Fireboy and Watergirl 3: The Ice Temple
Does your right hand know what your left hand is doing? More importantly, can you make your right hand and left hand do two very different things with precision, all while putting your brain to work solving puzzles? That's the challenge of Fireboy and Watergirl 3: Ice Temple, by Oslo Albet. Your left hand controls Watergirl. Your right hand controls Fireboy. Together, through the magic of your keyboard, they will platform their way around 36 chilly levels.
If you haven't played the series before, you'll want to start with the two beginners tutorial levels, which will explain the basics. Use [WASD] for Watergirl, and [arrow] keys for Fireboy. Some elements, such as light rays and angled mirrors, are carry overs from previous installments and are explained in these tutorial levels. For those familiar with the series, there is an ice tutorial to explain the new hazards. Ice slows down Watergirl and speeds up Fireboy, but Watergirl can go up icy slopes while Fireboy cannot, and neither can jump on icy surfaces.
The overall goal of getting Fireboy and Watergirl to exit together through their marked doors remains the same, as does the importance of grabbing the red and blue gems wherever you can, and of course, you'll want to do it as fast as possible. The number of gems you grab and how fast you do it combines to give you your score. Even if you're not ambidextrous, most of the levels can be completed playing one character at a time, although naturally that way is slower. You can also make this game into an unofficial local multiplayer game if you can get a friend to control one half of the keyboard. Laptops with external keyboards plugged into them work especially well for playing as a team; one person takes the laptop keyboard, the other the external one. Not that I have any reason to know that. Ahem.
Play all the Fireboy and Watergirl games:
The fact is that even if you do cheat use out-of-the-box thinking, the puzzles are a fiendish challenge all their own. Some levels require careful planning, others precise timing, still others adroit platforming skills; many, especially in the later levels, require all three. But the game's snowflake-shaped level select menu grants the player access to many different levels quickly, which allows you to try various levels any time you find yourself getting stuck or frustrated. Fireboy and Watergirl 3: Ice Temple is as much of a gem as the ones you collect in it.

Fireboy and Watergirl 3 Walkthrough
General Info
Click the green gem at the bottom of the window in every level to view the in-game menu.
The in-game menu pauses the game, shows a counter of all gems collected, and has the options to restart the level or return to the main menu.
At the main menu, click Play to view the level tree.
Move the cursor over "Show Level Numbers" to reveal the numbered order of all the levels in the tree from 0 to 36.

Move the cursor over "Show Times" to view the time limit for each level.
Use the W, A, and D keys to navigate Watergirl.
Use the arrow keys to navigate Fireboy.
Watergirl will die if she touches lava pits, while Fireboy dies if he touches water pits.
Both characters will die if they fall into a tar pit.
Watergirl is slowed when moving across ice, but she can climb icy slopes.
Fireboy gains speed by sliding over ice, but cannot climb up an icy slope.
Only Watergirl can collect blue gems, while only Fireboy can collect red gems.
Either character can collect white gems.
Mirrors are reflective surfaces that can often be rotated to change the path of a beam of light.
Light beams can be used to activate detectors to open doors, or to melt and freeze pools of water.
Levers are adjustable switches that can raise or lower walls.
Buttons are pressure-sensitive switches that can temporarily move walls.
Many switches need to be stood on by either character, or be held down by a block.
Some switches are timed, so that when the character steps off the switch, it will remain active only for a short while before reverting back to its original position.
Pay attention to the countdown bar at the bottom of a timed button to see how much time you have left.
To successfully complete a level, both characters must stand at their matching colored doors.
To get an "A" score for any level, you must beat it under the designated time shown and collect all of the gems.
You will earn a "B" score if you fail to collect all of the gems but finish under the A time frame, or if you collect all the gems but complete the level too slowly.
You will receive a "C" if you do not collect all the gems and you do not finish the level under the A time frame.

Collect the Red Gem (x1) over the lava pit with Fireboy.
Collect the Blue Gem (x1) over the water pit with Watergirl.
Push the yellow lever to lower the yellow elevator.
Jump from the elevator to the right platform to reach the Red Gem (x2) with Fireboy.
Use Fireboy to stand on the lower level purple button (A).
Collect the Blue Gem (x2) with Watergirl, then move on top of the purple elevator.
Move Fireboy off the purple button (A) to raise Watergirl on the elevator, then stand Watergirl on the upper level purple button (B) to lower the elevator.

Push the clear block under the beam of light to point it into the bottom yellow detector (A) which will raise the yellow wall (a).
Jump off the clear block to collect the Blue Gem (x1) with Watergirl.
Climb up the ramp to collect the Red Gem (x1) with Fireboy.
Push the green lever to rotate the mirror into the top detector (B) and open the yellow wall (b).

