Far, far from Skid Row, in a make-believe land (somewhere that's green,) lives a meat-eating plant in a terra-cotta pot. Now this plant is no ordinary meat-eating plant, for it can use its powerful jaws to grab ahold of ceiling or floor and pull itself along. Use the mouse to move the plant through 15 unique levels in Feed Me, a new platform game by Nitrome.

I like the game. The music can get a tad annoying after a while though (but there is a big button in the top right hand corner to turn it off - so no complaints). I really like the variety of levels and colourful cute style. It can be sluggish at times though, but I just turned quality to medium and it sped up without really affecting the graphics.

It's a pretty fun game, but I ran into a glitch when i somehow grabbed through a wall and went through. It took me from the beginning of the level right to the end.

Liked the game, great idea... but
The scrolling is a bit jerkey (I have a new dual cpu pc... so no excuse.)
Also I fell though the platforms and disapeared off the screen too many times. Meaning I had to restart the level.
Also the damn inscts are very frustrating to grab, half the time with the angry ones it just misses even though I am right on them and it makes them mad and then they bite me.
Good game, shame it lacks polish.

Not too bad a game, finished it and got #2 on high score (as of 8/2 @ 2pm EDT) 42757 points. Woo hoo!

Pretty fun game. I had to put my quality settings to low so it would run smoothly though. You can run it on Flash Player 7, but none of the text will show up anywhere in the game. Music gets a little annoying after awhile, but its not super annoying or anything, so I can tolerate it.

That was a truly innovative game ! Good find.

Lacks some polish, bugs are hard to grab, but so far (2nd stage beaten) it shows a lot of originality and there is a definite cuteness to it.

Why are all the cute games the ones with originality? Eets, Cave Story, Within a Deep Forest....

Speaking of which, all those games install on your PC. It'd be nice if this one did, too, with some added functionality or summat.

Good find here. Gonna work my way up that scoreboard...

Guh. I'm at 13th with 28k, but man. The one thing that gets me about this game is the horrible collision detection.

Other than that it's a decent game, but it's so damn hard to make it through later levels at all, especially that vine one because it's so easy to get stuck "inside" a vine, not able to grab outside of it.

Innovative? I'm reminded very much of Bionic Commando, a game that came out on a few Nintendo platforms in the 80's and 90's. (It's kind of hard to understand the gameplay from the pictures on wikipedia but take my word for it, it's similar.)

My only problem is that the physics is misleadingly inaccurate at times, with the occasional graceful swing turning much too quickly into freefall...oops.

ARG I had just taken a few minutes for this thing to load on dialup and then in switching back to the game window I accidentally closed it somehow. Now it has to completely reload? Silly Miniclip, it does this every time.

reminded me of, new rolling umubushi.(or something...)
just search jayisgames for it.

The music and map reminded me an awful lot of Croc for Playstation and GBC

I was expecting more realistic physics, like one were we could actually use momentum to move, although its a good game concept.

You can click and let go and click again
continuously, and in different spots if you may, to keep
your neck extended to eat insects

I kind of liked the music; it reminded me of my old-school gaming days on my trusty Commodore 64. :)

I keep coming back to this game, my favorite in quite a while.

Can somone help me with a walkthrough or something? I'm stuck on level 5! I know, it sounds like I'm bad at the game, but I really need help!

Reply

Answer me! please! somebody! are you guys even there?

Reply

By the way, the reason I keep losing is because I keep running out of time.

I'm here, Wheeler! =)

Yes, the time thing can be a problem if you don't yet have a handle on the mechanics.

What I found that works for me is to reach again while in mid-air to grab at a higher ledge. It's tricky, but once you get the hang of it (har har). ;)

I just went through level 5 again, with 14 seconds to spare. Yeah, it was close. You'll have to make sure you get all the insects you can, too, as that will increase your maximum stretch length and help you complete levels quicker and easier.

Good luck with it. It's a great game once you get a feel for the control.

Reply

Not to be rude or anything, but thats not the problem. that is, other than the time factor, which you mentioned. But my REAL problem is, is that long stretch close to the end, when i try to cross it, it takes so long that i only have 20 or less seconds by the time i reach the end. ( sorry about that run-on )

Reply

Also, it's a good thing i don't have sound, being that there is a TON of sound-related coments.

Reply

One more thing. Remember when you said that Yes, the time thing can be a problem if you don't yet have a handle on the mechanics, thats when i tried going through earlier levels, and still no sucess. Uh... help?

Being able to move rapidly with the plant is vital to later levels. The best way I can explain the method is click so your head shoots out roughly parallel to the floor (or to whatever surface you're trying to move across ceiling, floor, anything) and then when you're near your neck's maximum extention, click the floor right below your head. You'll shoot along at positively un-plant-ly speeds, and if you time your release right you can pick up a bit of extra distance sliding at the end.

Reply

Sorry for bieng rude if I am again, but I already know about the sliding. My real problem is ( I repeat ) isthe long stretch near the end of level 5. Please help!

Finished the game with 53301 points (3rd)- I need to go back to earlier levels and improve my time bonus now. :)
That was easy!

Hey!!!! Who erased my data???? Jay,is the data even eraseable???? Ahh who cares? I LOVE THIS GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!

For those who have trouble getting the first watering can on level 5, here is how.

Go through the wall on the right of the can(I know this looks impossable, but if you don't believe me, try it out for yourself).

Hope this helps.Post a comment if it does, please.

I have noticed a little glitch in the game. If you are falling to fast to reach a moving platform, then start rapidly clicking around your plant. This will slow your motion so much that you can practically stop in midair and float.
