is a testament to how good this game is.
I havn't found any solution for this problem, whatever you have written is the exact same thing for me too.
The level is 44.
There really is no way to trade Iron from a ship from which we buy. Maybe it is a software glitch, probably i download another copy of this game and try it. But for now, the problem is the same.