Climb to the top left platform to collect the Red Gem (x4) with Fireboy.

Stand Watergirl on the left side of the seesaw to hold it down with her weight.
Use Fireboy to run up the seesaw and jump to the right platform, then stand Watergirl on the right side of the seesaw to hold it down.
Use Fireboy to push the block down to the floor, then use Watergirl to move the block across the seesaw to hold the weight on the left side of the side.
Run Watergirl up the seesaw, jump to the right platform, then stand on the white button beside the lava to lift the white wall (A).
Stand Fireboy next to the purple wall (B), then use Watergirl to jump up the left platforms and stand on the purple button to lift the purple wall.
Collect the Silver Gem (x1) with Fireboy, then stand him by the white wall (A).

Run up the side of the icy slope to collect the Blue Gem (x4), then stand Watergirl beside the gap in the floor (A).
Use Fireboy to jump over the pool of water and collect the Red Gem (x1).
Jump off the ledge to the top right corner to collect the Red Gem (x2).
Run Fireboy down the ramp and through the top pool of lava to collect the Red Gem (x3).

Drop Fireboy down to the bottom, and push the block in the bottom lava pool directly under the gap (A) where Watergirl is standing.
Collect the Red Gem (x5) just beside the bottom lava pool with Fireboy.
Continue right to collect the Red Gem (x6) with Fireboy.
Go through the winding path to the collect the Red Gem (x7) and stand Fireboy at the red door.
Drop Watergirl down on top of the box without touching the lava.
Jump off the block to the right to collect the Blue Gem (x5) with Watergirl.
Jump Watergirl onto the icy slope to collect the Blue Gem (x6).
Continue up the slope to collect Blue Gem (x7) and stand at the blue door.

Jump Fireboy up onto the platform to collect the Red Gem (x1) then jump right over the icy slope.
Run up the icy slope with Watergirl to collect the Blue Gem (x1).
Continue up to the next level to collect the Blue Gem (x2) with Watergirl.
Jump over the ice on the flat area and the slope to collect the Red Gem (x2) with Fireboy.
Stand Fireboy on the timed white button to raise the white wall (A).
Drop into the water to collect the Blue Gem (x3) with Watergirl.
Use Watergirl to flip the purple switch and remove the purple wall (B).
Move Fireboy across the ice before the white wall lowers, then go to the lava pool to collect the Red Gem (x3).
Slide down the icy slope to collect the Red Gem (x4) with Fireboy, then jump from the dry corner to the flat land to get back up.
Go across the pool of water, then stand Watergirl on the timed green button to raise the green wall (C).
Jump over the two snowy patches on the ground to collect the Blue Gem (x3) and make it to the blue door before the green wall (C) lowers.

Stand Fireboy on the ledge, then jump left over the icy slope to collect the Red Gem (x1).
Jump up to the right platform, then stand on the white button to remove the white wall (A) and freeze the pool of water with the beam of light.
Go right then drop down to collect the Red Gem (x2) with Fireboy.
Continue right across the frozen pool to collect the Red Gem (x3).
Move Watergirl to the top left platform, then jump from the top of the box to collect the Blue Gem (x1).
Push the block all the way to the bottom level with Watergirl.
Use Fireboy to push the block onto the elevator.
Move Watergirl to the area with the purple and blue buttons to collect the Blue Gem (x2) and the Blue Gem (x3).
Stand on the purple button to drop the purple wall (B) which will raise the elevator and bring the block to the top of the level.
Use Watergirl to jump over the block, then push it down onto the blue button to raise the blue wall (C).
Move Fireboy to the red door and Watergirl to the blue door.

Move Fireboy to the top of the level, then flip the switch to rotate the upper right mirror.
Stand Fireboy on the purple button to remove the purple wall (A) and drop the crate.
Push the crate on the blue button to remove the blue wall (B).
Stand Fireboy on top of the yellow wall under the white gem.
Use Watergirl to climb up the icy slope and push the blue button to remove the blue wall (C), which will point the beam of light into the detector and raise the yellow wall Fireboy is standing on.
Collect the White Gem (x1) with Fireboy, then move Watergirl off the button to lower the elevator.
Stand Watergirl on the green button to remove the green wall (D) and drop the crate to the bottom level.
Push the crate on the orange button to raise the orange wall (E) blocking the blue and red door.

Push the orange slider to rotate the orange mirror (B) and freeze the pool of water with the white beam of light.
Use Watergirl to collect the Blue Gem (x3) to the left of the orange slider.
Go across the ice with Fireboy to collect the Red Gem (x2).
Jump on top of the platform above the ice to collect the Red Gem (x3) with Fireboy.
Flip the purple switch to lower the purple wall (D).

