Small Forest StoryIf you haven't seen Small Forest Story yet, it definitely deserves to be played through once for the holidays. And while it won't present much of a challenge for you, the pixel graphics are exquisite and the characters are adorably cute—especially the little bunny dance.

The interactive piece was created by Watanabe of Watarigraphic, where "various, happy contents are plenty here." :D

The load times can be a bit long, but persevere and you will be rewarded with a delightful holiday point-and-click experience. It reminded me of those tiny little books I used to have as a child, and how each of them contained a tiny little story commensurate with my own tiny little self. Too cute.

Play Small Forest Story

Apparently the interactive piece was only a temporary offering from the artist for the holidays, as it has been taken offline, but we have preserved the game by mirroring it here for posterity.

Um... I can't seem to find the game. All the links lead to the same list of games made by Tonypa and none of them are 'Small Forest Story'.

Sorry, my bad. Fixed.

Looks fun, I think I'll play with my wife tonight when we celebrate Solstice! But wondering, I hear no music or sound effects? Are there any that you have heard?

Reply

It's pretty quiet up until the end scene, at which time there is a tiny little xmas tune that plays as a reward for finishing.

Cute, Jay! One of the only games I've ever beat without hints, sadly. Or I'm impatient!

Boy, that banana's a little hard on the snowmen! ;)

Reply

Haha that was very cute. There's music at the end, but not during the game. I was waiting for that banana to start Peanut-Butter Jelly Timing :D

Hehe. A nice, cute, albeit short, game for the Xmas season. Nice find as always, Jay. I even checked out that password thing.

I love the inaccurate translations. "next, do you challenge?" and "congratulations all items have become complete!" It's so damn cute!

So what is up with the password thing?

i am ashamed to admit, but this is indeed the only point-and-click game i've completed without hints or frustrations. =p it's very cute! i might show my coworkers this - it's something they might be able to do. =p

I loved it. = D
Their site had even more wonderful graphics to enjoy. lovely find.

Nice if a little small :) I had to switch back to 1024x768 (wondering why they don't make these movies resizable like flash is so good at)...

Next! :P