Push the white slider to the left to reflect the yellow beam of light off the surface of the ice and point at the orange mirror (B).
Push the orange slider to rotate the orange mirror (B) to point the yellow beam of light at the detector (E) and lift the yellow wall (F).
Move Fireboy to the red door.
Move Watergirl to the blue door.

Use Watergirl to flip the blue switch and move the two blue walls (A), which will start the ball rolling.
Before the ball reaches the left pool of water, stand Watergirl on the white button to freeze it into ice.
When the ball rolls across the ice, quickly step off the white button to freeze the right pool of water and flip the blue switch to move away the single blue wall (B).
If done correctly, the ball should roll through the pool of water to the purple button and lift the purple walls (C) to free Watergirl.
Use Watergirl to drop down and collect the Blue Gem (x1).
Stand Watergirl on the yellow button to pick up the Blue Gem (x2) and lift the yellow wall (D) to free Fireboy.
Move Watergirl to hold the blue button and position the blue wall (E) to the left.
Collect the Red Gem (x1) on the ledge above the pool of water with Fireboy.
Move Fireboy to collect the Red Gem (x2) beside the green switch.
Flip the green switch to move the green wall (F) release the second ball.
Quickly stand Fireboy on the orange button to position the orange wall (G) to the right before the ball arrives.
The ball should roll down the hill and past the blue wall and orange wall, then land on the second purple button, lifting the second pair of purple walls (H).
Move Fireboy to the red door and Watergirl to the blue door.

Push the clear box onto the right elevator.

Push the top clear crate (C) onto the purple wall, then stand on the purple button to drop the clear box.
Use Watergirl to push the clear crate on the right elevator.
Use Fireboy to push the dark grey box onto the left elevator.
Stand on the white button with Fireboy to raise the right elevator.
Use Fireboy to push the light grey crate from the right platform to the orange button, which will deflect the light through the crates to the blue detector and remove the blue wall.
Stand on the white button to open the white walls, then drop down the left shaft to collect the Red Gem (x3) with Fireboy.
Jump off the ledge above the blue door with Fireboy to collect the Red Gem (x4).
Move Fireboy to the red door and Watergirl to the blue door.

Stand Fireboy on the green button to lift the green wall (B).
Use Watergirl to jump across the lava onto the platform (A) to collect the Blue Gem (x1).
Ride the bottom air jet to collect the Blue Gem (x2).
Ride the top air jet to collect the Blue Gem (x3).
Cross the water and avoid the lava, then drop Watergirl down the icy slope to collect the Blue Gem (x4).
Jump to the right ledge above Fireboy to collect the Blue Gem (x5) with Watergirl.
Stand Watergirl on the orange button to lift the orange wall (C).
Use Fireboy to flip the purple switch and raise the purple wall (D).
Stand Fireboy on the green button to lift the green wall (B) and free Watergirl.
Move Fireboy to the red door and Watergirl to the blue door.

Simply collect all the Blue and Red Gems by climbing the top, being sure to avoid the lava/water and tar traps.
Remember that Fireboy cannot cross water and Watergirl cannot cross lava.
Watergirl can climb icy slopes, but Fireboy cannot.
Fireboy can slide quickly across ice, but Watergirl is slowed.
Level 21

Stand Watergirl on the left timed white button to lift the bottom white wall (A).
Move Fireboy to the side of the top white wall (2).
Quickly move Watergirl to the right timed white button to lift the top white wall (2), then move away from the button before wall A comes back down.
Use Fireboy to quickly press the timed green button to lift the middle green wall (B) before the white wall (2) comes back down.
Flip the yellow switch to move the yellow wall (C), then move Fireboy away before the green wall (B) comes back down.
Jump across the gap where the yellow wall (C) was to collect the Red Gem (x1) with Fireboy.
Drop down two levels with Fireboy to pick up the Red Gem (x2).
Position Fireboy beside the right blue wall (8).
Move Watergirl across the ice to collect the Blue Gem (x1).

Use Fireboy to press the timed orange button to raise the orange wall (H).
Quickly move Fireboy to hit the green switch and raise the top and bottom green walls (I), then escape before the orange wall comes back down.
Stand Fireboy on the top blue button to free Watergirl.
Collect the Blue Gem (x4) beside the orange button with Watergirl.
Collect the Red Gem (x4) beside the left white button with Fireboy.
Move Fireboy to the red door and Watergirl to the blue door.

Use Watergirl to push the slider button to the left to rotate the green mirror so that the beam of light points towards the bottom pool of water.
Stand Watergirl on the white button to move the white walls (A) away from the green mirror and freeze the bottom pool of water.
Move Watergirl aside and stand Fireboy on the white button.
Use Watergirl to push the slider to the right to freeze the top pool of water.
Use Fireboy to cross the lava and stand on the orange button to lower the orange wall (B).
Collect the White Gem (x1) with Watergirl.

Use Watergirl to flip the blue switch and raise the blue wall (E).

Quickly move Fireboy to the purple button to move the purple wall (A) before the timer runs out.
Move Watergirl to the yellow button as well to move the yellow wall (D) before the timer runs out and the walls return.
If completed successfully, all four walls blocking the beam of light will be moved out of the way and the light will freeze the pool of water (6).
Use Fireboy to cross the lava and collect the White Gem (x1).
Move Fireboy to the red door and Watergirl to the blue door.

Use Watergirl to push the green slider to the left, which will rotate the green mirror and point the beam of light directly at the green wall (C).

Move Fireboy past the purple wall to the crate beside the orange wall (B).

Use Fireboy to push the light grey crate onto the right elevator.
Position Fireboy on the left elevator.
Stand Watergirl on the green button to raise Fireboy on the left elevator to the upper left platform, and to lower the right elevator with the light grey box.
Move Fireboy off the elevator and onto the left platform.
Use Watergirl to push the light grey box through the water.
Jump up from the light grey box to the platform, then hit the blue switch to move the blue wall (C).
Stand Watergirl on the right elevator.
Stand Fireboy on the left white button to drop the crate off the white wall (D), then move off the white button to make the wall push the left dark grey box onto the left elevator; this will balance out the two sides of the elevator in the middle.
Move Watergirl off the right elevator and onto the middle platform.
Stand Fireboy on the green button to drop the left elevator with the dark grey box down.
Use Fireboy to push the dark grey box through the lava.
Jump from the box to the platform to collect the White Gem (x1).
Stand Fireboy on the left elevator.
Stand Watergirl on the right white button to drop the crate off the white wall (E), then move her off the button to let the wall push the right dark grey crate on the right elevator; again, this will balance the two sides in the middle.
Push the yellow switch to lower the yellow wall (F).
Move Fireboy to the red door and Watergirl to the blue door.

Jump from platform to platform over the lava and water to collect the 5 Blue Gems and 5 Red Gems, then reach the red/blue door.
Try to landing at the center and running with the motion of the platform to keep it from spinning.
Remember that Fireboy cannot cross water and Watergirl cannot cross lava.

Stand Fireboy directly underneath the 3rd yellow elevator (there is a 4th yellow elevator beneath the floor that is not visible).
Use Watergirl to flip the yellow switch which will raise all the elevators up one level, including the one Fireboy is standing on.
Move Fireboy off the elevator and onto the solid ground, then use Watergirl to hit the switch again to lower the elevators.
Position Fireboy back on the elevator, then use Watergirl to flip the switch to raise Fireboy on the elevator (you can repeat this process any time you want to move one level up or do it in reverse order when you want to go one level down).
Use Fireboy to push the block on the second tier onto the middle of the elevator - be careful when positioning the block, because it is possible to get it stuck on the sides.
Raise the elevator to the top, then push the crate on top of the blue button to move the blue wall (B).
Push the block on the 3rd tier on to the yellow elevator.
Use the elevator to raise the block to the top, then push it onto the orange button to move the orange wall (C).
Stand Fireboy on the white button to move the double white walls (A).
Use Watergirl to collect the White Gem (x1).
Push the left block on the blue button over the side to land on the second tier.
Use the elevator to lower the block to the first tier.
Push the block onto the white button to move the single white wall (D).
Use Fireboy to operate the yellow switch to raise Watergirl from the ground level to the first tier.
Move Fireboy to the red door and Watergirl to the blue door.

Jump from platform to platform over the tar pits to collect the 6 Blue Gems and 6 Red Gems, then reach the red/blue door.
Try to land close to the center of the swing, then either run or jump with the motion of the swing to catch the gem and avoid the tar.
The side you are standing on will be lowered with your weight, so move quickly and pause if you need to on solid ground.
Level 35

Use Watergirl to gently push the ball (A) down to the purple button.
Use Watergirl to push the lower crate on top of the white button.
Move Watergirl out of the way, then use Fireboy to push the lower crate on top of the green button.
Stand Fireboy on the yellow button to lift the yellow wall.
Move Watergirl under the white wall, then stand Fireboy on the white button so Watergirl can pass through.
Use Watergirl to flip the orange switch (try sliding down the left ramp for momentum, then jumping on the icy slope and climbing over to reach the switch).
Move Watergirl to the yellow wall, then stand Fireboy on the yellow button to let Watergirl pass through.
Use Fireboy to push the upper crate onto the blue button and lift the blue wall.
Collect the White Gem (x1) with Watergirl.
Move Fireboy out of the way, then use Watergirl to push the upper crate onto the yellow button.
Stand Fireboy down by the white wall, then use Watergirl to push the white crate on to the white button.
Move Fireboy to the red door and Watergirl to the blue door.
